A distressed Morgan worries over her father being dead. Philip tries to assure her that nothing’s for sure yet. Morgan whines how not knowing whether her father is alive or dead is driving her absolutely crazy. Philip surmises that Paul loved her very much. Morgan confides how it’s always been Paul and her, and he’s always been her best friend. A tearful Morgan reminisces over how she was failing physics in school, and her father talked the teacher into letting her do a project for extra credit, so they worked on a model volcano project together. Philip is moved and admits that Paul sounds like a terrific father. Morgan is convinced that he wouldn’t just leave unless he was scared of someone. Philip embraces her and encourages her not to give up. She prays that it’s all a big misunderstanding.

Kate later phones Philip and fills him in on the latest news by Roman. Philip is already aware of this and reveals that he’s down at the station and he’ll talk to her later. “Better sooner than later,” she warns. Tony sneaks up on Kate and asks how Philip is. An annoyed Kate claims that Philip’s fine and it’s Morgan she’s worried about. Tony insists that he needs to cut their celebration short and head to another meeting. Kate assures him that she knows he’s responsible for a lot of her success. After Kate walks off, Tony leaves Anna a voice mail stating that he needs to rush over to John's.

Anna arrives at the pub and asks Kate where Tony is. Kate says she just missed him, which surprises Anna. Anna returns to Kate’s table after listening to her message from Tony. Kate gives her the third degree, which Anna calls her on. She finally invites Anna to have a seat and a drink, then asks her how the business is. Anna informs her that it folded and she’s working with Tony now. She then notes that the bartender is taking a while getting over to their table. Kate jokes how bartenders usually fall all over themselves trying to wait on her. Anna brings up how she spoke to Carrie earlier, and she and Austin are going to try and start a family. She chuckles at the thought of being a grandmother. Kate assures her that after the first one, it gets easier. Anna would think Carrie would run screaming after the hills at the idea motherhood after what Anna put her through. Kate admits that she wasn’t the best role model for her kids. Anna refers to it as nonsense.

The ladies make a toast to Carrie. Anna doesn’t know what she did, but figures she must’ve done something right. “Oh, lot of things right, I’m sure,” surmises Kate. Anna is surprised to hear Kate sticking up for her. Kate jokes how she’s probably had too much to drink. Anna bets that Kate was a tough, smart, no-nonsense women who would do anything for her kids. Kate laments being too strong with them, always telling them to go after what they want and damn the consequences. Anna refers to Kate’s kids as a handful, but believes they still turned out fine. She then suggests that Kate could’ve given Lucas better problem-solving skills, since he shot E.J., but says he still has time to learn. Kate reveals that he has ten years, unless he gets off for good behavior. “Well look on the bright side. Only one of your kids is in prison,” shrugs Anna.

Anna and Kate later walk out of the pub, where Kate thanks her for listening. They hear sirens and Anna reveals that the police are dragging the river for a body.

Back at the police station, Morgan is appalled to hear that Roman and Abe are dragging the river for her father and demands to know why. Abe explains that it’s just logical to search the river, since they found Paul’s jacket there. Roman apologizes, but insists that it’s best to know the truth. Bo arrives to get an update. Morgan asks if she can use a phone to call her mother, since her phone battery is dead. Roman quietly informs Bo that they’re dragging the river for Paul’s body. Abe and Roman leave the office to check in with the dive teams.

Bo grabs Philip and leads him into Roman’s office accusing him of killing Paul and lying about it. Philip insists that he didn’t kill Paul. He admits that he’s guilty of threatening a man, but he’s no killer. Bo isn’t convinced and seethes how Philip sounded like a Kiriakis on the recording. He surmises that Victor destroyed the tape recorder after he gave it to him. Philip tries to assure Bo that he knows how much it cost him to do what he did, and he knows Bo did it for their father. Philip declares that he’ll never forget what Bo did for him, and there’s no way he’ll be able to repay him. “You’re damn right there isn’t! Especially if what I did let you get away with murder,” Bo interjects. Bo rants how Victor always has acted as if the laws don’t apply to him and as someone who will do anything to get what he wants. “Like father, like son,” implies Bo. Philip refuses to argue about Victor’s past sins, but attests that their father will do anything to protect his family, reminding Bo what he did for Brady. Bo snickers how Victor kidnapped his own grandson and locked him up in rehab. Philip reminds Bo that Victor also brought in Daniel Jonas to save his life. Bo rants how Victor plays the family card. Philip insists once again that he had nothing to do with killing Paul, and believes that Bo wouldn’t handed the evidence over to Victor otherwise. Bo fumes how he’s committing obstruction of justice and vows to turn Philip in as well as himself if it turns out Phil is a liar and a killer. He opens the door and orders Philip out and sees Morgan standing there.

Back at the Brady house, Hope tries to phone Bo and is frustrated when she gets his voice mail again. She nervously paces the floor wondering what Bo is hiding.

Tony arrives at the DiMera mansion to see John, who asks his “nephew” what he wants. Tony brings up one of his clients: Paul Hollingsworth. He’s curious as to why John was so eager to help him. John claims he felt sorry for the guy back then. Tony wonders if that’s changed. “If that devil-crossing scum ever darkens my door again, I will rip his heart out and feed it to my dogs,” he threatens. Tony warns John that the man is probably already dead.
