Shawn meets Bo outside Andre’s room at the hospital. Shawn relays that he heard about Andre’s escape from Hope. Bo tells his son to stay alert, since no Brady is safe at the moment. He then inquires how things are going at the garage. Shawn smiles as he says getting his hands dirty feels good. He then reveals that he’s thinking about asking Belle to marry him. Bo is of course excited at this news. Shawn expresses his desire for Belle, Claire, and him to be a family. He is unsure she’ll say yes, though, and admits that although he loves working at the garage, he just wishes he was pulling in some more money. Bo deduces that the problem is Philip and advises his son to forget about Philip, since he’s not the one who has Belle’s heart. He assures Shawn that the money situation will work itself out. Shawn discloses that he has a lot of debt and living with Philip is driving him nuts. Bo can’t understand why he agreed to live with Philip in the first place. Shawn replies because Claire was missing and thus Belle didn’t want to focus on anything else. Bo figures it’s hard for Shawn to see Philip playing second daddy to Claire. He implores Shawn to propose to Belle for the right reasons and assures him that he has a lot to offer, since Belle loves him and has since she was a kid. Bo then advises him to take his time, get his money together, find a place of his own, then pop the question. Roman then interrupts them and asks to borrow his little brother. Shawn complies and thanks his dad for the advice before leaving.
At the Brady Pub, Philip plays the latest phone call he received regarding a baby’s cry to Billie. She asks for the tape and implores him to sit down and make a list of anyone who has a grudge against him. Philip speculates that it could be anyone from a competitor of Titan Industries with an ax to grind. “I think this is personal,” she muses. Belle then walks in and waves at Philip. He is hopeful that the calls are nothing more than cranks. Billie does her imitation of a crank call, then goes under the assumption that this is personal and wonders who Philip has pissed off. She proceeds to call Phil’s cell carrier to find out where the calls are coming from. He thanks his sister. “Having a sister who’s an ex-cop has it’s perks,” notes Philip. He then tells Billie that Bo asked him if he had a kid out there that he may not be aware of and wonders why Billie didn’t pose the same question. She admits it crossed her mind, but figured Philip would’ve told her if he had a kid somewhere. He thanks her for the faith. Billie hugs him before walking off.
Belle then strolls up to Philip, anxiously waiting on some food for her date with Shawn at the beach. He presents her with a bag of gifts which contain expensive clothes for her and Claire. Belle is delighted and notes that it’s as if though he had her wish list. Philip confesses that he found a catalog with all kind of yellow stickies in it. She gushes that she was just “fantasy shopping” and expresses how sweet and generous he is, but can’t accept the clothes, since he’s done enough for her and Claire already. “I like doing things for you, and for Claire. It makes me happy,” smiles Philip. He deduces that the problem is Shawn. Belle admits that living with Philip has made Shawn feel as though he’s not pulling his own weight.
Shawn then shows up and spots Belle and Philip across the room, then sits down with Billie. He shows her the engagement ring for Belle. Billie is astonished and notes how gorgeous the ring is, assuring him that Belle will like it. She indirectly asks him how he paid for the ring. He admits that Max gave him an advance on his salary. He hypothetically asks her if she would say yes if some guy proposed to her with the ring. She undoubtedly would say yes and wishes him good luck on proposing to Belle.
Meanwhile, Philip assures Belle that he’s rooting for her and Shawn to make it. Shawn then approaches the two and wonders what’s with all the clothes. Belle hesitates before displaying the clothes for Shawn and lies that her mom took her shopping. He offers to pay Marlena back, but she convinces him otherwise. Shawn then walks away briefly to check on the goodies for the beach. Philip assures Belle that a tiny white lie won’t hurt anything. Belle refers to him as a girl’s dream come true. He then asks Belle if she ever questioned the flight to Cleveland which Shawn never took. She replies that Shawn stuck to his story and blows it off as a tiny white lie similar to the one which she just told. Shawn comes back with the food ready to leave with Belle. She quietly thanks Philip again for the gifts again, then kisses him on the cheek.
Billie later joins Philip and asks him if he knows anyone in Indianapolis who might have a grudge against him. Philip says no. Billie vows to track down the joker and find out what he has against Philip.
Belle and Shawn later admire the moonlight on the beach, noting how bright and sparkly the moon is. He then presents her with the ring, which blows her away. “Will you marry me?” he asks.
At Lumi’s apartment, EJ asks them if his briefcase is beeping. EJ is puzzled, since the only person who had access to the briefcase is Andre and he’s paralyzed. Lucas yells that it’s a bomb and orders Sami to move out of the way. “Stand back Sami!” he shouts. EJ begins to open the briefcase, which prompts Lucas to ask what he’s doing. A mysterious mist is then released. EJ backs away as Lucas holds Sami, attempting to protect her from the mist. Afterwards, EJ and Lucas moan as they slowly get up. EJ notes the mist was sulfur chloride and are thus lucky enough to be alive. Lucas then notices that Sami is missing. He yells for her and is alarmed to discover that she’s gone.
Bo and Roman later come over and insist that Andre was behind this latest stunt. EJ doubts it, since Andre’s in the hospital. Roman reveals that they found a syringe which contained a muscle blocker that Andre used to numb his back and legs, thus fooling everyone into believing he was paralyzed. Bo adds that Stefano is missing as well.
