Matthew Ashford (Jack) is on the Days of our Lives set taping again, which means a reunion with longtime leading lady Melissa Reeves (Jennifer). The pair shared their first scenes together, since they were written off the show in 2006.
"It's so amazing having him back," says Reeves, admitting she'd begun to wonder if it would ever happen. "I was a little afraid, because Matt is busy. He always has stuff going on. So you never know. But the fact that it always works out is the best."
Although the duo hadn't talked to each other much since leaving the show, things quickly fell into place between them.
"When I saw him, we just started laughing," recounts Reeves. "It was like, 'Oh my goodness. You're here again.' It was like no time had passed. It's funny how we won't see each other for years; then, when we do, we just pick up right where we left off."
So how were Reeves and Ashford's first scenes together?
"We had a ball. So much fun," smiles Reeves, who believes their storyline is going to be interesting, since Jennifer's now involved with Daniel.
"This could be a fun triangle, because Jennifer really loves Daniel," contends Reeves. "I don't think that's ever happened for Jennifer before. In the past, there's always been that little bit of doubt in the back of her mind, because of Jack. But that's not there now."

I would arrange my classes around Days bc of Jack and jennifer. I even watched their wedding with my grandmother who is now in heaven. Many memories. I guess I may hv to start watching it again on Soapnet!
What the what? “Jennifer really loves Daniel”? I sure don’t buy that. At best, he seems like Jennifer’s (failed) attempt to get over Jack. Come on, Days, don’t give us another stupid triangle with Jennifer at the center and Jack groveling to regain her affections. Been there, done that. I’m sick of her dangling guys in front of the man who has loved her and only her for 20 years. No way. Jack needs to turn his back on her this time, and she needs to work to get him back. Come on, Days, mix it up and make it believable. I cannot buy that Daniel can even compete with how Jennifer feels about Jack.
But it’s nice to read about Missy and Matt enjoying working together again.

A – I completely respect your opinion on Jen having to work to get Jack back, but I disagree wholeheartedly. Jack has been on a walkabout and treating both Jenn and the kids less like loved family members and more like facebook pals. Even if Jack had a real-life soap opera reason for taking off (like covertly working with John and Marlena to fight behind the scenes evil DiMera drones), he could have confided some -if not all – with his partner of almost 20 years. Regardless of how it plays out, it should be fun to watch with all the great older characters joining the current cast!

I really like Daniel and Jen together though… I also think they should shake things up a bit and let her be preggos with Daniel’s baby. Just let them be… there are plenty of possibilities for Jack’s return…he doesn’t need to be back with Jen…move on folks.

I agree, let Daniel and Jennifer get together and stay together, Jack screwed up, it’s simple as that. He can move on with someone else if they really need him to “be with someone.” Jennifer needs a stable, kind and loving man that isn’t out chasing wild dreams or stories. Maybe he and one of the Walker sisters, tee hee. Just kidding. I’m sure you k now what I mean though.

Jack and Jen belong together. Daniel and Jennifer are boring and a forced couple. Daniel failed Chloe big time, by not being there for her when she needed him most. And making empty promises to her. I don’t believe for one second Jack abonded his family. No doubt he’s hurt, or been captive. Reunite Jack and Jennifer.

I couldn’t be more over Jack., but that’s the writer’s fault and not Matthew Ashford. For the writers to have had Jack flit off to “find himself” after all of the hardships that he and Jennifer had been through previously to be together dishonored both the characters and the viewers. I’m over it and wondering why the writers hate the audience so much. With the demise of so many soaps lately I’d think they would be doing things to please rather than irritate!

i love jack and jenn alot i rember when they had a westen wedding ones and how jack had to help bring abby into the wlord i cant wait to see them together again i love m and m and i also am a big fan of melissa real life man scott love him in the movies and on gh and love his music have his cd. cant wait to see m and m on tv again as j and j hope they stay for a while.

Now that Jack Deveraux is back on DAYS, perhaps I will start watching the show again. I loved Roman/John & Isabella, Steve & Kayla, Jack & Jennifer…but only when Jack was played by Matthew Ashford. Every other Jack made me snore…but Matthew Ashford is so gallant & Cary Grant-esque & gorgeous. Loved his way with witty dialogue.
Can’t wait to see Jack and Jen having scenes together. I hope there is a valid reason – NOT just a “walkabout” that he has been MIA in his family’s life. I like Daniel – just not with Jen. jack and Jen belong together!!!!! I’m sorry, I just can’t accept that she can love someone she has known for like 5 minutes as much as her lifelong love. So happy to have Matthew Ashford back. Jack and Jennifer should be together but for pete’s sake not like they did the last few attempts. The writers need to look back at the show when Jack and Jenn first got together and write them like they were then, that’s the couple we fell in love with. Way to go Days getting one of my most favorite couples back on the show!

OMG!!! i am so excited to see Jack back on Days…..please give him and Jen a storyline that makes “her” realize what they had together was the real deal. Do not like her with Daniel at all- bring back Chelsea cause she was right up Daniels ally as far as I’m concerned. Anywho….I’m 58 been watching days since the first (through my Mom at first) and love love love the new writers….. if I win the lottery I’ll remember you guys….LOL Can’t wait for next week!!!!
Jack and jen back on the same set. Great. I can’t wait to see what happends. I’m 38 years old and I can’t remember a time when mom and I didn’t have the show on. We talk daily about it. And I hope days never leaves the air

I absolutely HATE Jack!!! I cannot believe they brought him back and I cannot believe the DAYS writers are even thinking of breaking up Jennifer and Daniel. They are an adorable new couple – something fresh. Not the same old, bring back the old couple and tear up the new one for no reason. Jack is completely unattractive and no match for Jen. Daniel and Jen are hot together and it’s a new storyline with a new couple – something the show does not do very well (i.e. bringing back Austin & Carrie only to break them up and have Austin cheat on Carrie with Sami for the 30th time????) This is ridiculous. Days needs to come up with new storylines and plots not repeat the same ones from 20 years ago!!! How many times are we going to see the Sami, Austin & Carrie love/hate triangle????
I think they need to leave Daniel and Jennifer alone. Daniel is so sweet and loving to Jennifer. Jack is never around and when he is..Jennifer can’t trust him or even believe what he says. Daniel is always honest and she can rely on him. Let Jennifer be pregnant with Daniels baby. I used to love Jack and Jennifer growing up. But it’s over now I don’t think they should get back together.
Please, please, please leave Daniel and Jennifer together! I’m a long-time Days fan and was a long-time Jack and Jenn fan but no longer. Anyone can see that the chemistry between Daniel and Jennifer is undeniable. They seem so natural together and the witty banter – hope to see more of that. Jack and Jennifer just have no chemistry anymore. The kiss they had on Nov 9th was so awkward to watch and I think it’s because the chemistry isn’t there. Shawn and Missy look better and act more natural and real. Sorry Matt, but you and Missy just seem more like friends and I just can’t picture a romantic connection anymore. Leave the past in the past and bring on the new super couple, Dr. Dan and Jennifer.
DANIEL AND JENNIFER NEED TO STAY TOGETHER!!!! They have so much chemistry together and finally Jennifer has a man that will take care of her and be there for her. Jennifer always had to take care of Jack and he would screw up and come back and say how sorry he was…I got so tired of it. Daniel is a real man and he is exactly what Jennifer needs. Jack needs to move on. If they make Jack and Jennifer get back together she will regret it down the road and realize what a mistake it was to let Daniel go.
