The Alpha Chi Theta Halloween party is in full swing as Chelsea comes downstairs dressed as a devil, Stephanie stands along the wall as a race car driver, and Morgan struts across the room dressed as a sexy flight attendant. Morgan approaches Max, who is dressed as himself, and they get cozy as Stephanie glares across the room at them. Stephanie eats chocolate as a comfort food and reveals that Morgan’s website now says that she’s in a relationship. Chelsea encourages her cousin to get over the whole Max and Morgan thing, otherwise she won’t last more than a week in the house. She then questions where Steph went last night. Stephanie has a brief disturbing flashback as she claims she went to a party and encountered a guy. She admits she’s trying to move on, but can’t. “You always want what you can’t have,” remarks Chelsea. Stephanie then shares the news about her new job at the Cheatin’ Heart, but hasn’t yet told Max. Max then approaches the cousins. He confronts Steph about her Cheatin’ Heart job, then admits he’s glad about it. Chelsea proceeds to go find Nick.
Chelsea greets Nick, who is dressed as an angel, at the door and mentions how he said he was coming as a priest. He decided to take it up a notch, though. “Would it be completely sacrilegious if I kissed you right now?” she coyly asks. Nick is happy to oblige and they share a brief smooch. Nick laments how he was supposed to be trick or treating with the boys tonight. The two agree that it’s better this way, since Artemis and DeMarquette are with their parents now.
Morgan enters Cordy’s room and invites her to come and join them. Cordy sees Ford’s aggressive behavior with Ashley and slams the door.
Max observes Ford with Ashley, then briefly discusses his and Steph’s “friend” status before Morgan joins them. Before Steph can gloat to Morgan about her new job, Max interrupts and announces that she didn’t have to buy a new costume. Morgan makes a crack about Steph looking like one of the guys. Sloane then informs Morgan that the girls are complaining about Ford, since he’s apparently hitting on everyone. Max offers to get rid of Ford, but Morgan says she’ll talk to him. He questions Stephanie’s whereabouts last night, which she doesn’t divulge. She queries why Max didn’t want Morgan to know about their upcoming working arrangements. Max claims he didn’t want Morgan to freak out and admits that Morgan’s a bit concerned about their past. Stephanie wonders if he told Morgan about their cave incident. Max stutters and wonders why he would spill that to Morgan. “Are you afraid that she might think that there’s still something going on between us?” wonders Stephanie. Max reminds her that they’re friends, which is what Stephanie wanted. She claims she’s fine with him seeing Morgan, but admits that Morgan’s not the type of girl she sees Max with. Max implores her to spill who she sees Max with. “I don’t know, maybe someone who can drive a stick shift?” she replies. Max then divulges that he’s letting Morgan try to drive his car, which leads Steph to believe that he and Morgan are serious. Max offers to hang out with Morgan at his place if it’s weird for Steph. She claims she’s totally happy for him. He thanks her and kisses her on the cheek. “For the record, you don’t look like just one of the guys,” he notes before walking away. Chelsea rejoins Stephanie and brings her a beer. Steph laments how she blew it with Max by letting him get away.
Nick later presents a challenge to Sloane and Carmen and announces that anyone who can get water from the saucer into the glass without touching the saucer will get an “A” for the semester. The girls claims it’s impossible. Carmen offers to give it a shot.
Meanwhile, Steph continues to glance at Max and Morgan across the room and admits she actually likes Morgan. Chelsea advises Stephanie to play the field. Steph notes how Chelsea sounds like her mom, then goes out for some air, which Max notices.
A drunken Ford later puts his arm around Max and claims they need to hang out more. Max brushes him off as Morgan brings Ford coffee. Ford accidentally drops the coffee cup and breaks it. Morgan refuses to let the jerk drive and swipes his keys. Chelsea suggests they call her mom and mentions that she’s head of campus security. Ford remarks how hot Billie is and agrees to let Chelsea call her. Chelsea summons Max for a private talk and asks him what he thinks of Stephanie. “I think she’s a great girl,” replies an uncomfortable Max. Chelsea mentions the cave incident and says she only wants Steph to be happy. Max then rejoins Morgan and Ford , who argue about the getting home arrangements.
Chelsea then answers the doorbell and encounters Cordy’s parents and invites them to wait inside. They decline, so Chelsea introduces the not so warm and fuzzy parents to Stephanie. Cordy’s mom asks them to tell Cordy that they’ll be waiting in the car. The two gals then inform Cordy that her parents are there. Cordy becomes unsettled upon hearing Ford’s obnoxious voice and slams her door shut. Chelsea and Steph encourage a distressed Cordy to open up, but she refuses.
Nick joins Ford, Max, and Morgan and announces that someone’s car needs a jump. Ford offers, but Max tells him to shove it and proceeds to help Nick out. Morgan tells Ford she can’t be baby-sitting him all night. Ford offers her two choices: she can give him back his keys or give him a lift. She reluctantly agrees to drive him home and proceeds to go fetch her jacket. Ford then slips a drug into her drink. He picks their glasses up and makes a toast to Halloween. She takes a drink before they leave. A concerned Max watches them walk out together.
Back in Cordy’s room, Chelsea assures Cordy that Ford left, so she can open up to them. A hesitant Cordy then tearfully reveals that Ford raped her. A wide-eyed Stephanie is speechless.
