John returns from his arraignment after pleading not guilty and states that he needs to pay his “ridiculously high bail.” Roman reveals that Marlena saved him the trouble and paid his bail. John asks where she is, but Roman doesn’t know. John heads out.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Chloe notes to Philip how cozy Nicole and E.J. looked at the pub earlier. She wonders if something’s going on between them after the way Nicole hauled E.J.’s butt out of there. Philip doesn’t know or doesn’t care. Chloe shares her suspicion that Nicole’s after Philip, noting the way she flipped out after seeing them in bed together. Philip flashes back to playing darts with Morgan before Chloe asks him what he’s thinking about. Philip tells her that she doesn’t want to know. He has his shirt off as Chloe proceeds to head to her room and let him get some sleep. “Who said anything about sleep?” he smiles. He reminds her that she said she wanted to have fun with no strings attached. They start smooching and quickly fall onto the bed for another sexcapade.

After they make love, Chloe reminds him that Victor’s not going to stand for any of it, rehashing what he did to break up her and Brady. Philip assures her that he can handle his father. She puts her robe on and proceeds to head back to her room when she comes across John’s stolen disk. She asks what it is. Philip orders her to leave it. He then claims it’s business which he’s doing overseas, and all the information on the disc is encrypted. He suggests they forget about it and kisses her before proceeding to get something to eat.

Back at Chez Rouge, Hope challenges Bo to try dancing to the salsa music in the background. The chemistry is still intact as they engage in a seductive salsa together. Bo takes her breath away and she refers to him as amazing. Hope proposes they get out of there. The Bradys then notice Paul Hollingsworth from afar. Bo suggests having a little chat with him. They approach Paul and Morgan, who compliments them on how wonderful they looked on the dance floor. Bo asks Paul if he knows anything about what happened on the docks today. Paul is interrupted by a call from Philip and tries to blow him off. After he hangs up, he claims it was an old friend of his who wanted the scoop on the drug bust. Paul declares how confident he is that the grand jury will drop all charges against him. Bo and Hope say good night and believe that Paul knows more than he’s letting on.

Chloe later asks Philip is he was talking to someone, but Philip lies and says no. Chloe notes that he has a lot of secrets, which is kind of concerning. Philip gives her a brief smooch and tells her not to worry about him.

Nicole cozies up to E.J. and coos how all of his secrets are safe with him. E.J. claims he doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Nicole tries to assure him that if things don’t work out between him and Sami, there are other women out there. E.J. believes that he and Sami are meant to be together. He marvels about his beautiful boy and explains how he now has a family, rehashing how Stefano never had a son, but a soldier. He takes another shot and states how he and Sami are very much alike. “Don’t you think Lucas feels likewise?” she suggests. E.J. laughs before referring to Lucas as a “sniveling boy” who doesn’t know how to look after a woman. Nicole disagrees with the sniveling part and brings up how Lucas put a bullet in him. “Yet in my back, like a coward,” jeers an inebriated E.J., who claims he hasn’t forgotten it. Nicole reminds him that he told Sami he forgave Lucas for that. E.J. admits he only told Sami that in order to woo her. Nicole asks him if he honestly thinks he can plan and plot his way into real love. She rehashes where all that conniving and scheming has gotten her. E.J. reminds her that it will get her a hefty divorce settlement, which is what she wanted. “Right. That’s all,” says a misty-eyed Nicole.

Back at the DiMera mansion, Lucas and Sami come back downstairs after putting Johnny back to sleep. They hear him crying again and Lucas offers to get him. Sami answers the phone to Maggie, who informs her that E.J. is making a scene with Nicole. Sami apologizes, but asserts that E.J. is not her husband or her problem anymore. She hangs and has second thoughts, then heads out.

Sami arrives at Chez Rouge and insists that E.J. needs to go with her. An annoyed Nicole suggests that maybe he doesn’t want to leave. E.J. states that he’s a single man now having a drink and a nice time. Sami says he’s embarrassing himself in public. Nicole implores Sami to admit that she’s jealous. Sami claims she doesn’t care what he does, since they’re not married anymore. Nicole is clearly upset that Sami ruined their evening. Sami leads a jovial E.J. out, to Nicole’s chagrin. Nicole later sits alone and contemplates telling Sami what E.J. is up to.

Back at Steve and Kayla’s place, Max remarks how he’s really good with numbers in a “freaky Rain Man sort of way” and is not this mega-genius whom she thinks he is. “I’m Max Brady. I’m the son of an Irish immigrant fisherman, and I love you more than anything and I wanna make you happy,” he declares. Steph professes to love him for who he is and assures him that she’ll be there to talk to when he’s ready.

“Hey Kids. Daddy’s home,” announces John as he arrives back at the DiMera mansion. Lucas notes that John’s out of jail. John credits his lovely wife and asks if she’s around. Lucas hasn’t seen her and doesn’t even know where Sami went. John runs upstairs. Sami later leads a totally drunk E.J. inside. Lucas emerges and wonders if someone’s a little tipsy. Sami reveals that Maggie called her saying that E.J. was making a scene at Chez Rouge. E.J. claims that Sami came to pick him up because she was jealous of Nicole, which Sami denies. E.J. then falls to the floor laughing hysterically. Lucas notes that it’s the second time Sami has acted like a jealous wife over Nicole since he’s been there. Sami points out that she and E.J. aren’t married anymore and he can do whatever she wants. She then sees John, who reveals that Marlena has left him a note and is gone.
