Mr. Swarmy

By Gwen Morett, About.com

Cheatin’ Heart

Max looks at a book entitled, Gold Fusion, which was written by his dead father Trent Robbins. “Fine example you set, Dad,” mutters Max before he tosses the book in the trash.

Brady Pub

Melanie and Chelsea get into a catfight. Meanwhile, Philip is outside on the phone and hears the commotion. He looks inside and continues to talk business as Chelsea and Melanie continue their altercation. A bystander enjoys the show as Melanie rubs it in how Chelsea got Nick involved with Willow and Ford Decker. She also rehashes how Dr. Daniel slept with Kate and insists that she knows the real Chelsea. “You don’t know anything, Melanie! You know nothing!” yells Chelsea. Melanie argues that Chelsea has respect for nobody. “Including that poor, helpless child. What was his name?” badgers Melanie. Chelsea attacks Melanie and Philip rushes in and breaks up the fight. Chelsea pushes Melanie one last time before walking out, which only infuriates Melanie. Stephanie sees a furious Chelsea leaving and tells her to wait.

Back inside, Philip asks Melanie if she’s satisfied. Melanie admits that she is, since someone needed to put “that dumb girl” in her place. Philip tells her to watch her mouth. A snarky Melanie tells him to save his CEO crap for somebody who cares.

Philip goes outside and encounters Stephanie, who notes how Chelsea ran out like a bat out of hell. He reveals that she and Melanie got into a fight. Stephanie wishes she would’ve arrived sooner. “Why? So you and Chelsea could’ve tagged team? Taken Melanie down?” assumes Philip. Steph admits she would’ve pummeled Melanie. “Scary. Sexy,” notes an intrigued Philip. Stephanie coyly warns him that next time her best friend gets into a fight and he doesn’t stop it, he’s going to have to deal with her. Philip doesn’t seem to mind. Stephanie hands him the green initiative for the riverfront development. He looks over the folder as Stephanie inquires who he was interviewing for the administrative assistant position. Philip demurs that it’s Melanie. Steph doesn’t understand how she could possibly be qualified to work at Titan.

Back inside, Melanie sits at the bar and asks Lisa if they do drinks on credit. Lisa says no, so Melanie asks for water. An older man then remarks what a performance Melanie had, referring to her as a spitfire. Melanie gets an idea in her head to swipe some money from the “silver fox” sitting next to her. The man introduces himself as Bob, who offers to buy her a drink. She requests a diet soda and quips how she walks on the wild side.

Bob later implores Melanie to have something like an Apricot Martini. She declines, but he continues to twist her arm. She tries to leave, but he grabs her arm. She sarcastically apologizes for hurting his feelings and leaves.

Back outside, Stephanie implores Philip to explain how Melanie could possibly be qualified to work at Titan. Philip believes she’s plenty qualified, but the bottom line is, she’s a troublemaker whom he doesn’t need there. Melanie emerges and tells Philip she wouldn’t take his stupid job. “Great attitude, especially for someone who’s flat broke,” quips Steph. Philip thanks Steph her for the file and for putting him on notice about the fighting.

Meanwhile, Melanie has managed to steal Bob’s wallet and counts his money. She is soon confronted by Bob, who grabs her and calls her a lying bitch.

Cheatin’ Heart

Chelsea later shows up at and sits at the bar. Max has already heard about the fight between Chelsea and Melanie. Chelsea blames herself for Nick snapping and killing Trent. Max implores her to let go of that and insists that his sister is wrong. Chelsea believes if she hadn’t broken up with Nick, then Trent would still be alive and Nick would still be free. “I’m the one that pushed Nick into Melanie’s arms,” laments Chelsea. Max continues to insist that nothing is her fault. Chelsea believes that everything she touches is destroyed. “Let’s look at my past,” she suggests. Max doesn’t care about her past and reminds her what she’s doing with Theo and the other kids at the hospital, referring to her as amazing. She appreciates that Max is trying to make her feel better, but she has to take responsibility and make amends with Nick. Max tries to assure her that Nick did what he did because he lost it. He rehashes how Nick’s mom was unstable.

Chelsea apologizes for dragging Max into all her craziness. He assures her that they’re friends and it’s his job. She proceeds to leave and reveals that they’re having a welcome home party for Kate, who is on the road to recovery. Max jokes how he’s not going to take it if she’s feeling blue. “I’m here for you. Always,” he assures.

Safe House

Rafe answers the knock on the door to Hilda, who thought she would never come there again. Hilda sneezes and states that she brought her own non-drowsy allergy medicine. Rafe points out that Sleeping Beauty (Sami) is out like a light and hopes that Hilda doesn’t have to deal with her before he returns. Hilda questions where exactly Rafe is going. Rafe claims he’s just going on a little mission.

Outside the door, Rafe looks at a picture of E.J. before leaving. Back inside, Hilda struggles to keep from sneezing so she won’t wake up her worst nightmare. She takes her cold medicine and is miffed that she got the nighttime formula. “Here’s to you, you big beautiful blond,” she toasts before chugging some down. Afterwards, she sits down on the sofa intent on watching TV.

Hilda watches a ball game on TV and yells in excitement before passing out and snoring. Sami wakes up and is shocked to find that Rafe has left her with “Hilda the hun.” She discovers that Hilda chugged her cold medicine and deduces that Rafe will blame her for this. Sami looks out the window and suggests going on a walk and getting some fresh air.

Sami arrives at a convent and slowly kneels down, puts her head in her hand, and cries. A nun puts her hand on Sami’s shoulder and asks if she’s alright. “No Sister, I’m not,” replies Sami. The nun introduces herself as Sister Theresa and assures Sami that she’s not there to judge her, only to help.
