Back at the pub, EJ requests to see Samis wallet and leafs through it, coming across her forms of identification saying Samantha Roberts. Because thats my name and Im sticking to it, declares Sami. EJ reminds her that if they are to be successful with the immigration agent, they need to convince the agent that they are married in every sense of the word. Sami affirms that shes doing it for Johnny. EJ wonders why she cant at least pretend to be in love with him, rehashing how she didnt seem to have a problem pretending when he was shot. Well that was to keep my family safe, clarifies Sami. EJ takes her hand in an effort to act the part of the loving husband, which elicits laughter from Sami. He suggests they stop trying to twist themselves into pretzel-like shapes and just act hostile, which is what Sami suggested in the first place. EJ figures they will be fine if the immigration officer sees them as a couple who are not particularly in love or happy.
Just outside the pub, Marlena asks John what happened at the police station when he looked at the desk. She suspects something in the room triggered a memory for him, recalling the time when John worked at the station. John thanks her for the stroll down memory lane, but believes he has enough to worry about in his current state. He enters the pub intent on getting a drink. Marlena tells Sami that she believes Johns starting to remember something.
Marlena later talks on the phone with Brady and raves how good it is to talk to him. She hands the phone to John, insisting that Brady needs to hear his voice. Marlena is teary-eyed as John tells Brady Its your father. John musters up enough enthusiasm to tell Brady that he cant wait to see him. He hands the phone back to Marlena and admits that speaking to Brady was like talking to a total stranger.
Back at the police station, an agitated Morgan defends her father to Philip, insisting that hes a good man. Philip insists that Paul is guilty, and if Paul says otherwise hes lying to his daughter. Morgan professes to love her father and refuses to stand there while Philip calls him a criminal. Phil retorts that love has nothing to do with it, as hes had to come to terms with some questionable things Victor has done. If your father cant decide for himself what is right and wrong, then Im sorry he is nothing but a spineless jerk, states Philip. Morgan wonders where he gets the nerve to badmouth her father and storms away angry.
Bo and Hope keep vigil in a feverish Chelseas hospital room. Lexie wants to run some tests on a stubborn Bo, who refuses to leave his daughters side. He rants how its not fair that Chelsea risked her life for him and now she cant have kids. Daniel emerges and tells Bo to knock it off, since his anger and frustration isnt helping Chelsea. Bo warns Daniel that hes getting very close to crossing the line. Daniel implores Bo to just cut himself some slack, as he cant blame himself for Chelseas condition. He tries to assure Bo that Chelsea wanted to go through with the operation, since she loves him and didnt want her dad to die. A devastated Bo asks Daniel how it happened. Daniel predicts they may never really know and tells Bo that hes free to get a lawyer if hes implying negligence. Bo rushes to Chelseas side when she awakens and apologizes for waking her up. An emotional Chelsea implores her dad to trust Daniel.
Hope asks Daniel and Lexie for time alone with Chelsea. Outside the room, Lexie tries to assure a contrite Daniel that no-one anticipated Chelseas outcome and its not his fault. Daniel believes he was the wrong guy for the job. Lexie advises him to schedule a consultation with Dr. Elman and take it from there. Daniel believes that the chances of Chelseas infertility getting reversed are minimal. He admits that hes lost objectivity in this case and let himself get too close.
Bo and Hope sit by Chelsea when a nurse summons Bo outside the room to speak to Lexie. Bo assures Chelsea that he loves her before he exits the room. Hope tells Chelsea how proud she is of her for taking good care of Bo. Chelsea wishes that Bo didnt blame himself, affirming that it was her decision to save his life. Hope apologizes to Chelsea for the predicament, but a tearful Chelsea doesnt want the pity. Hope comforts her as Chelsea reveals that she just had a dream about Zack, but this dream was different from the others. Chelsea sobs as she describes the dream, then rehashes how she took Zack away from Hope. Hope believes that God had a plan for Zack. Chelsea deduces that its because Zack was able to donate a portion of liver to save Claire. Just like they were able to use a piece of your pancreas to save your dad, confirms Hope. Chelsea refers to her infertility as some kind of justice. Hope tells her not to ever talk like that again as Bo listens outside the door. She assures Chelsea that whats happened to her isnt punishment for Zacks death. Hope assures her that shes a wonderful person and that Zacks death was an accident. A sobbing Chelsea thanks her. Hope professes to love her and refers to her as her daughter. They share an emotional embrace.
Outside the room, Lexie questions Daniel as to why hes being so hard on himself. Daniel insists hes lost objectivity and needs to keep his distance from Chelsea. Are you saying that you are becoming emotionally involved with Chelsea? assumes Lexie. Daniel doesnt answer the question, only stating that its best for Chelsea. Lexie asks if she should tell Chelsea that hell no longer be her doctor, but Daniel says not yet since she has enough to deal with.
Lexie later enters Chelseas room and gives Bo the good news that he has a clean bill of health. Hope and Chelsea are relieved, but Bo is less than enthused. Lexie takes Hope away to examine her shoulder. Bo embraces his daughter.
Daniel later hands Lexie Chelseas file. Lexie wonders if hes going to at least say good-bye to Chelsea. He approaches the door, then walks away. Hope comes back to Chelseas room and sees Bo holding Chelsea.
