Morgan rejoins Chelsea, who notes that Philip’s totally looking at her right now. They briefly discuss lava and volcanoes before Morgan questions what’s going on between Chelsea and Daniel. Chelsea begins to share the details, but Philip interrupts wanting to borrow Morgan. Chelsea heads to the bar for another shot of caffeine. Philip offers to talk to the D.A. and convince him to go easy on Morgan’s dad. He implores Morgan to persuade Paul to give him whatever he has on John. Chloe interrupts and quips how cozy they look. She introduces herself as Chloe Lane and sarcastically notes Morgan’s cute accent. Philip asks Chloe what she wants. Chloe sits down and attempts to ridicule Morgan. Philip takes Chloe aside for a private conversation.
Marlena opens the door of the DiMera mansion to Roman, who stopped by to follow up on the stolen disc. She thanks him for doing that and proceeds to leave. He suggests that the fewer people who know about it, the better since he’s doing this as a favor.
Back inside the DiMera mansion, EJ and Sami highly doubt that the judge will allow Lucas to take Allie with him. Lucas insists that he has rights. Sami knows, but asks him not to take her to court. “You’ll just end up frustrated, Lucas,” predicts EJ. “I’m used to being frustrated. I’m in love with Sami,” states Lucas. Sami barks at Rolf when he enters with a package. She is furious to read the note from Nicole, thanking EJ for last night. Lucas is surprised to learn that Nicole is back in town. EJ rehashes how Lucas’s mommy paid Nicole five million dollars to marry him. Sami demands to know what EJ was doing with Nicole last night. EJ claims she’s just a client and they were discussing business. Lucas proceeds to go check on Allie and deduces that Sami is in love with EJ, but she denies this. “You had sex with him, didn’t you?” he rehashes. She yells how she didn’t know he was coming home. He reiterates how he’s getting out of there and taking his daughter with him. Sami asserts that it wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t left her. “You telling me that it’s my fault that you slept with EJ?” he refutes. EJ clarifies that he and Sami made love, and she wanted him as much as he wanted her. Lucas insists that she would freak out and lose her mind if he slept with another woman. Sami attests how EJ has been there for her and helped out with the twins. EJ implores Lucas to show Sami a little bit more gratitude for doing a damn good job of raising his daughter while he was in prison. “Thank you Sami! Thank you for sleeping with a DiMera!” he sarcastically yells before walking out.
Daniel comes to the pub and approaches Chelsea and Morgan’s table, looking over their geology materials. He asks to have a word with Chelsea. Morgan excuses herself. Meanwhile, a jealous Chloe notes that Philip’s “girlfriend” is leaving and wonders if he wants to say goodbye. Philip reminds Chloe that she’s the one who’s married. “I’m single. I can do whatever the hell I want,” he gloats. An annoyed Chloe gets up and runs into EJ, apologizing for running into him. She proceeds to leave, but he invites her to have a coffee. She accepts, hoping to make Philip jealous. Nearby, Philip makes a call asking if “it’s done.”
Daniel refuses to let things get awkward between him and Chelsea, as she means too much to him. He admits he was wrong to kiss her and takes full responsibility. Chelsea insists that she needs someone who respects her and cares about her one hundred percent, and isn’t afraid to admit that he loves her. “That person was Nick. And I gave him up for you,” she laments. Daniel wishes she wouldn’t have done that. She admits she did it because it’s what she needed to do and implores him to be honest with her.
Philip removes John’s disc from his pocket and glances over at Chloe and EJ’s table. EJ chats with Chloe about Vienna before advising her to stop staring at Philip and start giggling at him if she wishes to make Philip jealous. Meanwhile, Chelsea hears sirens outside and wonders what’s going on. Chloe looks outside and notes that the entire Salem P.D. is heading down to the pier.
Roman, Marlena, and John are later in the DiMera mansion living room, where Roman wants to check out all the suspects one by one. “You watch too many crime shows on television,” grumbles John, who doesn’t want Roman there. Marlena asks Roman to give her and John a minute. John reminds Marlena that he told her no police. Marlena affirms that Roman is a friend. “He is your ex-husband,” states John, who has his own private investigator. They head over to the portrait of Marlena, where John assumes that Roman would like one in his living room. Roman compliments Marlena on the portrait and wonders what they decided. “John would be thrilled for your help,” quips Marlena. “She’s paraphrasing,” interjects John.
Rolf knocks on a distraught Sami’s bedroom door and brings her some warm milk to help calm her nerves. She takes a sip and remarks how disgusting it is. He suggests adding a splash of liquor, but she believes it’s a little early in the day. She then apologizes for snapping at him earlier. She then asks him if he’s ever done anything so horrible which he regrets, but can’t admit it to himself at the time. He admits he has more times than he could count. She wonders how he lives with himself. “By constantly reminding myself that we may not be able to change the past, Samantha. But we can control the future,” he answers. Lucas then emerges and Rolf exits. Sami gives a heartfelt apology for everything. She takes full responsibility for hurting him and cries how she hates herself for it. A calmer Lucas hesitates before recalling how many nights he laid awake in prison, then takes her in his arms and kisses her.
Marlena later proceeds to check on Sami. John advises her knock first, since she might be “entertaining.” Roman receives a call, while John tells Marlena that he wishes she wouldn’t involved Roman in this. After Roman hangs up, he reveals that there’s some major police activity at the docks, which involves John’s shipments. He warns John that he could be in trouble.
