Say it isn't so! Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Days of Our Lives vet Peter Reckell is contemplating leaving the show, when his contract expires this summer, which means Bo Brady could be heading out of Salem.
According to Digest, Reckell has been in talks with the show to negotiate a new deal, but so far nothing has been worked out and he's been "quietly informing castmates" that he may leave.
A show spokesperson offered the standard "no comment" on the situation.
Reckell first appeared on Days in 1983, when he stormed onto the scene as Roman Brady's (then played by Wayne Northrop) rebellious little brother and quickly catapulted to the top of daytime television popularity polls. Reckell remained with the show until 1987. He came back to Days in 1990, leaving in 1991. He returned again in 1995 and has been mainstay in Salem ever since.
Together, Reckell and Kristian Alfonso (Hope) have created one of the most memorable supercouples in the show's history. Having either actor off the canvas would be a major loss for the soap and is sure to cause an uproar from its fan base. Let's hope it doesn't happen.
