Tanya Boyd Returning to Days of Our Lives

Follow me on:

Renee Jones and Tanya BoydAnother familiar face is heading back to Days of Our Lives. Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Tanya Boyd is returning as Lexie's mother and resident Salem psychic, Celeste Perrault.

Boyd, who first appeared on Days in 1994,  was last seen  in October 2007.

Renee Jones, for one, must definitely be excited about the news. During a recent interview, I questioned her about Boyd and asked if she missed their mother/daughter dynamic.

"I do," admitted Jones. "I loved that relationship so much."

Jones hadn't a clue what actually happened to the character.

"They just stopped calling her during that time when I was officially let go [from Days]," she noted. "I don't even know if they wrote her out."

For the record, the writers did not pen an exit for the character. So it will be interesting to hear where Celeste has been and what she's been up to, since she's been gone.

Celeste is a great character. It should be a fun dynamic between Celeste, Stefano, Kate, EJ and Lexie!

I’m going to be 18 next month and love Days Of Our Lives and all the women on there. They are all so attractive. Renee is very attractive and I would love to go out on a date with her and of course some “delight” afterwards. I know she is old enough to be my Mom but I don’t care plus I know she wouldn’t go out with since I’m too young for her but hey, I can fantasize.

Robert, I think you need to earn how to spell, regardless off the homophobic rant. Good English is a must to succeed in our society!!!!!

I think that it’s absolutely WONDERFUL that a gay character has come to Days. I had the support of my family when I came out, but sometimes you don’t and this is a perfect medium to show that it’s ok to come out. It’s genetic. It’s not a choice. Will’s performance is outstanding and should get an award for all the talent and patience he’s portrayed in delivering this wonderful role he’s been given. Great job Days, keep up the good work.

Well it’s about time! Tanya Boyd is a wonderful actress and there was no reason at all why Days didn’t have her on the first place as she has always added that spice to the show that people like. At one point despite how long Tanya was on the show I don’t even think she was on contract. I think it was borderline racist the way she Tanya was treated.

So sorry about “Celeste”. Is there any explanation as to why she “bowed out”?
