Sami brings the baby boy out to EJ. He beams at the sight of his son and asks to hold him. Sami leads him over to the couch and reluctantly complies. “EJ, this is it. From this moment on, for the rest of your life, nothing will ever be the same,” she declares. She emphasizes that the child is the most important thing in the world. EJ agrees to let the boy stay tonight, but says that tomorrow night the three of them start their lives as a family. EJ whispers to the boy that the three of them will happily ever after.
Lucas later visits Stefano and confronts him about forcing Sami to marry his lunatic son. “And when she does, the war between the families will end, eh?” confirms Stefano, who insists that Lucas’s sacrifice won’t be in vain. Lucas confronts him about sending his goons to open fire on Kate and nearly killing her. Stefano declares that he would never hurt Kate for any reason. “Because if I wanted somebody dead, they would be,” he affirms. Lucas tells him to go to he!! and storms out.
Kate is later on the phone at Titan when Lucas barges in and demands that she hang up. “Stefano told me he had nothing to do with your attack,” confronts Lucas. He doesn’t believe Stefano set up the hit on Kate, since she’s not a Brady and thus there’s not a vendetta against her. Lucas suspects that Kate and EJ were behind the whole set-up. Kate feigns surprise. Lucas accuses her of setting up the whole thing just so he’d follow through with the divorce, which Kate denies. He makes a phone call to EJ, determined to get to the bottom of the truth. “I’m with my mom right now and she just admitted that you two staged that whole thing,” he says. EJ claims it was Kate’s idea. Lucas hangs up and confronts her about betraying him yet again. He expresses how disgusted he is that she used John’s death to split him and Sami up. She claims that doesn’t have anything to do with the divorce. Lucas proclaims that he only agreed to the divorce to protect Kate. Kate cries how scared she was and expresses how she wants the whole vendetta saga to end. Lucas declares that she’s lost him and her grandchildren forever.
Back at Sami’s apartment, EJ later sits in a chair and raves how beautiful their boy is. He notes what a shame it is that Lucas doesn’t understand what they’re doing for their families. “You mean what we’re being forced to do?” clarifies Sami. EJ states his delusional belief that the three of them are going to be a family in every sense of the word. After he finally leaves, Colleen’s ghost appears before Sami and states that she’s getting exactly what she wanted. Sami asserts that she loves Lucas with all of her heart, and the only reason she’s marrying EJ is to protect her family. Colleen deduces that if it was true, then there’s nothing on the green earth that could make her become his wife. Sami gets defensive and wonders what her great aunt is doing there. Colleen insists she wants to help Sami see that she doesn’t need excuses and lies. Sami accuses Colleen of starting the vendetta in the first place along with Santo. “Then it’s only fitting that you be the one to end it the right way. The way it was meant to be,” implores Colleen. Sami questions what was so special about Santo that made her walk away from her family. Colleen replies that it’s the same things that Sami sees in EJ. “Danger, desire, like nothing you’ve ever known,” she adds. Colleen implores her to look inside herself and she’ll see which man she desires the most. Sami yells how she feels nothing good for EJ, but Colleen believes otherwise. She demands for Colleen to leave her alone.
Bo and Hope later go downstairs together, where Hope notes how tense Belle looked when he and Shawn arrived back upstairs. Hope divulges how she made it very clear to Belle that she wouldn’t hesitate to tell Shawn everything if she didn’t steer clear of Philip. Bo admits he came very close to telling Shawn. They agree that they’re doing the right thing by keeping mum.
A breathless Lucas later arrives at the pub and reveals to Bo and Hope that Sami has agreed to marry EJ tomorrow night and alerts them they they’ll all have to stop her somehow. “Sami’s getting an intervention,” he declares.
Philip later goes back to his office and proceeds to make a phone call. Meanwhile, Shawn and Belle hold each other close in their room as Belle queries if Bo’s okay with them getting married. Shawn notes that both of his parents were in shock and surmises that they weren’t expecting things to happen so soon. He declares that on Thanksgiving he’s going to be giving thanks to the best thing that ever happened to him. Belle smiles and agrees she will too. They share a kiss and exchange “I love you’s,” before he proceeds to go in the bathroom. He brushes his teeth after Belle makes a joke about him smelling like beer. She sits on the bed and has a flashback of her time in bed with Philip. Her thoughts are interrupted by a phone call from none other than Philip, who insists on seeing her someplace public to talk. She refuses and reveals that she and Shawn are getting married on Thanksgiving. She hangs up the phone as Shawn emerges from the bathroom and lies that it was the wrong number. He holds her and says he doesn’t want anymore distractions. Meanwhile, a devastated Philip peers out the window at his office.
EJ later visits Stefano and announces that the wedding is all set for tomorrow night. He then marvels how his son is the most beautiful and perfect thing he’s ever seen. Stefano wonders where he is. EJ reveals that he agreed to let the boy stay with his mother for one more night. Stefano believes the boy should be with his father and suggests taking the boy to Italy, but EJ claims he can’t do that to Sami. EJ affirms that he and Sami will raise the boy together and assures Stefano that he will be a DiMera through and through. Stefano admits he’s proud of EJ, but warns him that the work is not done. He reminds EJ that the future of the DiMera family rests in EJ and little Johnny’s hands.
