
Former DAYS star Rachel Melvin (ex-Chelsea Brady) has not only landed a role on the NBC hit series Heroes, but the Emmy-nominated actress will also begin production on a new Lifetime Movie Network four-hour miniseries entitled Seven Deadly Sins. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cable network has given the green light to begin production on the miniseries later this month and is slated for a 2010 premiere. The miniseries is based on Robin Wasserman's Seven Deadly Sins series of novels, which include Lust, Greed, Envy, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, andPride.
Seven Deadly Sins is written by Gary Tieche and will be directed by Jeff Renfroe. Among those set to star in the miniseries include Eric Close (Without a Trace), Dreama Walker (Gossip Girl), Jared Keeso (The Guard), Emma LaHana (The Guard), Greyston Holt (Durham County), and Steven Grayhm (Taken).
In Rachel's latest blog entry, dated August 4, she gives a description of what sounds like the character she'll portray in this miniseries: I'm also really excited to share with you news of my most recent project, which I'll begin filming later this month in Victora, BC. I play a vampy, Gossip Girl-esque teen, bored with life, willing to test the boundaries and flirt with danger, no matter the consequences.
