Darin Brooks to Star in Blue Mountain State
Daytime Emmy nominee Darin Brooks (Max) is slated to star in Spike TV's greenlighted football-themed comedy pilot Blue Mountain State, according to The Hollywood Reporter and various other sources. The half-hour scripted comedy is comparable to the 1978 movie entitled Animal House and revolves around three incoming freshman attending Blue Mountain State in the Midwest. The three men find that they must quickly adapt to college life while juggling football, girls, classes, and even hazing.
Darin plays Alex, who is content to ride the bench while partying with his best friend named Sammy. The pilot also stars Chris Romano, Sam Jones III, Alan Ritchman, and Gabrielle Dennis. Ed Marinaro will star as the team's coach.
The pilot of this scripted comedy goes into production in February 2009. Brian Robbins is the executive producer and the director. Chris Romano also co-wrote the project along with Eric Falconer.
Congratulations to the talented Darin Brooks on his new project!
