Belle approaches Shawn and comforts him over the loss of his grandpa. She asks about Bo. Hope quietly informs her that Bo’s unconscious, but alive. She asks about Marlena. Belle says she’s fine. Shawn asks Belle to check on Claire and grab some firewood.
Chloe notes to Philip what a miracle it is that they survived the crash. Philip believes his leg is crushed, which alarms Chloe. He tells her to relax, since it’s his prosthetic leg stuck underneath the wreckage. He laughs at the irony of his fake leg getting crushed. Chloe attempts to get the wreckage off his leg, but he assures her that they’ll figure it out. Phil laughs again when Chloe attempts to move the wreckage off his leg. “I told you to stop laughing you jerk!” she exclaims. He refers to it as battlefield humor, which sometimes is the only thing that gets him through these dire situations. She implores him to pull his leg as hard as she can while she tries to lift it again. He believes he’ll have to detach his leg so he can help her get the wreckage off and asks if it’s going to weird her out. “No, of course not,” she responds. She later asks him if he can fix it. He thinks so, but doubts he’ll be running marathons anytime soon. This elicits a chuckle from Chloe. “Does that mean no piggy-back rides as a reward for helping you?” she jokes. “I thought helping the helpless was it’s own reward, Chloe,” he responds before laughing.
Marlena runs into John, who notes that she messed up her hair. “I thought you were watching Claire,” she says. “Her parents broke up all the fun,” he quips. She reveals that she’s dislocated her shoulder and is in a lot of pain and needs his help. He throws a couple of wisecracks in before she implores him to pull and rotate, even though she’ll probably scream. She gives out a few screams while he fulfills her request. “Are we done yet?” he asks. She urges him to pull and rotate again until he feels it. She moans and thanks him when he does the trick. He questions if she sticks around because she likes it when he hurts her. “I stick around because I love you!” she affirms.
Meanwhile, a distraught Kayla begs for Steve to wake up. She reveals that she’s carrying his baby and cries how she needs him. She breaks down when Steve doesn’t respond. As she sobs, Steve mutters “Sweetness, don’t cry.” Kayla is overwhelmed with emotion and showers him with kisses. She surmises that he has some broken ribs. Steve asks where John is. She replies that he’s somewhere walking around in perfect condition not helping anybody. A weary Steve claims he heard a rumor that he made her pregnant. She cries how they did it and made a baby. John approaches Kayla and asks how Steve’s doing. She asks him to find some blankets along with Marlena’s medical bag so she can examine Steve. John soon returns with the supplies. Steve notes to John what a nice landing he made. John admits that he couldn’t have done it without him. Steve encourages Kayla to sit down, but she assures him that she and the baby are fine. She tells him to just be quiet and let her do her job as a doctor. She then tells him to lift his shirt up so she can look for lacerations. “I know you. You just wanna see me naked,” jests a weary Steve. He then gasps in pain, which causes Kayla to deduce that he has a punctured lung.
Hope and Shawn worry about Bo, who is still unconscious. A distressed Hope reveals to Shawn that his dad is very sick and was going to be admitted to the hospital as soon as they returned to Salem. Shawn pleads with his dad to wake up, then realizes that he isn’t breathing. “Oh my God!” wails Hope, who then yells at Bo to fight while she performs CPR on him. Hope panics when she can’t get Bo’s heart started and asks Marlena what she should do. Marlena tells her to keep doing CPR. Marlena rushes off to get an automated defibrillator (AED) briefly while Hope opens his shirt and desperately continues CPR. Marlena attaches the AED to Bo and attempts to revive him. They keep trying to shock him. Shawn and Hope are relieved that Bo is finally breathing again.
John later chugs his “grown up juice” down before Belle insists that she needs him to watch Claire, noting how for some reason she prefers to hang out with him. He claims he’s kind of busy at the moment, but she needs to go check on the others and make sure they’re okay. He mentions how he was saving his juice for a Screwdriver, but gives it to a chuckling Claire and notes how she likes that juice. “That’s a fact,” she responds. “So what do we do now?” he asks. “Go home,” she answers. He tells her to put her hands over her ears. He then fires a flare which lights up the dark sky. “Pretty,” marvels Claire. John puts his arm around Claire and agrees.
Kayla proceeds to look for some meds for an injured Steve, then has pains of her own and thinks it’s the baby.
