Daniel remarks what a special lady Chelsea is for making such a huge sacrifice. Bo admits that if he would’ve been conscious, Chelsea wouldn’t have made that sacrifice. “And you’d be dead,” affirms Daniel. Bo admits that the possibility of losing his daughter is unbearable and wishes Hope didn’t make that decision for him. Daniel states that it was the right one to make and recalls how he saw Hope by his side the whole time. “I’m a lucky man,” declares Bo. Daniel agrees, so Bo can’t blame Hope for not wanting him to die. Bo wonders what if something had gone wrong. Daniel states that Chelsea loved him enough to risk her life and tells Bo to stop bitching about what he can’t change and accept the gift which Chelsea has given him. Bo wonders what if his body rejects her pancreas. Daniel predicts that Chelsea’s pancreas is as tough as she is and will put up a good fight. Bo is eager to go see Chelsea and thank her. Daniel suggests giving Bo a sedative so he can rest for the time being, joking how he has the “good stuff.” Bo predicts that Hope won’t be back for a while anyway.
Out in the parking lot of the hospital, Hope makes arrangements with Caroline on the phone to pick up Ciara later. After she hangs up, she is chloroformed from behind by Ava. Ava puts Hope in the car and throws Hope’s sweater and purse in the trash. She flashes back to seeing Hope and Steve embrace outside the pub, then asking Hope if she loves Steve.
Angelo brings Hope into Ava’s room and sets her down on the bed, then questions Ava what she did. “I invited her over for a little slumber party. We’re gonna do each other’s makeup and braid our hair,” quips Ava. “This is kidnapping,” warns Angelo. Hope wakes up. “Hey, I’m so glad that you’re up. We’ve got so much to discuss Kayla,” previews crazy Ava. “Did you just call me Kayla?” questions Hope. Angelo expresses what a bastard “Patch” is and how much he hates him. Hope brings up how she remembers Ava from outside the pub. Ava warns her how Patch will love her again once she deals with a certain situation. She reveals that she knows “Kayla” is pregnant with Steve’s baby. Hope plays along with Ava’s delusion. Ava hints that they need to take her out of the equation. “You’re gonna kill me?” asks Hope. Ava warns her to cooperate, otherwise “Kayla” will make her very upset. “What do you want from me?” asks Hope. Ava states that she wants Patch and is determined to have him, baby or no baby. Hope briefly flashes back to her previous conversation with Steve at the hospital, then agrees to talk to Ava. “After all I am Steve’s wife,” she adds. Angelo then summons Ava out in the hall to speak to her.
Out in the hall, Angelo believes that kidnapping “Kayla,” is a bad idea. He warns Ava that her father is going to be livid over the situation. Ava urges him to let her talk to “Kayla,” crying how sick she is of hurting every single day over Patch. She rants how she’s told him over and over again how she needs closure and would rather die if she can’t get it. Angelo comforts a distraught Ava.
Back inside Ava’s room, Hope searches for a way to escape. Angelo offers to help Ava with “Kayla” and tells her not to do anything to herself again as we see scars on Ava’s wrist. Ava predicts that “Kayla” will be there a while and suggests getting her something to eat since she needs to take care of the baby. Angelo locks up the door. Hope comes across photos of the passengers on the plane, then briefly flashes back to Steve warning her that someone’s got it in for Kayla. “Don’t you worry Brady. I’ll find a way out of here,” she vows.
Steve and Kayla are back home, where Kayla is busy on the computer since there are some hospital committee members slacking off in regards to a children’s charity. “That’s why you’re my sweetness. You always make time for other people, even at your own expense,” praises Steve. Kayla closes her laptop and jokes how he may have to hire her a bodyguard after the last email she received, since she kindly but strongly suggested that the other doctors get off their butts and participate. “I love it when you get tough,” he smiles before he massages her shoulders and coaxes her to relax. “I love you,” she professes before they smooch. “I love you too,” he whispers. Steve then flashes back to urging Steph to keep quiet about the Ava situation.
Kayla then pages Daniel at the hospital to check on Bo. He picks up the phone on the other end and assures her that Bo’s fine and should be off in dreamland by now, since he gave Bo a sedative. Kayla thanks him for the update. Steve brings up baby names and doesn’t want to do nicknames like they did with the Pocket-Man. Kayla expresses how glad she is that Pocket is happy with the Wilkinses. Kayla brings up Josephine for a girl’s name after Steve’s mom. Steve suggests Caroline, then suggests combining the two names into “Jo-Oline.” Steve then asks about boy names, but Kayla says they can’t use Pop’s name since Bo took that one. Steve discourages naming the baby after his jerk of a father, which Kayla agrees with. He suggests Benjamin and mentions how he talked to Sonya (Benji Hawk’s wife) and she and the little one are doing good and feel a lot safer with Stefano in a coma. Kayla remarks how much safer her family feels knowing that there’s not a constant threat over their heads all the time. Steve then flashes back to his encounter with Ava in the alley.
Daniel re-enters Chelsea’s room back at the hospital before Kate tells Chelsea she should go. He is surprised to be receiving no lecture this time from Kate. “I’m very protective of my family, Doctor” affirms Kate. Daniel notes the venom in her veins after she exits the room. He then notes that Chelsea looks flushed and feels her forehead for a fever. A blushing Chelsea doesn’t mind the attention. Daniel touches Chelsea’s face and marvels what an amazing thing she did.
Back at the Salem Inn Suite, Steve phones his guard and informs him that Kayla’s asleep, so the guard can take a break. He then asks if there’s any sign of Ava, but the guard says no.
Back in Bo’s room, he is apparently dreaming about Hope and says her name.
