Question: Who Was Eric Peters?
Stanley Kamel, who portrayed Eric Peters from 1972-1976, sadly passed away on April 8, 2008. Many long-time DAYS fans remember Stanley’s character of Eric. For those who aren’t familiar with the character of Eric Peters, here’s a little background information.
Answer: Eric Peters is the son of Phil and Anne Peters and the brother of Dr. Greg Peters. Stanley Kamel took over the role in January of 1972 from John Lombardo. Eric raped Susan Hunter Martin in the park, which resulted in the birth of daughter Annie Peters in late 1972. Susan was involved with Eric’s brother Greg at the time and married him in 1973. Eric wrote a novel, entitled In My Brother’s Shadow, and one chapter in this novel disguised the story of Eric raping Susan in the park. Greg eventually read the chapter and thus discovered that his brother had raped Susan. As a result, Greg savagely beat his brother. Susan and Greg divorced in 1976. Eric and Susan left town and headed to California that same year.
