Samantha Brady DiMera
Perhaps the most notorious Brady in the history of the show is Samantha Jean Brady Roberts, also known as Sami. She is the daughter of Roman Brady and Dr. Marlena Evans Black. Ever since she witnessed John and Marlena making love on the table at Titan, which incidentally resulted in Belle Black, she has engaged in blackmailing, baby kidnapping, swapping DNA test results, scheming, lying, and other infamous plots. Her portrayer, Alison Sweeney, has become one of daytime's favorite villainesses in the history of soaps, one that fans love to hate. In fact, Alison Sweeney won a "Special Fan Award" for America's Favorite Villain in 2002. One of her most memorable storylines was when she was wrongly convicted for murdering Franco Kelly, thanks to her rival Kate's machinations. Lucas ultimately saved her from death by lethal injection by confessing.
Sami was married to her soulmate and former enemy Lucas Horton and involved in yet another "Who's the Daddy?" storyline, since she was raped by EJ DiMera at the time of her twins' conception. After Lucas was sent to prison for shooting E.J. DiMera, Sami grew to have feelings for E.J. and made love to him right before Lucas was released from prison, which has resulted in her becoming pregnant with her fourth child.
Salem Stalker
One of the most controversial yet famous storylines in the history of Days is that of the Salem Stalker serial killer storyline, which took place from 2003-2004. Numerous characters were killed off, thanks to the writings of then head writer James E. Reilly. Fans were outraged, but the ratings went up nonetheless. Due to much persistence from fans and others alike, the "dead" characters were brought back and showed up on an island identical to Salem, thanks to the workings of the DiMera family.
