Caroline approaches Trent and takes his coffee cup, asking if hes finished. Well I am now. Why dont you just say what you came over to say, he implores. Caroline reminds him that she asked him not to come there. Trent says hell try to keep his visits to a minimum and wishes her a good day, then leaves.
Nicole signs her final divorce papers and jokes how her fairy tale marriage has come to an end. A grim fairy tale at best, adds Victor. E.J. notes that she doesnt seem very happy for a girl who just got everything she wanted. He invites her to go out to lunch and celebrate. Nicole says she cant. E.J. asks about dinner, but she claims dinner is bad too. E.J. doesnt understand why she insists on trying to completely cut him out of her life.
Meanwhile, Steph doesnt understand why Max cant cut ties with Trent and meet his sister. She assures him that she supports him. Max proceeds to get back to work.
E.J. follows Nicole outside the pub and asks her why they cant be friends. She asserts that hes in love with Sami, and until that changes they have nothing more to say to each other.
Back inside, Steph gives Max a brief kiss goodbye before heading to the hospital to see her baby brother. She tells him that if he changes his mind about finding his sister, shell help. Max flashes back to Steve warning him to keep Steph out of it. Sorry Steph, but Ive gotta do this on my own, he says as he looks at the photo.
Caroline approaches Victor at the bar and asks if things went alright with Nicole. Victor chuckles how hell be free of that greedy, conniving, murdering witch forever. He asks if theyre still celebrating with a movie, which she confirms. They agree to go out Tuesday night. Victor suddenly feels dizzy and collapses.
At the police station, Bo and Hope try to get answers out of Lucas, but he doesnt want to talk about it. Lucas states that this is his third offense, and they cant keep him from being thrown back in jail. Hope suggests that if she and Bo can prove that he had a good reason for being at the Salem Inn, they might be able to sway the judge. Lucas believes it wont make any difference and rehashes how he had a good reason for trying to kill E.J., but the judge still gave him ten years in prison. Bo chastises him for not following the law, reminding him that he two little babies who are counting on him.
Just outside Romans office, Chloe has just told Philip that she slept with Lucas. Philip asks why. I dont owe you any explanations, states Chloe. Morgan suggests having this conversation elsewhere. Sami then arrives and demands to know what Chloe is doing there. She implores Chloe to leave, but Chloe refuses and walks away. Sami approaches Bo and desperately needs to talk to Lucas, but Bo cant allow it. She professes to love Lucas and expresses how worried she is about him. Bo relents and tells her to grab a seat and try to stay out of trouble. He agrees to allow Philip a couple of minutes to talk to Lucas as well. Philip tells Bo that Morgan left upset and is wondering if its because of a new development in Pauls case. Bo reminds his brother that he cant discuss an ongoing investigation. Philip clarifies that hes asking because hes worried about Morgan, but Bo doesnt care what Phils motivation is. Bo hopes that Philip didnt have anything to do with Pauls disappearance.
Back in Romans office, Hope apologizes to Lucas for what Bo said to him earlier. Lucas says Bo was right, admitting that he wasnt thinking about his kids when he broke house arrest. Hope questions what was so important that he had to go to the Salem Inn. Lucas flashes back to calling Chloe before he went to the Salem Inn, then getting down and dirty in the elevator with her. Hope surmises that Lucas is protecting someone and asks who he went to see.
Philip sarcastically thanks Bo for the vote of confidence. Bo notes how Pauls disappearance is pretty convenient for Philip, since Bo believes that Paul knew something about the drugs on Johns ship and the warehouse fire. Philip states that he had nothing to do with Pauls disappearance. Bo threatens to arrest him if hes lying. Philip asks if Hopes about done with Lucas, insisting that he really needs to speak to him. Sami tells him to get in line, asserting that shes first. Hope and Lucas come out of the office, where Sami hugs him and cries how sorry she is. Lucas requests a moment alone to talk to Sami. He tells her not to cry, admitting how he hates to see her cry. Sami asks what made him leave the mansion to break house arrest. Philip asks the same question. Lucas calmly asks for some time alone with Sami and has no comment.
Bo asks Hope if Lucas told her why he was at the Salem Inn. Hope says no, but suspects that he went there to meet someone and hes probably protecting someone now. Bo shares how Philip was trying to get information on the Paul Hollingsworth case. Hope wonders if Bo believes that Philips involved. The more I talk to him, the more I get the feeling my little brothers lying to me, suspects Bo.
Meanwhile, Philip wont give up until he gets a confession out of Lucas. Lucas tells him to drop it. Sami tells both of them to stop it. Bo breaks it up and takes Lucas away for processing, which upsets Sami.
Morgan follows Chloe back to the Salem Inn and warns her that she wont get away with her lies. Chloe sticks to her story about seeing Paul on the pier and warns Morgan that hes going to burn. I do not believe you, sneers Morgan. Chloe doesnt care what she believes. Morgan implores her to admit that shes only saying these things because shes jealous of Morgans relationship with Philip. Chloe tells her to get over herself and claims that shes trying to protect Philip by telling the police exactly what she saw that night on the pier. Morgan suspects that Chloe is hooking up with Lucas to get back at Philip and warns her that she wont get away with it.
