NBC has announced that Crystle Stewart, winner of the 2008 Miss USA Pageant, will make a guest appearance on the Friday, June 20th episode of DAYS. When Chelsea and Morgan are working out at the Salem Health Club, they spot Miss USA herself across the room, where Morgan points out that Crystle is one of their sorority national chapter advisers who organized the Breast Cancer Awareness Walkathon at Salem University last year. The three ladies enjoy a brief conversation about this year’s walkathon before the sorority gals wish Crystal luck at this year’s Miss Universe Pageant, which will air Sunday, July 13th on NBC.

Miss Stewart is a twenty-six-year-old entrepreneur from Missouri City, Texas, who won the Miss USA 2008 title on April 11th, 2008 in Las Vegas. She won over first runner-up Miss Leah Laviano from Mississippi and second runner-up Tiffany Andrade from New Jersey. She has proven herself to be very driven and dedicated, as she previously won the title of Miss Texas on her fifth attempt. As previously reported, Kristian Alfonso (Hope) was one of the participating celebrity judges at this year’s Miss USA competition.

Miss Stewart is a graduate of the University of Houston with a BS in Consumer Sciences and Merchandising. She is also a fourth-generation educator and teacher and a party-planning and motivational speaker who runs her own company called Inside/Out. She also models professionally and wants to dedicate her life to international philanthropy. Miss USA has dynamically addressed a crowd of over 1,000 people with her inspirational speech entitled, “Waiting to Win,” where she discusses her personal achievements. Additionally, Miss Stewart also serves as a board member on the Trey Rice Education Fund and Houston Community College’s VAST program, which assists those who have learning disabilities with educational opportunities.

During her tenure as Miss USA, she will be a spokesperson for the official causes of Miss USA, which include breast and ovarian cancer education and research and legislation. This platform is very close to her heart, since she found a lump on her breast which was diagnosed as benign. Miss Stewart stresses the importance of early prevention and looks forward to traveling nationwide as an advocate for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, the National Breast Cancer Coalition, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Gilda’s Club, among others.

This year DAYS has done a fantastic job of recruiting well-known guest stars to the show, including Mike O’Hearn from American Gladiators, Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser, and Ross Matthews from The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, among others. These named guest stars only left us wanting more of them, so hopefully they will one day decide to return and perhaps give DAYS the boost that it needs now more than ever. Be sure to tune in on Friday, June 20th to see Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart!
