"The Biggest Loser" Renewed for a Sixth Season
Tuesday February 12, 2008
It was announced yesterday, February 11, by NBC Entertainment that The Biggest Loser will air a sixth season on NBC. DAYS's own Alison Sweeney (Sami) will once again host this popular weight loss reality series. The new season will feature couples, but producers will be heading to America's fattest cities in search of contestants. By the term "couples," this can include family members, best friends, co-workers, and people who have a special bond. Contestants will work out under the supervision of professional trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000.
The Biggest Loser 5, which debuted on January 15, 2008, is off to it's strongest start since the show's initial debut in the fall of 2004, even topping out FOX's American Idol. The Biggest Loser airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST.
