Time to Start Blending

By Gwen Morett, About.com

E.J. and Nicole are going for another round and getting hot and heavy in the elevator. During their love session, she fantasizes about E.J. carrying her around after marrying him. Sami demands for him to put Nicole down. “Go away Sami! E.J. is my husband now!” asserts Nicole, who affirms that the ring is on her finger. E.J. thanks Sami for turning him down and carries Nicole away, leaving Sami screaming his name.

E.J. and Nicole cuddle in the elevator after another round of lovemaking. He notices that they are out of champagne and jokes what a disaster it is. Nicole says she didn’t want anymore anyway. He asks if she’s okay, noting how quiet she is. Nicole is on the verge of tears as she mentions how perfect things are right now. E.J. tells her how special she is. She begins getting dressed again as E.J. asks her why she acts so surprised when a man shows her the slightest bit of tenderness. “Because I’m not exactly used to it,” she replies. “You certainly deserve to be,” he says as he nuzzles close to her. She tells him that he’s reminded her how special making love is and thanks him. He believes he’s the one who should be thanking her.

Sami phones Roman from the Salem Inn and wonders how much longer he believes the power will be out. He doesn’t know, but assures her that the city engineers are working on it and doing the best they can. She hopes they fix it soon, because the twins get so cranky when it’s hot out. “Just the twins?” he jokes. She admits that she was also looking forward to having a nice air conditioned room and informs him that there are people stuck in elevators there. He invites her to come to the pub, reminding her that it’s gone green and running on batteries. She agrees to come down later if the blackout goes on too much longer. After she hangs up, Sami asks the cop how much longer she thinks the people will be stuck in elevators. He believes they’ll be out soon. Sami then phones Lucas and gets his voice mail.

Lucas and Chloe are making out in the elevator when he stops to catch his breath, admitting that he never thought being trapped in an elevator could ever feel so good. “I don’t ever wanna get out of here,” he admits. She knows he’s there because he’s mad at Sami. “I’m not mad at Sami. I’m through with Sami,” he clarifies. She wonders how many times he’s said it before. He affirms that he’s never been so sure of anything in his life, in that it’s over between him and Sami. He rehashes seeing Sami and E.J. in bed together and states that he still needs to be there for Will, Allie, and Johnny regardless. She kisses him in an effort to get his mind off the drama.

Sami waits in the hotel lobby with the twins and continues to phone Lucas, wondering what he’s up to. She flashes back to finding the paper bag with his ankle monitor, then trying to get him to fess up about it.

E.J. and Nicole are holding each other close when the elevator drops a bit. The firefighters pry open the door. Sami is shocked and disgusted to see a half-dressed E.J. with Nicole. “Oh my God. In an elevator?” she questions. E.J. asks Sami what she and the twins are doing there. She calls him a hypocrite for declaring to have feelings for her, then turning around and doing the deed with Nicole in an elevator. E.J. claims none of it wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t forced his hand. He reminds her that she told him to move on. A peeved Sami quips how happy she is for the both of them and how happy she is to have a real love with Lucas. “Cause I can tell you one thing for sure. He would never be caught dead doing some tramp in an elevator,” she sneers. E.J. refuses to apologize and implores her not to blame this on Nicole. Sami insists that Nicole is only chasing after him to get back at her and make her suffer. Nicole steps in and admits she had great sex with E.J. and tells her rival that she blew it with E.J. “Good! I don’t want him. I want Lucas,” declares Sami.

Meanwhile, Lucas and Chloe finish another round of making love in the elevator. She gasps how amazing it was. She admits she feels guilty, even though she wanted to make love to him. She asks if he feels as though he betrayed Sami somehow. He counters that Sami betrayed him when she slept with E.J. He assures her that he’s there because he wanted to see her, which is why he got rid of his ankle monitor. She warns him that the cop who arrested him is just downstairs. Lucas isn’t worried, as he intends to sneak right past him as soon as the elevator doors open. They get dressed as Chloe panics over the possibility of Lucas getting caught. Lucas tries to assure her that he knows what he’s doing, as he learned to blend in when he was in prison. They hear a voice on the intercom which announces that they will have to manually lower the elevator to get them out of there, and that camera surveillance is down. “Oh God. Time to start blending,” states Chloe. She puts on a panic act on the intercom. Lucas is determined not to give up.

After Lucas unsuccessfully tries to sneak out a different way, Chloe suggests an idea, in that she will pretend to panic like crazy when the doors open, which will cause a huge commotion and distraction so Lucas can sneak way. Lucas thanks her for the good idea. Chloe blames herself for getting him into this mess and wants to try and make it up to him. “I think you already did that Chloe,” he implies as he kisses her. They feel the elevator jolt as Chloe begins to freak out.
