Mary Beth Evans Returning to Days of Our Lives

Mary Beth EvansIt looks like it's going to be a very Brady Christmas on Days of Our Lives. Soap Opera Digest reports that Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) is headed home to Salem for the holidays. And she'll have her son, Joey, in tow.

Evans is slated to tape her first scenes on September 23. She will begin airing in mid-December, when Kayla arrives in town to help her mother, Caroline, at the Brady Pub.

Evans last appeared on Days in February, 2011, when Adrienne summoned her to Salem to give her wayward daughter, Stephanie, some much needed advice on her disastrous love life.

The character of Joey, who was born in 2008,  has not been seen since he was a baby. With daytime's penchant for aging characters, one has to wonder if he'll be a teenager this time around.

Since exiting Days, Evans has worked as a producer and star of the web series, The Bay. She is also slated to appear in the play, Murder at the Howard Johnson's, at Studio C Artists in Los Angeles. The screwball comedy opens on September 22 and will run for six weeks.

A wise move. Keep up the good ideas about bringing back much loved key members of the Days cast. They are the heart and soul of the long running and much loved story.
