Max is on the train and gets up to ask the conductor when it's leaving again. In French, the conductor tells him they will depart again soon, but they had to pick up another passenger. Stephanie surprises him when she arrives and plops down into his lap, kissing him. He asks what she’s doing there. She reveals that she called and got updates to make sure she knew where to go. Max reminds her that he specifically told her not to come. “Your dad’s gonna kill me!” he exclaims. Steph assures Max that she talked to Steve, and he’s okay with everything. She insists that she can help him, since she’s been to France and knows the language. Max proceeds to find out where the next stop is, stating that’s where Steph is getting off and going home. Steph insists that she has just as much right to be angry with him as he is with her, since he lied to her and left without saying goodbye. Max apologizes, stating that he did what he thought was best. Steph reminds him that she’s been right by his side through everything, and that’s where she intends to stay.

Steph later suggests that she just go back to Salem, since she could keep tabs on Trent. Max stops her and says he wants her to stay, asking her to help him find his sister. “You mean it?” she asks. He answers her with a kiss.

At the pub, Nicole is eager to know from Ava how it went with John. Ava shares how she and John fooled around a little bit, but he kept it strictly PG-13. Nicole refers to her friend as attractive, hot, sexy, and intelligent, and John knows that she’s not after his money. Nicole points out that Ava’s already earned John’s trust. Ava says she just accepts him for who he is and doesn’t try and change him like everyone else. She doesn’t think he’s over Marlena, but she has no intentions of giving up.

Meanwhile, Rolf meets Marlena and looks like “an extra from the sopranos,” as she puts it. Rolf predicts that if John finds out he’s meeting her there, he’ll be sleeping with the fishes. Marlena encourages him to relax. “I need your cooperation, and I’m not taking no for an answer,” declares Marlena. A nervous Rolf doesn’t see how he can possibly help her and tries to leave. He then receives a phone call from John, who wants him to pick up a bottle of port after “ceramics class". John warns Rolf that they’re going to have a little talk later.

Ava complains how Marlena rubs her the wrong way. She refers to Marlena as pretentious, smug, judgemental, and self-righteous. Nicole tries to assure her that John will come around. Ava hopes that Nicole is having better luck with E.J. Ava soon realizes that Nicole and E.J. had sex. Nicole reveals that it happened in an elevator during 4th of July. Ava wonders if she and E.J. are exclusive now. Nicole thinks they would be if she hadn’t pushed him away. She laments that she screwed up and she doesn’t think she can fix it.

Nearby, Marlena displays the pieces of the broken disk and needs him to put it back together. Rolf predicts that if the disk does contain all of John’s memories and if the old John were to somehow resurface, he would be facing life without parole. “No. Not if I get you immunity,” suggests Marlena.

Nicole moans to Ava how it would be so much easier if she wasn’t so damn attracted to E.J. Ava urges her to do something about it and take her own advice. Nicole insists that the situation with E.J. is more complicated, since she’s not really sure E.J. likes her after the way she treated him. Ava implores her to call him up and apologize, but Nicole insists that it can’t happen with E.J. Ava reveals that E.J. was so down in the dumps when she saw him earlier, since he was upset about a woman. She encourages Nicole to call him and take it slow. Nicole expresses how she wishes he could. Ava asks what has her so upset. "Trent Robbins,” replies Nicole, who asks Ava to promise not to tell a soul if she reveals something.

Nicole tells Ava her secret off camera. Ava remarks how huge it is and promises not to say a word. Nicole realizes that they haven’t been friends for very long, but assures Ava that she trusts her.

Meanwhile, Marlena asks Rolf if he’s really happy with his life, knowing that John could fire him at any moment and send him back to prison just like that. She assures him that he can have his old life back if he puts the disk back together for her. Rolf shakes his head and believes she can’t guarantee that. Marlena tries to assure him that she won’t say a word and can be very discreet. “I’m sorry Marlena. I just can’t trust you,” he says. Marlena is still determined to find a way to get John’s memory back and warns him that when it happens, he better hopes that he has immunity. Otherwise, he’s going to spend a very long time behind bars.

A handcuffed Lucas enters Roman’s office and wonders why he hasn’t been back to Statesville yet. Roman informs him that he’s going someplace much more worse. Lucas later tells Roman that he’s in. Roman warns him how dangerous it will be. Lucas says he’ll be fine, but tells Roman to keep it between them, as he doesn’t want Sami to find out where he’s going to a maximum security facility. Sami has arrived and overhears. She rants how Lucas doesn’t belong in maximum security. Roman promises that Lucas will be well taken care of. “By serial killers and mass murderers?” questions a horrified Sami. She insists that there has to be something which her dad can do. Roman apologizes and claims that it’s out of his hands. Sami suggests calling Mickey Horton. Roman reminds Sami that Lucas violated his house arrest on three separate occasions. Sami argues that Lucas has learned his lesson. Lucas tries to assure her that it’s not forever. An incredulous Sami wonders how Lucas can be so calm about the whole ordeal. Lucas states that he doesn’t have a choice, so he may as well go in with a positive attitude. Sami begins to cry and chastises him.

Roman steps outside his office before Sami asks how Lucas could do this to his children. Lucas tries to apologize. Sami yells that that it’s Will and Allie who need to hear his apology. Lucas reveals that he spoke to Will this morning and told him ‘almost’ everything. He states that he now has to pay the price.
