Stefano approaches a deceased Andre’s bedside and takes a deep breath, noting how loyal and brave Andre was until the end. He swears that Andre will be given an honorable place in the DiMera tomb. He kisses his “best soldier” on the head before covering him up. The Phoenix then wheels over to the door and mutters a phrase from the opera, ready to confront Shawn. He vows that the vendetta is far from over and that Andre’s murder will not go unpunished. Shawn denies murdering anyone. Stefano demands that Officer Chatsworth arrest Shawn for the murder of Andre DiMera. The officer claims there’s no proof that anyone killed him. Stefano warns Shawn that he won’t get away with killing Andre. “Empty threats from an empty man,” remarks Bo as he arrives along with Hope. “Do you realize that this man killed Andre?” announces a furious Stefano. Shawn is speechless and nods his head. Bo doesn’t believe his pop is capable . Stefano urges Bo to arrest him, since he was in Andre’s room at the time. “You want justice? Get in line, cause so do I!” exclaims Bo, who implores Stefano to put a bullet in his own brain and end all of their suffering. Stefano states that even without Andre, his death would be avenged because he has sons. Bo derides how Tony’s not his son by blood and Elvis was going to marry a Brady. Bo then reveals that Sami ripped up the annulment papers. “Well, then she’s more foolish than I thought,” replies Stefano, who chuckles when Bo affirms that Sami has her family behind her. “Your time is over, Old Man,” remarks Bo. Stefano advises Bo not to underestimate Elvis, since he always gets what he wants. “Not this time,” says Hope. Bo tells Chatsworth to escort Stefano into his dead nephew’s room. A daunted Shawn then tells Bo and Hope how Stefano used him by deliberately telling him the truth about Stefano’s mother so Shawn could destroy Colleen. Shawn implies that he had a ghostly visit from his sister. “And that’s why in the end, I couldn’t do it,” he adds. Bo assumes he didn’t kill Andre. Hope wonders who did. “He did it himself,” reveals Shawn, who saw a brief flicker of remorse in Andre’s eyes.
Back in Andre’s room, Stefano vows to avenge his death. Bo enters and informs the elder DiMera that Hope just took Shawn home. “He should be in jail!” insists Stefano. Bo reveals that Andre pulled the plug, although Shawn wanted to do it but couldn’t. Stefano believes Shawn is lying. Bo surmises that Andre got tired of fighting for Stefano and insists that no crime has been committed, even though Shawn jammed the door. “This was a suicide,” states Bo. Stefano warns Bo that there will be a trial and thus Shawn will spend the rest of his days in a cage. Bo implores him to go for a trial, but insists no jury in the country will find Shawn guilty. Stefano threatens to find another way to avenge Andre’s death. “I want you out of my town, even if I have to get rid of you myself!” orders Bo. “I come and go as I please, and I will decide when the vendetta is over!” asserts Stefano.
Bo refers to the whole vendetta as a hoax and fumes how Santo caused his own pain by lying to Colleen, ultimately resulting in her suicide. “You let my pop live in torment all these years knowing he is not responsible for Colleen’s death,” seethes Bo, who reveals that Shawn was only eight years old. They continue to argue about the sordid history of their families. He excoriates Stefano for taking advantage of Shawn, who still has a lost little boy inside of him. “Your father murdered Colleen with his lies, deceit, and deception!” roars Bo. “Like father, like son! You blame the same innocent man!” he spits. A furious Bo chastises Stefano for training Andre to be just like him and places the blame onto Stefano for Andre’s death.
At the parking lot clinic, Marlena is bewildered that Belle would park so far away. “She may as well wear a sign that says, ‘Come mug me! I’m here! I’m alone! There’s nobody around!’” rants Marlena. John tells her to relax as he attempts to pry the lock. They playfully banter back and forth before Marlena successfully opens Belle’s door before John does. They both laugh. Marlena retrieves Belle’s keys as she and John continue their playful banter. He suggests she call Belle and ask her where she wants them to bring the keys. As John walks away, a car suddenly comes speeding by, running over John. Marlena lets out a blood curling scream. “NOOOO!” she bellows.
Back at the pub, Sami suggests there’s another way to end the vendetta by talking to Stefano and convincing him to end this war once and for all. He admits he only cares about her. She tells him to get over it. He insinuates that by tearing up the annulment, she has sealed the fate of her family. Lucas interrupts them and declares that EJ’s out of their lives. “It was your choice,” EJ reminds Sami. Lucas puts his arm around Sami and claims it was their choice. EJ wishes her luck before Sami’s phone rings. “Oh, God Sami,” cries Marlena as she hovers over John’s badly injured body. She quivers as she reveals that John was hit by a car and they’re in the alley behind the Salem clinic. Sami cries and assures her that she and Lucas will be there ASAP. She then shares the bad news about John. Lucas immediately suspects EJ, but he denies any involvement. A distraught Sami reminds EJ of how he mentioned that she sealed her own fate by ripping up the annulment. “Lucas what have I done?” she cries as she clings to her husband.
Back at the parking lot, Marlena pleads with John to hang on. Belle witnesses the scene and comes racing over to her mother’s side. Marlena claims it was a hit and run. Belle is crestfallen and cries what kind of person would hit someone and take off. Marlena suspects Stefano and urges John to hang on. “Take our strength and hold on!” she wails.
