Horton Cabin
Chloe is wearing a sexy red teddy and has just opened the door to find Daniel standing there. Daniel looks at her with lust and kisses her. Chloe takes hm by the hand and leads him in, where they get hot and heavy on the bed. It turns out to be another one of Daniel’s fantasies, as Chloe brings him back to reality and asks him how he unlocked the door. He stammers that he had a spare key. Chloe urges him to go, since Lucas will be arriving any minute. He begins to explain that he had something to deliver from Kate, but Chloe yells at him to leave and slams the door on his finger.
As Daniel later bandages his finger, Chloe expresses how terrible she feels for slamming the door on his finger. She helps him bandage it and they exchange longing glances. Chloe questions why he’s there. Daniel reiterates that he came to do a favor to Kate, but Chloe doesn’t believe him and wonders if he came to check up on her. They argue as Lucas arrives home just in time, wondering what’s going on. Chloe asks Lucas what took him so long. Lucas complains how the tow truck took two hours instead of thirty minutes. He asks Daniel what brings him to the island. Daniel hands over the gift from Kate to Chloe. They both thank him and an awkward Daniel finally leaves, needing to take a cold shower.
Chloe holds the box and remarks how sweet it was for Kate to have the gift hand delivered to her. Lucas questions what’s going on between her and Daniel, noting how she wouldn’t even look at him. “You don’t like him, do you?” assumes Lucas. Chloe wonders what difference it makes whether or not she likes him, reminding Lucas how he’s Kate’s doctor. Lucas recalls how awkward things were between the two. Chloe claims that Daniel’s upset with her for not checking in with him before she left the hospital. She suggests that they drop the topic of Daniel and open the gift. She is overwhelmed to see a beautiful necklace which Bill Horton gave to Kate a long time ago on Christmas Eve. Lucas encourages her to try it on, but Chloe says she can’t accept it.
Titan
Brady comes to see Victor asks what’s going on, recalling how mysterious he sounded on the phone about the future of Titan. Victor assures Brady that the company is thriving, which is quite an accomplishment considering the state of the economy. He wants Brady to come back to work for him. This surprises Brady, who doesn’t know why Victor would put him in charge of anything, reminding him that he’s fresh out of rehab. Victor is only concerned with Brady staying clean and advises his grandson not to sell himself short, remarking how his recovery is quite an accomplishment. He offers Brady the position of Vice CEO of Titan and agrees to iron out the details later. Brady is touched that his grandfather has this kind of faith in him. Victor affirms that he didn’t make his decision lightly and commends Brady on his maturity. Brady wonders how Philip will feel about his coming on board. Victor says Philip knows what’s good for the company and offers to show Brady his office. Brady isn’t ready to accept the job yet and offers to get back to him.
DiMera Mansion
Dr. Baker has just arrived demanding his $750,000 from Nicole. E.J. emerges and is surprised to find Dr. Baker standing at the door. Nicole claims she asked Dr. Baker to come, since E.J. had concerns about the doctor being her OB/GYN. E.J. reminds her that they already discussed it and put their concerns aside, although he had reservations about the doctor’s clinic. Nicole invites him in, but E.J. doesn’t understand what Nicole’s trying to prove. “That, uh, I’m in perfectly good hands with Dr. Baker. Right Doctor?” she implies. Dr. Baker declares that he’s very proud of his practice and doesn’t feel the need to defend it or himself to Nicole. He states that he came to speak to Nicole in private. Nicole encourages E.J. not to worry, since the doctor came to examine her. As Nicole and the doctor head upstairs, E.J. tells her not to be too long, as the ice cream is melting.
Nicole and Dr. Baker are upstairs, where the doctor affirms that he’s in no mood for games. Nicole reiterates that she needs time and doesn’t have the money laying around right now. She states that she and E.J. aren’t married or even engaged, and all she gets is an allowance. Dr. Baker says they have nothing more to discuss unless she comes up with the money. Nicole rehashes how she lost her baby girl and expresses how empty she feels inside, trying to soften the doctor up. “I deserve to be a mother!” she insists. “I’m sorry Ms. Walker. You’ll have to find someone else to play this charade with you,” he announces.
Dr. Baker begins to walk out the door, but Nicole insists that she’ll get him the money. The doctor accuses Nicole of stringing him along. A desperate Nicole promises to get him the money tomorrow. “The game ends tomorrow, Nicole,” warns the doctor. E.J. comes upstairs and reminds the doctor that he was going to speak to him. He notes how upset Nicole looks. Nicole claims that everything’s fine, she’s just a little emotional. E.J. asks how the check-up went. “We’ll know more tomorrow,” demurs Dr. Baker.
After Dr. Baker heads out, Nicole clarifies that the doctor is giving them another day to decide if they want him as her OB. E.J. assures her that he’ll go with whatever makes her happy. He gives her a couple brief smooches. Nicole laughs how she’s craving a hamburger and French fries, then asks him if he can go to the pub to fetch her a burger and fries. E.J. agrees to go and kisses her.
After E.J. leaves, Nicole phones Brady needing his help. Brady soon arrives at the mansion and Nicole warns him that E.J. will be back any minute. He questions if E.J. knows that she’s faking her pregnancy. “Would I still be in the mansion if he did?” retorts Nicole. She needs a loan in the amount of a million dollars from him. Brady chuckles and wonders why she would need that kind of money. Nicole complains how Dr. Baker won’t keep quiet unless she stuffs his mouth full of cash. Brady says he doesn’t have that kind of money.
