Taking a Little Stroll Down Memory Lane

From , former About.com Guide

Bo approaches Abe at the cemetery. He uncovers Benjy and inquires about his time of death. Abe speculates that it was 24 hours ago. Bo admits that sometimes his job gets to him seeing the innocent get hurt like Benjy. Abe advises Bo not to let his anger control him. He reveals that Steve was there and took off like a bat out of he!!. “Well, he finds Andre before we do someone’s not walking away from that,” hints Bo, who suggests they beef up the guard on Stefano in order to keep Steve from doing anything stupid. Abe informs him that Stefano’s back in a hospital room. He states that he posted a guard outside Stefano’s room and told the guard to alert him when Steve showed up. Abe’s convinced that Steve won’t get by Stefano’s room, but Bo doubts it. “When Steve’s angry, he’s hard to stop,” warns Bo.

Abe later instructs an officer to get soil samples over to the lab ASAP. As time goes by, Bo is less convinced that Roman will be found alive. EJ approaches the men offering to help. Bo and EJ exchange barbs before EJ announces he may have the fast track to finding Roman. Bo tells Abe he’ll handle Elvis, then warns EJ not to yank his chain. He then invites EJ to take a look at his brother Benjy. EJ has the gall to ask who did this to his brother. “Well, your old man’s in the hospital so that leaves Andre,” replies Bo, as if EJ should have to ask. EJ wonders if Benjy was buried alive. Bo notes that it would be a DiMera move to buy someone alive. EJ kneels down and tells Benjy he’s sorry. Bo implores him to tell that to the wife and little baby he left behind. An angry Bo points out that Benjy was gutted for his liver, but apparently it wasn’t a big enough sacrifice. EJ claims he had no idea Benjy was a target and would’ve stopped his family from harming Benjy. “He was a good guy. Your family killed him!” spits Bo. EJ then displays the infamous folio along with the contents. He notes how interesting it is that the two rings have never been warn, yet they hold the key to ending the vendetta and finding Roman alive. Bo is convinced Sami won’t marry EJ no matter what the folio reveals. EJ reveals that Sami already agreed, but Bo is dubious. Bo refers to EJ as sick for taking the fifty-year-old tragedy and spinning it into his own fairy tale. He bickers with Elvis and claims that Santo seduced his Aunt Colleen. EJ clarifies that Santo and Colleen were in love. Bo fumes as he reveals that the little boy who discovered the horrid truth that about Santo’s duplicity was Shawn. Shawn told Colleen the truth, then she jumped off a cliff. “But only a sick son of a bitch like yourself could reach into such a grizzly tragedy and grab the golden ring!” chastises Bo. EJ claims he’s sorry about Grandpa Shawn’s guilt, but points out that if he doesn’t marry Sami, the vendetta will live on and Roman will die.

Bo later wonders what EJ did to Sami in order to force her to agree to the terms. A smug EJ claims it was Sami’s idea and notes how brave she is for her willingness to do whatever it takes in order to save Roman and end the vendetta. “You’re as crazy as Andre if you think I’m gonna let my niece marry into your twisted family!” sneers Bo. EJ claims he merely came there to make a courtesy call to assure Bo that everything’s being done to save Roman. “Roman would rather die than have his daughter marry a DiMera!” affirms Bo.

Abe later joins the not so warm and fuzzy banter and displays Roman’s badge which one of the officers found in the grave. Abe deduces that Andre knew they would head to the cemetery the moment they found the chauffeur’s uniform at his hideout. EJ speculates that Stefano already contacted Andre and had Roman released, since the vendetta’s over. Abe is clueless as to what EJ’s talking about. EJ smugly reveals to Abe that Sami’s divorcing Lucas and marrying him.

At the pub, Lucas is fuming that Sami wants to divorce him in order to marry EJ. Sami professes that it’s only to end the vendetta and protect her family. “You’re going to marry the man who raped you, the man who shot John, put him in a hospital for months in a coma!” rehashes Lucas, who implores her not to go through with it. Sami insists it’s the only way to ensure that her family survives. “I thought I was your family,” counters Lucas, who reminds her of their wedding vows. She claims she doesn’t want to marry EJ. Lucas wonders if she’s marrying EJ just to end the vendetta or if ending the vendetta’s just an excuse to marry EJ. Sami is stunned by his question. “Do you love the guy or what?” demands Lucas. She professes to love Lucas more than anything. Lucas reminds her that they’re talking about her feelings for EJ, not him. “The only thing I feel for EJ is loathing,” declares Sami, who insists once again that she needs to save her dad and protect her family. A peeved Lucas wonders why they’re letting two dead people such as Colleen and Santo control their destinies from their graves. “Lucas, I had to agree to marry EJ, or my dad would be dead right now,” she cries. Lucas admits he wishes they never would’ve gone to Maison Blanche and found those letters, since none of this would be happening right now. She claims they wouldn’t have known how to stop the vendetta without those letters. Lucas proclaims he doesn’t want the vendetta to end if it means losing her. Sami professes that he’ll never lose her. He chastises her for deciding to marry EJ and divorce him, since he doubts the DiMeras will leave her family alone despite her sacrifice.

A heartbroken Lucas later calms down and pleads his case to Sami. They profess to love each other. He insists they can figure out a way to end the war. She insists there’s no other way and believes she was meant to make this sacrifice in order to keep her family safe. “Don’t tell that you believe in that, that cr@p about fate, about you and EJ!” he implores. She professes to Lucas that she was meant to be with him. “I am your future! Me! Lucas Roberts! Not that obnoxious Brit who happens to look like his grandfather!” Lucas proclaims. He furiously berates her for putting him through this heartbreak, then storms off.
