Alison Sweeney Partners with California Raisins to Raise Awareness for Feeding America

Celebrity mom, host of NBC's The Biggest Loser, and Days of Our Lives star Alison Sweeney (Sami) has recently partnered with California Raisins in order to raise awareness for Feeding America's childhood hunger initiatives, including the Backpack Program.
Alison says in a press release: "As a mom, I recognize the importance proper nutrition plays in the overal health and well-being of young children. That's why I'm proud to partner with California Raisins in its efforts to raise awareness of Feeding America's childhood hunger initiatives like the Backpack Program."
Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. The mission is to feed America's hungry through a network of member foodbanks and engage in the fight to end hunger. The Backpack Program is designed to meet the special needs of children who are at risk of hunger during weekends and school breaks. Backpacks are filled with child-friendly, nonperishable, vitamin fortified food which children take home on weekends or before holiday vacations. Some backpack programs even provide extra food for younger siblings at home.
California raisin growers are donating a semi-truck load of raisin snack packs and $50,000 to support Feeding America as part of their efforts to raise awareness and to contribute in the fight against domestic hunger.
Kudos once again to Alison Sweeney for getting involved with a highly worthy cause to help end hunger in America. To learn how you can get involved in the fight against hunger, visit the Feeding America website.
