Day of Days Contest Winner to Appear on The Bonnie Hunt Show

Congratulations goes out to Sonya Holcombe, who was chosen as the "Day of Days" contest winner last Tuesday, October 28 when Bonnie Hunt and Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) called the lucky winner at home and told her the exciting news on The Bonnie Hunt Show. As previously reported, Alison Sweeney appeared on The Bonnie Hunt Show on Monday, October 13 to announce the once in a lifetime opportunity for a viewer to win a trip to Los Angeles to be a Bonnie Hunt correspondent at the "Day of DAYS" event on Saturday, November 1.

Sonya is from of East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, and will appear on The Bonnie Hunt Show on Wednesday, November 5 to tell Bonnie and her audience all about her incredible experience interviewing the stars from Days of Our Lives at the November 1 event. She will share her photos, behind-the-scenes stories, and even reveal which star she convinced to take off his shirt! Before Sonya comes on stage to sit with Bonnie, we see a brief clip of her “Day of Days” experience with the stars. She asks Eric Martsolf (Brady) what to expect about staying clothed on DAYS. He says he gets to stay clothed for the first three weeks as Brady. Sonya jokes about having to talk to the writers about that one. She exchanges hugs with Lauren Koslow (Kate), Drake Hogestyn, (John), Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe), Joseph Mascolo (Stefano), and Josh Taylor (Roman). She displays a shirtless photo of James Scott (E.J.) to him.

Sonya: “If Bonnie was on DAYS, what kind of character do you think she would be?”

Josh Taylor (Roman): “You talking about love interest, come on in, Bonnie!” he enthuses.

Sonya: “Do you have any messages for Bonnie?”

Drake Hogestyn (John): “Well, yes I do Bonnie. John Black is looking for someone to make Marlena jealous. I’d love for you to step in. Bring it on, Bonnie,” he jokes.

Sonya: “What was your favorite romantic storyline?”

Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) "All the men have something equally lovely to offer in different departments,” she laughs.

“Bonnie, Sonya is doing an amazing, amazing job,” enthuses James Scott (E.J). “Bonnie, I can’t believe you found her! She is priceless! We are having so much fun. Thank you for sending her out here to hang out with us,” smiles Alison Sweeney (Sami).

On stage, Sonya is gushing about having the amazing experience to interact with the DAYS cast, who obviously adored her. Bonnie displays a picture of Sonya with her mom, whom she brought along for the experience. Sonya shares how she’s watched DAYS for 25 years and watched it with her mom, who took a lot of the photos at the event. Bonnie displays a photo of Sonya and Alison Sweeney, who was flipping her hair in the photo. Sonya calls it “the huffy hair flip,” when Sami huffs during her moments that Lucas or someone else does something she doesn’t like. Bonnie then displays a picture of James Scott (E.J.), James Reynolds (Abe), Renee Jones (Lexie), Joseph Mascolo (Stefano), and Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), with Thaao Penghlis (Tony), Alison Sweeney (Sami), and Peter Reckell (Bo) in the background. Sonya marveled how amazing it was, since Joe and Bryan were hugging. “When would you ever see Stefano hugging Lucas?” she pointed out. Sonya thanks Bonnie for the wonderful, once in a lifetime opportunity to meet her favorite DAYS stars.
