Your Family is Evil!

By Gwen Morett, About.com

At the police station, Abe is on the phone demanding for an update on John’s plane. Lexie and Chelsea are nearby awaiting word when Max and Stephanie arrive. Max informs Chelsea that Caroline’s at home and he’ll call her if they hear anything. Stephanie and Chelsea continue to worry for their families. Roman emerges and reveals that he got a hold of his contact at the FAA, who have confirmed that the plane fell out of range and they can’t pick it up on radar. He states that a rescue team is already on the way and hopefully the radar thing is just a technical glitch.

Max, Steph, and Chelsea later wonder what Roman and Abe are discussing in the other room. Max rants how Roman sometimes treats him like a kid brother instead of an adult. Steph consoles Max as he worries about his Pop, especially since his mom doesn’t do well when he’s not around. Back in Abe’s office, Roman admits that he’d feel a hell of a lot better if John Black wasn’t on the plane.

Abe later hangs up the phone and reveals to the gang that the FAA still can’t find John’s plane. An agitated Max wonders how hard it can be to track it down. Chelsea wonders if Stefano DiMera could be behind the ordeal, since every time something bad happens to her family he’s involved. Lexie states that he’s been in a coma. “Maybe someone’s taking on your family tradition of torturing the Bradys. Maybe someone like your brother EJ,” suggests Max. Lexie remarks how EJ’s the one who turned Stefano into the authorities. Max lays into Lexie for defending EJ, rehashing how EJ’s sole purpose for coming to Salem was to destroy his family. (Bravo Max for pointing this out)! “Your family is evil!” declares Max before he storms out of the room for some air.

Max later apologizes for going off on Lexie, but she’s understanding. He rehashes how his biological father was abusive towards him. Lexie smiles how they’re both lucky that they weren’t raised by their real fathers. He admits worrying that he’ll turn out like his father. Lexie can relate, since Stefano’s talked her into some pretty despicable schemes. She hugs Max and assures him that they will find his Pop and everyone else and get them back safely.

Meanwhile, Chelsea tells Steph how she feels as though they should be doing something to help She suggests calling Billie, but Steph encourages her to wait until they have more facts. Chelsea rehashes how the last time she saw Bo he was trying to get her to tell the truth about Ford and he expressed disappointment in her. Max approaches the ladies and tries to assure them that everyone will be home soon. He later comforts a distraught Steph, who recalls how they were all getting a fresh start before the missing plane incident happened. Steph cries how she and her mom were by themselves for a long time and were best friends before her dad came back. “And now I might be losing both of them,” she desponds. He kisses her after she admits how glad she is that he’s there. Chelsea, Lexie, and Roman enter before Abe emerges from his office looking like he has bad news. “That was the FAA. They’ve come to the conclusion that John’s plane is down,” he gravely reveals.

The plane has crashed and we see John get up and shine a flashlight. He spots Steve, who is lying down unconscious, then scopes the rest of the scenery out. We see Bo, Chloe, and Marlena’s lifeless bodies lying around. John continues to look for survivors and re-approaches Steve. He flicks Steve’s eye patch wondering if he needs to save his life yet again. He remarks how cold it is and quips how he must’ve landed the plane at the North Pole. “Hey Santa Claus? I’ve been a pretty good boy this year. How about a brand new shiny jet? It would make a terrific Christmas present,” he announces. Belle moans in the background and calls for her daddy. Shawn calls out Belle’s name. Claire is apparently okay when she asks, “Can you guys please get off me?” Shawn takes his daughter and notes that she doesn’t have a bruise or a scratch on her. When Claire says she wants some juice, John notes how she cuts right to the chase. “Maybe you are my granddaughter,” he suggests. Belle asks her dad if everyone else is okay. John doesn’t know since no-one else has spoken, but thinks they’re all mad at him because the landing was rough. “But I’m glad you’re okay Dink,” he adds. “It’s Tink. Your nickname for me is Tink,” clarifies Belle. Shawn proceeds to go find everyone. Belle tells John to watch Claire while she checks on everyone. “You can’t leave me with this munchkin. No offense,” he says as Claire looks up at him adoringly. Belle approaches Chloe and notes she has a pretty bad cut. She attends to an unconscious Philip and both ladies become alarmed when he doesn’t respond. Philip soon awakens and tells Chloe to stop hitting him. Belle then proceeds to go find her mom. Meanwhile, Claire goes with John and asks if he found any juice and if they’re going home. John claims that this area may turn out to be their home and they should probably start building an igloo.

Marlena wakes up and calls for Belle. Belle tends to Marlena, who insists she’s okay, but feels a pain. Shawn approaches Hope and assures her that Belle and Claire are safe. She tells Shawn to check on Bo. Shawn notes that Bo’s pulse is weak, but he’s alive. Kayla awakens and sobs over her dead pop. Shawn asks her if she’s okay, then realizes that his Grandpa Shawn is gone. “Your grandfather gave up his oxygen so we could all live,” quivers Kayla. Shawn sadly embraces his grandfather.

“Look what I found,” jingles John. Claire is delighted that he found some juice. John found some grown up juice for himself and proposes that they make a toast to his “skillful landing” and to him. He advises Claire to never leave other kids in charge of her toys and not to take life so seriously, recalling the way the adults got so bent out of shape regarding the plane crash. Kayla approaches John and asks if he found Steve. He nonchalantly replies that he’s “over there somewhere.”
