Sami and Nicole reunited

By Gwen Morett, About.com

Daniel and a smiling Chelsea are having coffee together at the Java Café. He asks what her story is, such as if he has a job. Chelsea reveals that she doesn’t, but goes to school full-time. “What do you do for fun?” he asks. She says she hangs out with friends, watches TV, reads, and jokes how she’s actually kind of boring. Daniel believes he can help change that and suggests that she show him around to all of Salem’s hot spots. She agrees just as Nick shows up and spots them together. Nick approaches them and kisses Chelsea on the cheek and is glad to see she’s feeling better. She makes the introductions between the men. Nick thanks him for what he did for Chelsea and Bo. Nick figures out that Daniel’s the doctor who convinced the Swedish government to fund the environmentally friendly hospital. Chelsea encourages Nick to tell Daniel about his grant. Nick shares how he created an alternative fuel source, which is based on the idea of maximizing energy from waste. Chelsea then appears as though she’s not feeling well.

Nick continues to talk about his hybrid and shares how he wants to test drive a hydrogen car. Daniel reveals that he has one in Victor’s garage and offers to let Nick take it for a spin. He then asks Chelsea if she’s feeling alright. Daniel suggests taking her to the hospital, but Chelsea claims she’s fine. Nick notes how she looks like she’s burning up. Chelsea denies feeling ill and chalks it up to drinking a hot beverage and wearing a lot of layers. Daniel is insistent on taking her to the hospital, but Chelsea proceeds to get a cold drink and shed a couple layers of clothing. After she excuses herself, Daniel tells Nick to keep a close eye on Chelsea. Nick agrees and notes that the doctor really cares about Chelsea. “I care about all my patients,” confirms Daniel. “Do you go out on coffee dates with all your patients?” confronts Nick, who asks if the good doctor is trying to make a move on his girlfriend. Daniel claims he was only making a new friend with an ex-patient. He affirms that his family has been friends with the Kiriakises longer than he and Nick have been alive. Thus, he’s closer to Chelsea than he is with a lot of his patients. He promises that Chelsea is safe with him and notes how cool it is that Nick called him out and marked his territory.

After their discussion, Nick flashes back to visiting Chelsea in the hospital, where she admitted that she felt as though the pancreas donation experience was an opportunity to be a better person. Chelsea emerges, where Nick notes that she was gone a long time and she didn’t shed any layers of clothing. She claims she changed her mind and got really cold all of a sudden. They sit down, where he questions where she sees herself in five years. She claims she doesn’t know and wonders why he wants to know. Nick admits that he sees himself with her and laments not being able to spend as much time with her lately. He declares that their relationship is his primary focus, no matter what happens with his grants. As he hugs her, she gazes over at Daniel across the room.

Daniel later approaches Nick and Chelsea at the table and has to go. He tells Nick to keep an eye on Chelsea. “I already do,” states Nick. After Daniel walks off, Chelsea asks Nick what the comment was all about. Nick says it’s a guy thing, which she wouldn’t understand.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Philip orders someone on the phone named Jake to find someone within one week. Chloe emerges and assumes the call was about Brady, which Phil confirms. She desponds how her life is a mess and reveals that the Austrian consulate left her a message, which surprises Philip. He offers to take care of it. Chloe worries about what will happen, since she’s the number one suspect in Brady’s disappearance and she might go to prison. “I could die in prison!” she fears. Philip takes her in his arms and comforts her just as Nicole emerges. A nosey Nicole asks what the two of them were talking about. “Nothing!” snaps Chloe. Philip says they were discussing a missing Brady. Nicole innocently claims she just found out and asks if there’s anything she can do. “Why don’t you go back to where you came from?” suggests Chloe as she gets in Nicole’s face. Philip asks Chloe to give him a minute alone with Nicole. Nicole proposes making a drink and agrees to talk to him under one condition. “What do you want?” demands Philip. She affirms that their discussion will have to be over a nice dinner and a deliciously expensive bottle of wine. She then suggests Chez Rouge. He agrees to get the car. After he exits, Nicole picks up the phone and requests the number to the Austrian consulate.

EJ and Sami arrive at Chez Rouge, where he encourages her to keep up their ruse for the immigration agent. Maggie happily greets them and asks if they’ll be having an early dinner tonight. “Yes. I’m going to romance my beautiful wife,” declares EJ.

EJ and Sami are seated, where he suggests ordering a bottle of fine wine. She tells him to cut it out, as she can’t keep up their charade. Maggie brings them wine and notes how fate keeps bringing the two of them together. EJ notes how fantastic the wine is, then notices how quiet Sami is. Sami is annoyed and states that the two of them are not fated to be together. EJ smiles and claims he agrees, but insists that he needs to stay in the country and be a father to his son. Sami agrees to help him and maintain the charade of his loving wife. She assures him that he can be in Johnny’s life as long as he wants. “What about when Lucas comes back?” he questions. Sami affirms that EJ is still Johnny’s father and mutters how it’s not like Lucas is coming home anytime soon. She confesses that she misses Lucas a lot, which EJ knows. Sami questions how he could know, since he hates Lucas. EJ denies hating Lucas and claims he’s moved on from Lucas’s mistake. He states that he forgives Lucas for shooting him, especially after all the “shotty” things he has done in the past. Sami appears skeptical of this. EJ assumes that if somebody does something unforgivable to her, then it stays in the same “unforgivable” category.
