Sami is angry with Lucas for his unromantic attempt at a proposal. Lucas promises to take Sami out for a very romantic evening to celebrate their engagement if her answer is yes! Kate faints when Lucas reveals he proposed to Sami.

Nicole is enjoying working with Brady at Titan and he comments how they make a great team. Nicole exits, just missing Kate and John. John speaks privately with Brady and offers his son his old job at Basic Black. Brady refuses. John realizes Brady is not going to change his mind and the conversation segues to Marlena. John tells Brady to please keep Marlena's missing corpse a secret from Belle.

The inhabitants of New Salem are stunned to see their beloved family and friends, via live TV feed, as they enjoy a night at the Penthouse Grill. On the island, the castaways realize that life is charging full speed ahead in Salem without them. Maggie is particularly shocked to see Mickey with Bonnie and Marlena is thrilled to see Sami and John appearing to get along.

Belle fantasizes about Shawn asking her to marry him. Jan continues to send video feeds of Philip and Belle to Shawn back in the cage and also manages to record Belle saying things that definitely seem to indicate she is not in love with Shawn anymore. Kate tells Philip that he is her only chance for happiness. Rex, with Mimi, confronts Kate about being the "forgotten" son. Kate sincerely assures him she loves, cares and worries about him as much as she does her other children.

On the island, Marlena, Roman, Abe, and Doug accuse Tony of deliberately breaking their transmitter. Tony adamantly denies yet they are all confident he is lying. Tony swears he is innocent but can't help but look guilty when they hear beeping from his PDA. It turns out his battery is just low. Roman and Abe swear they'll fix the machine and continue to transmit the signal until they're rescued.

Mimi and Rex run into Belle and Philip while they are walking home. Rex questions Philip's intentions. Is Belle the woman he truly loves? Mimi confesses to Belle that she suspects Philip has feelings for her. Later, two young tough guys attempt to pick up Belle and Mimi and Philip and Rex overreact, beat the two guys up and result in greatly upsetting Belle and Mimi.

Roman and Abe realize that without Hope to lead them through the force field there will be no way of saving Jennifer, Jack, Patrick and the baby. Roman appeals to Marlena and asks if there is anything she can give Hope to bring her back to consciousness. Marlena says there might be one thing but it's dangerous.

Hope is getting stronger but is panicked that she lost the coin they need to get through the force field. They have to find Jennifer, Patrick, and Jack. Abe and Doug go out to look for the coin, Marlena tends to Hope and Roman repairs the transmitter. Abe and Doug find the coin near the force field. Doug is forced to stay behind to take care of the others (Maggie and Alice) and to make sure the transmitter keeps working.

On the island, the mystery man disables the force field and Marlena, Hope, Roman, and Abe are able to pass through. As they move through the dark jungle, Roman falls into a covered pit and impales his foot on a sharpened stake. Abe and Hope continue on to find Jennifer, Patrick, and Jack. Marlena stays behind to tend to wounded Roman. Marlena sees Roman's foot is badly infected and he insists on looking at it. Marlena distracts him by giving him a passionate kiss...
