Premiere Party Girl

By Gwen Morett, About.com

In Marseille, France, a young man approaches Max outside the Bistro Raoul and confronts him about looking for Melanie. The man asks why he’s been looking for “Mel” and what he wants with her. Max tells him it’s none of his business. Steph stands nearby as the man implores Max to tell him where Melanie is. “Why would I be asking for Melanie if I already knew where she was?” retorts Max. The man reveals that Melanie owes him some money.

Trent phones Melanie from the Java Café wondering where she is, stating how he’s called her three times in the last two days. Meanwhile, Nick looks at a picture of Melanie on his computer and wonders where he’s seen her before. He closes his laptop when Trent asks to join him. Trent remarks how excellent the coffee is there and questions where “that bartender friend of yours” is. Nick simply says he’s out of town and didn’t even know he was gone until Caroline told him. Trent fishes for information trying to find out where Max is. He admits he’s surprised that Max didn’t tell Nick where he was going. “Well, I’m not his mother,” says Nick. Trent asks if Stephanie went with him. Nick assumes so and wonders why Trent’s so curious about where Max went. “Max is my son,” reveals Trent. Nick acts stunned and wonders why Trent’s telling him. Trent implores Nick to keep the secret to himself, stating that he and Max still have some issues to resolve

After Trent leaves, Nick checks out Melanie’s video blog, entitled “Premiere Party Girl.” Melanie raves about the party scene and thanks everyone who wished her a happy birthday last week. “Who are you?” wonders an intrigued Nick. He flashes back to an earlier conversation with Max and realizes that the girl is Max’s sister.

Back in Marseille, the man offers to leave Melanie alone if Max pays her debt to him. “Or else?” questions Max. “Or else, you may never see your girlfriend again,” warns the man. Max states that he doesn’t have a whole lot of money and Melanie isn’t his girlfriend. The man doesn’t believe him. Steph goes inside the bistro and takes a call from Nick, who informs her that Trent has been asking about Max today and even volunteered the fact that he’s Max’s dad. Nick explains that he acted like he didn’t know. Steph predicts that Max will flip when he hears this. Nick reveals that Melanie’s a blogger known as “Premiere Party Girl” and is pretty popular among the party crowd. Steph is stunned, as she’s starting to realize how much trouble Max’s sister is. She then loses connection with Nick.

Outside the bistro, the young man finally reveals his name to be Les. Max affirms that he doesn’t owe Les any explanations and isn’t giving him any money. Les remarks what a shame it is, since Melanie could use his help and money. “You’d better pray that you find Mel before I do,” warns Les.

At the hospital, Nicole tries to assure Chloe that Lucas is going to be fine. “Nicole, he looked horrible. How could something like this happen?” worries Chloe, who rants how they never should’ve sent Lucas to a maximum security prison. She’s thankful that he’s still alive, but worries about him going back there. Nicole speculates that Roman is telling Lucas that he doesn’t go back.

Meanwhile, Roman is inside Lucas’s room and asks him what the hell happened. “I did what you asked, and they almost killed me for it,” mutters a badly beaten Lucas. Roman tells Lucas to take it easy and proceeds to get a nurse so Lucas can get something for his pain. Lucas says a nurse gave him something already, but it hasn’t kicked in yet. Roman asks if he feels up to telling what happened. Lucas explains that he got close to Manny Ortega, who was still trafficking drugs out of prison and was going to be moved to general population tomorrow. Roman deduces that Manny’s people somehow found out. Lucas recounts how one minute they were talking about moving 50 Gs through LA Harbor, and the next minute a couple of guys jumped him and started kicking him in the head. “I don’t have to go back to prison, right? You told me I’m a free man,” Lucas reminds him. “You are?” asks Chloe as she and Nicole enter. Nicole remarks how Lucas looks like hell, but it’s nothing that a little TLC can’t take care of. Chloe asks Lucas if he’s getting out of prison. Roman agrees to give them some privacy.

Lucas reveals that he’s being released from prison, since he made a deal with the feds. In exchange, the governor commuted his sentence. The ladies sit down as Nicole expresses what a great guy he is. “Thanks Nicole, I think,” responds Lucas. Nicole leaves to give Chloe and Lucas some privacy. Lucas wonders if Nicole suddenly grew a heart. “Ah, the jury’s still out on that,” replies Chloe, who proceeds to get a nurse since Lucas is obviously in pain. Lucas admits he’s ten times better now that she’s there and admits he’s been thinking about her since he left.

E.J. is playing with Johnny and Allie at the DiMera mansion with blocks all over the floor. Sami walks in and smiles at seeing E.J. holding Allie. She asks if he’s seen her cell phone, but no luck. E.J. acts like a big kid as he plays with the twins and invites Sami to join them. Allie smiles as E.J. lifts her up. Sami holds Johnny as they work on building a tower. E.J. playfully lifts Johnny in the air, takes Allie and lifts her a turn, which makes the tot smile. Sami then admits she hasn’t been the easiest person to deal with lately with all that’s going on, and it’s made her a little bit crazy. She apologizes for being hard to deal with. E.J. carries both twins as he admits that he hasn’t been the easiest person to live with either. “That’s just about the understatement of the year,” agrees Sami, who takes Allie from him. She expresses how threatening to take her son away from her really sent her over the edge. E.J. apologizes as Johnny babbles. He expresses how Sami and the twins mean more than anything else to him in the world. Sami professes that she’d never take Johnny away from him. She hopes they can find a way to get along and be friends. E.J. insists that Lucas is the problem.
