Victor lies in his hospital bed urging Bo to hand over the tape recording of Philip and walk away. A conflicted Bo hands it over when Victors monitors start beeping faster. Bo comes out of Victors room when Kate asks what happened. He glares at Philip and implores Kate to talk to her son alone. Kate demands to know what the hells going on. Bo insists that he needs to talk to his brother and tells Kate to call him if anything changes. Daniel steps in front of Kate and refuses to allow Victor visitors, insisting that the man needs his rest and doesnt want him getting all worked up. Daniel, am I making you uncomfortable? she asks. He says its in the past and things are fine. Kate suggests not talking about it anymore and remarks how Chelseas a lucky girl and how bright, beautiful, and special she is. Daniel agrees with this and allows her to go in and quietly sit with Victor. They exchange a look before he walks off, and it appears that things arent quite over between these two.
Kate is later by Victors bedside, where he mutters Philips name. She quickly realizes that he knows something regarding Philip and Bo. He hands her the recorder, which she plays to hear Philips threat. Philip. Oh my God! she gasps. Kate hides the recorder as Daniel enters. He goes over to Victor and complains how his heart rate has accelerated again. Caroline then arrives to see Victor and Kate leaves. Caroline asks Daniel if Victors alright. Daniel fills her in on how Victors speech is a little slow and the best thing for Victor is some rest. Victor weakly tells Daniel that its alright. Caroline sits by Victor and smiles how everyones concerned about him. They briefly discuss Bo before Caroline asks if theres anything she can get him before she leaves. Release papers, replies Victor. Caroline chuckles how he hasnt lost his sense of humor. She assures him shell be back tomorrow. After Caroline leaves, Kate re-enters and sits down, removing the tape from the recorder and offering to burn it.
Bo brings Philip back to the Brady house, where Philip needs him to make it quick since he has a lot to do at work. An agitated Bo confronts him about the recording. Philip states that a threat isnt a confession or proof of anything. He asks where the tape is. Bo reveals that Victor has it. He demands to know if Philip killed a man. Philip affirms that he didnt kill Paul Hollingsworth and cant believe Bo is asking that. Bo questions if he has any idea where Paul is. Philip says he doesnt have a clue. Bo assures him that their conversation is off the record, revealing how Victor asked him to protect Phil. Philip thanks him. Bo fumes how this goes against everything hes lived for and everything he believes in. I did it for our father, he admits. Bo berates himself for not approaching the situation like a cop instead of a son. He rants how he let his emotions get in the way of his judgement. Im withholding evidence. Ive lied to Abe and my brother, all to protect your sorry butt! sneers Bo. Philip insists that hes not a killer, then walks out.
Bo later phones Abe and says theres something he needs to tell him. He flashes back to sitting by Victors bedside feeling conflicted over what Victor was asking him to do. Bo comes back to reality and stammers to Abe that he wont be able to make it into work today. Abe assures him that its not a problem.
Back at the pub, a smiling Steph has a group hug with her friends and bids them goodbye. Morgan proceeds to take off just as Daniel walks in. Chelsea smiles and asks about her grandpa. Daniel fills her in on Victor and questions if somethings going on between Bo and Victor, wondering if Bo said something to upset him. Chelsea offers to talk to Bo for him, but Daniel says no talking and kisses her.
Ava and John are at the DiMera mansion, where she raves how they have a lot to celebrate, since they are rid of the disk and hes finally free. She makes a toast to the future and starting over. And to the beautiful woman that made it all happen, he adds. They drink together as E.J. returns home and complains how hes not in the mood to watch them frolicking around on the sofa. John remarks how he finds women fascinating and asks E.J. if he finds them troublesome, which E.J. confirms. Ava suggests to E.J. that he stop dressing like an attorney all the time and try jeans, a T-shirt, and even boots. She encourages him to loosen up a little, then fondles John and proceeds to get them some yummy treats.
John agrees that E.J. needs to change his attire up. E.J. shares how hes planning on making a few changes in his life, but the wardrobe stays. He reflects how hes been Mr. Nice Guy, but it landed him as a single parent, divorced, and living with his uncle. He admits that he admires John for holding firm against the Bradys attempts to revert him back to his old ways. He states how he and John have always wanted the same things, such as power, control, and a little bit of respect, expressing how hed like to be involved in Johns business ventures. Id prefer to work alone, says John. E.J. asks him to give it some consideration. John questions what he could bring to the table. E.J. brings up his legal expertise and states that he has an extremely detailed understanding of all his fathers business dealings. John reluctantly agrees to give it a shot. E.J. extends his hand to John, who implores E.J. to prove that he can trust him.
