Family and friends gather at the Brady Pub for Grandpa Shawn's wake. Kimberly bids heartfelt good-byes to her family. Bo is rushed back to the hospital, where Lexie reveals that his pancreas is failing. Tony's new secretary quits on him after Anna feeds her lies about him. Tony plants a forced kiss on Anna. Ava targets Hope, thinking she's Kayla.
Family and friends gather at St. Luke's for Grandpa Shawn's funeral. Roman, Kimberly, Kayla, and Bo give heartfelt eulogies. Caroline bids a tearful farewell to her beloved husband. Steve spots Ava outside the church. EJ comforts Sami. John displays a glimpse of emotion. Chloe sings a beautiful song at the funeral.
Ava vows revenge on Steve. Caroline invites EJ to the funeral. Caroline makes arrangements to give Grandpa Shawn an Irish wake. EJ comforts a distressed Sami. Steve confronts crazy Ava. Steve and Kayla return home from the hospital. The Theta girls decide to forgive Chelsea. Steph and Morgan comfort Max.
Anna accuses Tony of not respecting her. Tony tries to get Anna to spend the night with him. EJ isn't too thrilled when Sami brings up the subject of annulment. Ava lurks around the hospital. Steve receives a threatening note from Ava. Marlena tells EJ, Sami, Tony, and Anna the story of Colleen and John. John intends to live at the DiMera mansion and wants his share of the DiMera assets.
Roman, Caroline, and Sami sob upon discovering that Grandpa Shawn has died. Kayla's doctor warns her against stress. Victor demands answers from Chloe regarding Brady's disappearance. Philip asks Chloe to come home with him. Steve tells Stephanie about Kayla's pregnancy. Victor vows to do all he can to help Bo. John wants to go to the DiMera mansion.
Hope continues to worry over Bo. Steve comforts a sobbing Kayla. John and Marlena make love, as do Shawn and Belle. Philip and Chloe refrain from having sex. Victor and Caroline bond over their son. Nick and Kate comfort a distraught Chelsea. The crash survivors rejoice in seeing a helicopter above.
Several Salemites gather at St. Luke's to pray for their loved ones. Bo regains consciousness and grieves for his dead pop. The survivors seek shelter and huddle close in an effort to stay warm. Marlena kisses John. Shawn and Belle get amorous, as do Philip and Chloe.
Chelsea, Steph, and Max await news about the status of the plane. Max lays into Lexie for the problems her family has caused. Abe has bad news from the FAA. John bonds with Claire. Marlena and Hope attempt to revive Bo. Steve has broken ribs. John helps put Marlena's dislocated shoulder back in place. Philip's prosthetic leg gets crushed. Kayla tells Steve that she's pregnant.
Abe and Roman maintain contact with Homeland Security in an attempt to find John's plane. Max, Chelsea, Stephanie, Lexie, and Caroline await word on their loved ones at the police station. The passengers run out of air before Steve and John manage to regain control of the plane and descend. Grandpa Shawn says good-bye to Hope and Kayla before taking his last breath.
Abe informs Lexie, Chelsea, and Stephanie that the plane is unable to make radio contact. The passengers aboard the plane are in John's hands as he attempts to fix the plane. John revives Steve after he passes out. Philip tries to calm a terrified Chloe down. Bo tells Hope that he's very ill. Grandpa Shawn refuses to take the oxygen mask. Belle professes her undying love for Shawn.
Marlena tells the passengers that the plane has been sabotaged. John and Marlena discover that the pilots were drugged. Abe tells Sami and EJ that they can leave the safe house. EJ requests to spend more time with Allie. Sami watches the DVD from Lucas. Max and Stephanie decide to take things slow.
John consults with the pilots as they they lose cabin pressure. The tension builds in the cabin as everyone worries about their safety. Victor and Caroline tell Chelsea the story about how Bo came into the world. Roman assures Kate that he'll talk to the warden regarding Lucas.
Everyone boards the plane ready to head back to Salem. Steve spots the mystery woman and chases after her. Marlena questions John about his feelings. Philip questions Chloe on whether she'll stay with Brady once he's found. Sami and Lucas profess their undying love for one another. Tony and Anna visit EJ and the twins at the safe house.
EJ comforts a distressed Sami. Sami and EJ share a close moment as Sami prepares to leave for Lucas's sentencing. Stephanie, Nick, and Chelsea throw a surprise birthday party for Max. Steph kisses Max. Family members scatter Colleen's ashes in Ireland. John sees the ghosts of Santo and Colleen reunite. Steve spots a mystery woman and chases after her.
Philip and Chloe grow closer. Lexie phones Philip, insisting she needs to get ahold of Kayla. Family members gather around Colleen for an emotional farewell before she dies in John's arms. John infuriates Grandpa Shawn. John shows a shred of humanity after his mother passes away. Shawn and Belle agree to work on their marriage. Lexie calls Kayla and tells her that she's pregnant.
Morgan tells Chelsea that the girls will vote on her future sorority status. Nick assures Chelsea of his love. Philip and Chloe commiserate over their lost loves. Colleen gives Belle her medallion. Bo stops John from killing himself, but John attacks him in the process. Marlena urges John to allow her to hypnotize him. Colleen tells Grandpa Shawn that she's dying.
