Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, one could say that Galen had “the arts” in his blood. His father was a sculptor and a dancer; his mother was a fine artist.
While attending high school in LA, Galen accompanied a friend to a hair salon, where he was asked to appear in their ad. The gig led to him moving to New York and pursuing a modeling career. Galen finished high school via mail, but passed on attending UCLA to take a modeling assignment in Africa. The job led to an array of others overseas jobs, as Galen walked the runway for renowned designers like Valentino and Armani.
In time, Galen moved back to The States and attended NYU. After two years, he transferred to the University of Miami, where he majored in English and film. The day he graduated, he flew to Los Angeles, where he began his first soap stint - the role of Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald on Passions - the very next day.
Galen and his girlfriend, actress Jenna Hudlett, relocated to LA together in 1999. In January 2000, the couple eloped to Las Vegas, but kept their marriage a secret from friends, family and press until April.
Acting aside, Galen is also a film maker and a writer. He is also involved in the animal charity, New Leash on Life. In his spare time he enjoys watching basketball, going to the beach, barbecuing with friends, and, in the winter, snowboarding.
He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Jenna and their two sons.
