Tony and E.J. are in Stefanos hospital room, where the Phoenix admits that hes not sure who he can trust, since both of his sons have betrayed him. Tony warns Stefano how surprised hell be when he finds out who has taken control of the DiMera empire. Stefano deduces that its his half brother, John Black. He reveals that John himself told him, but wants to wait for the right moment before he makes his grand reentry. Tony asks Stefano when John told him about being a DiMera. Shortly after they took me to the facility, he replies, as he reveals that he was aware of everything that went on around him. We see a flashback to the February 26 episode when John dropped the bomb that they were half brothers and taunted Stefano. Stefano comes back to reality and vows to make John and everyone else who betrayed him pay. He vows that John Black will be his pawn again, as he was before. E.J. tells Stefano that John isnt the man he used to be, referring to John as brash and hostile. Tony refers to John as difficult. Poor Marlena. What she must be going through, remarks Stefano.
Tony and E.J. are clearly uncomfortable as Stefano chuckles how both of his sons are bending over backwards to help him. E.J. insists that they both care about him very much. Stefano brings up how they both sold him out to Marlena and the rest of Salem. E.J. admits that he told Marlena where John was in hopes that it would help win over Sami. Stefano is determined to make certain that the person who is responsible for him lying in the hospital bed pays dearly. And who would that be? questions E.J. Stefano reveals that Marlena Evans did this to him and vows to make her pay. Tony and E.J. are dubious. Marlena set out to destroy my life, and now I have the pleasure of returning the favor, he implies.
