Answer: Mimi and Max were locked in a church basement in late 2006 thanks to Victor Kiriakis. During their brief imprisonment, they discovered an old skeleton wearing a Civil War uniform. After a police investigation, it was revealed that the old skeleton was Mimi's deceased father, David Lockhart. After confronting her mother, Bonnie, Mimi was horrified to realize that she had killed her father in self-defense as a teenager and had blocked out the incident for years. Bonnie convinced her daughter to leave town just to be sure she could keep mum about the incident and Bonnie would take the rap for Mimi. Mimi was so devastated and traumatized by the revelation that she left Salem for Arizona to be with her brother Connor.
