When "Days of our Lives" premiered in 1965, Tom and Alice Horton were the heads of the show’s first family. Together, Tom, a doctor, and Alice, a devoted housewife and mother, raised five children. The upper-middle class Hortons are a mainstay in Salem.

Traditionally a family of doctors, the Hortons have branched out to include lawyers, police officers, journalists, and more over the years. And, through it all, they’ve remained one of the most revered and respected families in Salem, and among fans of "Days of our Lives." Horton Square in Salem is named for the seminal family and features a plaque dedicated to the late Tom and Alice Horton.

Want to know more about this very special bunch? Here’s a glimpse at their complicated family tree.

Tom and Alice Horton

Tom and Alice, the original "Days" patriarch and matriarch, were the parents of Tommy Jr., Addie, Mickey Bill and Marie Horton.

Doug and Julie Williams

Julie Olson is the daughter of the late Kitty Horton and Ben Olson. Julie's the granddaughter of Tom and Alice Horton.

Julie married Doug Williams (three times!).The actors who played the couple for most of their tenure on the show, Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth, were married in real life in 1974.

Doug and Julie became one of the best-loved and longest tenured couples in "Days of our Lives" history.

Hope and Bo Brady

Hope Williams is the daughter of Doug Williams and Addie Horton. She was part of the "super" couple Bo and Hope. Their story began when Bo arrived in Salem on his motorcycle and gave spoiled little rich girl Hope a ride home. The two were a top favorite among fans of the show, and his nickname for her, Fancy Face, became part of their lore.

Bo and Hope were the parents of Zack Brady (deceased), Ciara Brady, and Shawn Douglas Brady.

Shawn Douglas Brady and Belle Black, childhood sweethearts who eventually married, are the parents of Claire Brady.

Bo died in 2015, bringing an end to the Bo/Hope romance.

Mickey Horton and Maggie Simmons

Maggie and Mickey, another fan favorite couple, adopted two children, Sarah and Melissa. Mickey was the son of Alice and Tom Horton. He had the reputation for being a lawyer who never won a case; a lot of the people in Salem he defended ended up in prison.

While preparing to go on a cruise with Maggie in 2010, Mickey died of a heart attack.

Jennifer Horton and Jack Deveraux

Jennifer is the daughter of Bill Horton and Laura Spencer. She was the longtime love and eventual wife of Jack Deveraux, until his death in 2012.

Jack and Jennifer are the parents of Jack Deveraux Jr. and Abigail Deveraux, who married Chad DiMera.

Jennifer is the half-sister of Lucas Horton. Lucas is the son of Bill Horton and Kate Roberts. Lucas was married to Nicole Walker, Carrie Brady, Sami Brady, and Chloe Lane (in that order).
