Nicole comes back outside and informs Trent that Max is gone. Trent orders her to get back inside and find out where he went, but Nicole tells him to do it himself. Trent grabs her arm and warns her not to ever speak to him like that. Nicole warns him not to ever lay another finger on her again. “Or what? You’ll stick your British boy toy on me?” he derides. Nicole claims that E.J. is her lawyer. Trent realizes that Nicole is falling for him and orders her to stay away from him. “No. You stay away from me,” refuses Nicole as she walks off. Trent calls Max and quips how he’s offended that Max forgot to tell him he was going on a trip. Max hangs up on him.

Victor lies in his hospital bed urging Bo to hand over the tape recording of Philip and walk away. A conflicted Bo hands it over when Victor’s monitors start beeping faster. Bo comes out of Victor’s room when Kate asks what happened. He glares at Philip and implores Kate to talk to her son alone. Kate demands to know what the hell’s going on. Bo insists that he needs to talk to his brother and tells Kate to call him if anything changes. Daniel steps in front of Kate and refuses to allow Victor visitors, insisting that the man needs his rest and doesn’t want him getting all worked up. “Daniel, am I making you uncomfortable?” she asks. He says it’s in the past and things are fine. Kate suggests not talking about it anymore and remarks how Chelsea’s a lucky girl and how bright, beautiful, and special she is. Daniel agrees with this and allows her to go in and quietly sit with Victor. They exchange a look before he walks off, and it appears that things aren’t quite over between these two.

Kate is later by Victor’s bedside, where he mutters Philip’s name. She quickly realizes that he knows something regarding Philip and Bo. He hands her the recorder, which she plays to hear Philip’s threat. “Philip. Oh my God!” she gasps. Kate hides the recorder as Daniel enters. He goes over to Victor and complains how his heart rate has accelerated again. Caroline then arrives to see Victor and Kate leaves. Caroline asks Daniel if Victor’s alright. Daniel fills her in on how Victor’s speech is a little slow and the best thing for Victor is some rest. Victor weakly tells Daniel that it’s alright. Caroline sits by Victor and smiles how everyone’s concerned about him. They briefly discuss Bo before Caroline asks if there’s anything she can get him before she leaves. “Release papers,” replies Victor. Caroline chuckles how he hasn’t lost his sense of humor. She assures him she’ll be back tomorrow. After Caroline leaves, Kate re-enters and sits down, removing the tape from the recorder and offering to burn it.

Bo brings Philip back to the Brady house, where Philip needs him to make it quick since he has a lot to do at work. An agitated Bo confronts him about the recording. Philip states that a threat isn’t a confession or proof of anything. He asks where the tape is. Bo reveals that Victor has it. He demands to know if Philip killed a man. Philip affirms that he didn’t kill Paul Hollingsworth and can’t believe Bo is asking that. Bo questions if he has any idea where Paul is. Philip says he doesn’t have a clue. Bo assures him that their conversation is off the record, revealing how Victor asked him to protect Phil. Philip thanks him. Bo fumes how this goes against everything he’s lived for and everything he believes in. “I did it for our father,” he admits. Bo berates himself for not approaching the situation like a cop instead of a son. He rants how he let his emotions get in the way of his judgement. “I’m withholding evidence. I’ve lied to Abe and my brother, all to protect your sorry butt!” sneers Bo. Philip insists that he’s not a killer, then walks out.

Bo later phones Abe and says there’s something he needs to tell him. He flashes back to sitting by Victor’s bedside feeling conflicted over what Victor was asking him to do. Bo comes back to reality and stammers to Abe that he won’t be able to make it into work today. Abe assures him that it’s not a problem.

Back at the pub, a smiling Steph has a group hug with her friends and bids them goodbye. Morgan proceeds to take off just as Daniel walks in. Chelsea smiles and asks about her grandpa. Daniel fills her in on Victor and questions if something’s going on between Bo and Victor, wondering if Bo said something to upset him. Chelsea offers to talk to Bo for him, but Daniel says no talking and kisses her.

Ava and John are at the DiMera mansion, where she raves how they have a lot to celebrate, since they are rid of the disk and he’s finally free. She makes a toast to the future and starting over. “And to the beautiful woman that made it all happen,” he adds. They drink together as E.J. returns home and complains how he’s not in the mood to watch them frolicking around on the sofa. John remarks how he finds women fascinating and asks E.J. if he finds them troublesome, which E.J. confirms. Ava suggests to E.J. that he stop dressing like an attorney all the time and try jeans, a T-shirt, and even boots. She encourages him to loosen up a little, then fondles John and proceeds to get them some yummy treats.

John agrees that E.J. needs to change his attire up. E.J. shares how he’s planning on making a few changes in his life, but the wardrobe stays. He reflects how he’s been Mr. Nice Guy, but it landed him as a single parent, divorced, and living with his uncle. He admits that he admires John for holding firm against the Bradys’ attempts to revert him back to his old ways. He states how he and John have always wanted the same things, such as power, control, and a little bit of respect, expressing how he’d like to be involved in John’s business ventures. “I’d prefer to work alone,” says John. E.J. asks him to give it some consideration. John questions what he could bring to the table. E.J. brings up his legal expertise and states that he has an extremely detailed understanding of all his father’s business dealings. John reluctantly agrees to give it a shot. E.J. extends his hand to John, who implores E.J. to prove that he can trust him.
