Bo Brady has been conspicuously missing from Salem for months. While the soap hasn't addressed the situation -- Bo is just off camera a lot -- it's getting silly having Hope refer to her hubby, but never seeing him. Should Days of Our Lives replace Peter Reckell?
Here are a few casting suggestions:
Paging Denny Duquette
Remember Jeffrey Dean Morgan's turn as the dashing Denny on Grey's Anatomy, the heart patient who won Izzie's heart? Morgan's ruggedness would fit the Bo mold, and he's proven he can master soap-style romance.
It's too bad Vincent Irizarry has signed on for Prospect Park's All My Children revival. The soap vet has been playing anti-heroes for years. Plus, wouldn't it be fun to see him cross paths with former Guiding Light leading lady - he was Lujack to her Beth - Judi Evans (Adrienne)?
From Ridge to Rebel
Ronn Moss has been idle since leaving The Bold and the Beautiful as Ridge Forrester, a role that many in the industry thought Reckell could easily slip into. What about turning the tables and having Moss slip into Bo's rabble-rouser boots?
Bo Gone By
Robert Kelker-Kelly hasn't been seen nor heard from since his stint as Stavros on General Hospital. (When I last interviewed the actor, he was living in Massachusetts and working as an aviation maintenance technician.) He's already got Bo Brady (1992 to 1995) on his resume.
The Real Deal
Many would argue that no one could, nor should, replace Peter Reckell. He created Bo in 1983 and quickly turned him into a daytime phenomenon. Since Reckell hasn't signed on for any new acting projects, perhaps it's time he and Days reconvened and worked out an agreement.
