A Wonderful and Selfless Act

By Gwen Morett, About.com

Max and Stephanie enter the Theta house after engaging in a snowball fight outside. They joke about their snowball fight, which Steph won. Things get playful as Max puts his arm around her but she tenses up. Max quickly apologizes. Steph then asks him for lunch, but he declines since he has to be at work early. Max then refers to her as hot, but Steph isn’t exactly receptive. He stutters and claims he didn’t mean it like that, only that she seemed flushed. He awkwardly asks if she’s coming down with a fever. She assures him that she’s fine and affirms that he’s her friend. She then thanks him for sticking by her side, admitting that she would’ve never been able to get through therapy otherwise. Max refers to her as one of the most together people he knows, then jokes how she still throws like a girl. “Well this girl just whipped your butt in a snowball fight!” she enthuses. She expresses how much she appreciates everything he’s done, then leans in and kisses him. Afterwards, he apologizes for their kiss and proceeds to get going. She asks him to tell Adrienne that she’ll offer to take a shift this weekend. Max asks if she’s sure she’s up for it. Steph relays how Dr. Whitney suggested she should get back to her usual routine, then jokes about beating some guy in a snowball fight. Chelsea emerges and says hi to Max before he leaves.

Chelsea warns Steph that they’re in big trouble, since Billie knows. She alerts Steph that Ford’s contact lens was found in the basement and now a suspicious Billie wants to question the girls. Steph urges Chelsea to find a way to keep Nick’s mouth shut, since Morgan, Max, and the other girls are counting on them to keep Ford’s death a secret. Chelsea offers to act alone, since it was her idea to get revenge on Ford. Steph implores Chelsea to think about everyone involved, then get Nick to understand that he can’t spill to the police. Chelsea agrees with Nick, in that they should take responsibility for their actions and tell the truth. Stephanie warns Chelsea that if she tells the truth, she’ll go to jail. Chelsea predicts that if they don’t confess and the police find out on their own, then they’ll go to jail for sure. Steph suggests that maybe the contact lens doesn’t belong to Ford. Chelsea relays how she tried the “maybe it isn’t his” routine on her mom, but it didn’t work. Chelsea admits how badly she feels for Ford’s family and can’t imagine the nightmare they must be going through. “What about the nightmare I’ve been going through because of that son of a bitch?” cries Stephanie. Chelsea wonders what she means by that. Steph covers and claims she meant Cordy, but Chelsea doesn’t buy it. They are interrupted by a pounding on the door. Chelsea answers it to Ford’s father, who declares that the police found Ford’s contact lens in the basement. Chelsea tries the whole “How do you know it was his?” theory, but Crawford accuses them of lying. Steph reminds Crawford that Ford left the house that night, which is on the surveillance video. “You killed him,” he insists. Crawford pleads for them to confess what they did with Ford’s body. He vows to find out what happened to Ford and make sure they spend the rest of their lives in prison. “Your son is the one who belongs in prison! He drugs women and he rapes them! And I know because he raped Cordy and he raped me!” proclaims Stephanie. Crawford doesn’t believe it and notes that her confession sounds like a motive. He threatens to make sure that she hangs on her own words, then storms out. A frantic Steph predicts that Crawford will make Ford look like the victim while making the Theta sisters look like sorority killers.

Chelsea and Steph later sit down as Chelsea wonders why Steph didn’t tell her about the rape. Steph claims she couldn’t, but told Max and her mom. She cries how ashamed, angry, and ashamed she was, but still couldn’t bring herself to tell anyone. She tearfully recalls how she begged him to stop but he wouldn’t and laments how she didn’t say anything before, since Ford might’ve been in jail. Chelsea apologizes for Steph’s pain, but clarifies that the current crisis is about a guy who is dead because of the girls. She predicts that it’s only a matter of time before they get caught and suggests they call all the girls over and discuss what they need to do. Steph storms off in a huff and Chelsea makes a call summoning someone back to the house right away, insisting that it’s extremely important.

Philip, along with Belle’s guard and the other police officers, are at the kidnaping scene. Philip leaves a message for Belle. Sami frantically comes rushing over to Philip asking what happened. He relays how he was on the phone with Belle when a couple of shots rang out and Belle screamed for help, and now Belle and Claire are gone. Sami is horrified. Philip notes there was no blood in the car and no indication of a struggle. Philip says he couldn’t get a hold of Roman and he hasn’t yet tried Marlena. Sami implores him not to call Marlena yet, since she has a lot going on. She then asks where Shawn is. Philip stammers before admitting that Shawn doesn’t know about the kidnaping yet. “You haven’t been able to reach him either?” assumes Sami. “I haven’t tried,” confesses Philip. A frantic Sami reminds him that Shawn and Belle are still married and Claire’s his daughter. Thus, Shawn deserves to know. Philip agrees to call Shawn while Sami proceeds to find Roman.

Shawn and Chloe enter the pub, where she thanks him for taking her ice skating. He suggests they take Claire next time. “Are you sure your butt can take it?” she jokes. He mentions how he fell one time, but two if she counts the snowman incident. She accepts his invitation. He proposes to call Belle and run it by her, since he doesn’t want Belle to ever accuse him of taking Claire somewhere without her ever knowing about it. “In case there’s a custody battle?” questions Chloe. Shawn asks her not to go there, since he doesn’t want Claire to ever go through that. Chloe refers to him as a great father. They are interrupted by a call from Philip. “What a pleasant surprise,” quips Shawn.
