Belle and an angry Shawn arrive back home as Belle asks him not to walk away from her. She swears that she didnt mean to do anything wrong that night. Shawn indicates that she may have destroyed his career before it has even started. I was trying to help you, insists Belle. I didnt ask for your help, and I sure as he!! didnt ask for Philips either, counters Shawn. Belle defends Philip and claims that the department doesnt have to find out it was a set-up. Shawn asserts that Philip wants to see them break up and doesnt want to see them happy. A pouty Belle finally hands over the keys per his request before they go in. She tries to explain herself, but he cuts her off and wishes to just go to bed. Their tense mood is interrupted by Hopes knock on the door. Shawn opens the door and Hope wonders if shes intruding. An uptight Belle hugs Hope before leaving the two of them to talk.
Hope asks how the reunion went. Shawn claims it was awful since Philip was there. He doesnt want to talk about it, but Hope persists. He has a flashback to Belle revealing that she and Phil planted the gun. Hope questions what Philip did at the reunion. Belle re-enters the room and hands the phone to Shawn, who exits the room and chats with Claire. Alone with Belle, Hope questions if anything happened with Philip at the reunion. Belle relays how Chloe told Shawn about seeing her with Philip the other night, leaving out the dirty details. Hope reminds Belle of the promise she made to never see Philip again. Shawn re-enters and asks his mom if they can catch up later. After Hope leaves, Shawn wonders what Belle told his mom. I told her that we didnt exactly have the time of our lives, replies Belle. Good for you. You didnt lie for a change, jeers Shawn.
Shawn later gazes out the window before Belle tries to assure him that the gun situation can be fixed. Shawn accuses her of not only making him look brainless with Philips help, but also making him out to be a criminal. When somebody conceals or withholds information on somebody who has committed a crime, that is also a crime, Belle, he declares. Belle apologizes. Shawn warns her that if he doesnt come forward and reveal what he knows about the gun, then hes legally guilty. Belle wonders if hes going to have her arrested, but he affirms that its about doing the right thing. An agitated Belle insists that no-one needs to know how he stumbled upon the gun deal. Shawn fumes how Philip is always trying to push him back down and Belles right there helping him. Belle tries to explain, but Shawn urges her to choose between him and Philip and insists that she cant have them both. Belle continues to insist that she and Phil were trying to help him, but Shawn refuses to believe that Philip would ever try to help him. She climbs beside him in bed and wonders if he wants to be alone or wants her in his bed. Of course I do. But Im just not sure that thats where you want to be, he replies before turning out the light. She finally rolls over and turns out her light after gazing at him.
Downstairs at the pub, Bo notes how quiet Billie got all of a sudden. He states that there were at least four guns at the church that night and suspects that Lucas was one of them. The two go back and forth with their cat and mouse game before Bo questions if Lucas stayed at his apartment that night or if he took a trip over to the church.
Bo invites Billie to take a seat. Billie has a brief flashback to Lucas yelling at her to do him a favor. Bo brings her coffee as Billie recalls how she went straight over to Lucass apartment after the shooting and he was there with the twins. Bo reveals that hes already caught Lucas in a couple of lies and figures that Lucas would confide in his big sister. Well if he trusts me he knows I can keep my mouth shut, she theorizes, then reminds Bo how shes kept her mouth shut for him before. Billie coyly wonders if hes threatening her when he insinuates that people in the security business need to remain friendly with people in law enforcement. Bo states that she can count on him when the chips are down. Billie claims shell do anything to help, then sighs before revealing that Lucas went to the church that night. She recalls how Lucas openly admitted that he went to the wedding and hired a registered nurse to stay with the twins. Bo wishes Lucas was as up-front with him as he was with Billie. Billie speculates that Bo wouldve jumped to conclusions if Lucas had spilled the whole truth. Billie affirms that Lucas didnt shoot EJ, which he swore to. Bo wonders what Lucas did after he left the church. He went back to the apartment, he paid the nurse, and he worried about Sami, recounts Billie. Bo reveals that he spoke to a gun dealer in Cincinnati, who confirmed that Lucas bought two guns, one of which is locked up in the evidence room and the other which is still at large. Billie swears she didnt know anything about a gun and fumes how Lucas is her brother and has been given a raw deal by the stupid DiMeras. She admits how guilty she feels by spilling her guts to Bo and asks him to cut Lucas a break. Bo claims he will before Billie leaves.
Hope rejoins her husband. Bo reveals that Billie confirmed that Lucas was at the wedding and hired a nurse to stay with the twins. They leave on their mission to track the nurse down.
Lucass apartment, Sami asks whats going on as Lucas walks out the door. He reiterates that he needs to pick up a package. Of investment papers, concludes a suspicious Sami. He claims that hes going through them tonight so he can make his move in the morning. So youre choosing that investment over me? she coyly wonders. Lucas tells her not to do that since shes not fighting fair. She briefly kisses him in an attempt to seduce him into other activities. He concocts a story about not trusting the delivery service, then kisses her and promises hell be back to focus his attention on her.
Out in the hall, Lucas makes a call and informs Kate (we assume) that hes on his way to pick up the package. After Lucas leaves, a mysterious man wearing a headset says, He just left.
