An Emotional Good-Bye

By , About.com Guide

Nick and Chelsea are trapped in a room, where Nick yells at the man to leave his kids alone. Chelsea warns Nick not to step towards her, since she’s standing over a bomb which will go off if she moves. Brainy Nick rambles off a formula as he tries to figure out a way to outsmart the bomb. He urges her to stop shaking and claims the bomb looks like an S4250, which goes off only if it’s triggered. Chelsea pleads with him to help her, saying she doesn’t want to die. Nick fetches a TV and proceeds to replace the bomb with the TV. He instructs her to step off the bomb on the count of three while he slides the TV over. Chelsea cries as she confesses that she’s really glad he’s in her life and apologizes for dragging him into this. Nick promises her that they’ll make it through this. He counts to three, then deduces that it worked. Chelsea panics when they hear pounding at the door. A beeping sound goes off as Umar Abboud barges through the door and urges them to hurry out and stay down. Umar checks out the bomb, then reveals it was never on and there were no explosives. Nick wonders who would do something that sick. “Someone who wanted to scare you very badly Mr. Fallon,” replies Umar. Nick demands to see the boys, but Umar tells him all in due time.

The police later arrive as Nick questions where the boys are. Billie arrives and hugs Chelsea, expressing relief that she’s okay. Jett declares that the boys are being debriefed and the feds were called. “What the he!! is going on? Where are the boys?” demands Nick to Umar. Umar recalls how he told Nick at his apartment that he’s not a threat. The boys are reunited with Nick and call him Daddy. Umar instructs the boys to go back to the police car for now. He reveals that the boys’ father and his wife have been granted political asylum and it’s now safe for the boys to be returned back home. Billie and Chelsea approach them as Billie demands to know who kidnaped her daughter. Umar states that the boys’ father has many followers, but also many enemies, who would go so far as to use the boys for leverage or even extortion. He claims that the people who are responsible have now been apprehended, which Chelsea is relieved to hear. Umar declares that the danger’s over and the boys’ parents are in Nick’s debt. Nick asks to speak to the boys before they head back to their country. He assures the boys that everything’s fine and nobody’s going to hurt them anymore, referring to Umar as a “pretty cool dude.” Nick reflects how they’ve taught him a lot and advises them to never stop learning. The boys ask if Nick’s coming with them. Nick says no and admits he’ll miss them a lot, assuring them that he’ll come and visit. Nick gets choked up as he admits that if he ever has kids, he wants them to be just like the boys: smart, funny, all-around great guys. Chelsea has tears in her eyes as Nick shares an emotional good-bye with Artemis and DeMarquette. He embraces them, then they step back and stare, stating that they’re picturing Nick in their mind so they never forget him. Nick professes how much he’ll miss them. He helps them into the car and exchanges high fives with them. Chelsea comforts an emotional Nick.

At the sorority house, Max helps Cordy with a box when a drunken obnoxious Ford enters the house with his date. Cordy appears unsettled by his visit. “What’s the matter Cordy? Not in a party mood? There’s a shocker!” derides Ford. Max tells the jerk to leave Cordy alone. Ford proposes they mix up mimosas. Max suggests that Amy, Ford’s unlucky date, head up to her room and get some sleep. Ford quips how the sorority house has a new house mom. Amy goes upstairs to get some tunes as Ford helps himself to the kitchen. Max insists to Cordy that they need to talk.

Max later helps Cordy pack up and notes that her departure is rather sudden. She tells him it’s none of his business. He hands her some books and speculates that her decision to leave college has to do with Ford Decker. Cordy clams up and claims there’s nothing to talk about. Max brushes past Ford and asks what’s up with Cordy. “What? You’re not getting any from Morgan, so you gotta take it out on me?” assumes Ford. Max grabs Ford and pushes him down on the couch. “Do yourself a favor and stay down!” warns Max.

Morgan later approaches a sleeping Max on the couch and kisses him on the cheek, which awakens him. He asks where she was when he returned earlier. She reveals that she grabbed Ashley and went looking for Chelsea. Max says she should’ve woken him up. “I tried. Two kisses didn’t work,” she smiles. “Well you should’ve tried harder,” he playfully suggests. She claims she’s not done trying. Max is relieved when Morgan reveals that she received a text message from Chelsea stating she was okay and is with Billie, Nick, and the cops. Max recounts how Ford came in drunk with a girl late which freaked out Cordy. Morgan refers to Ford as a harmless pain, but Max believes that Ford’s the reason why Cordy’s dropping out of college and heading home.

Morgan brings a tray of goodies out and gives Max a rundown of how busy Cordy’s college life is. Max notes how different Cordy’s been acting ever since her date with Ford and practically ran in her room when he showed up last night. Morgan speculates that Cordy’s embarrassed because the date was such a bust, but Max doubts it and wonders what if Ford hurts another girl like he supposedly hurt Cordy.

Billie later proceeds to call Bo and Roman and give them an update. Jett approaches a preoccupied Chelsea and notes that it’s a rotten way to end up seeing each other. He admits he’s missed her and was hoping to run into her on campus a little more. He speculates that maybe he imagined it, but he thought they kind of started something after he got shot. Chelsea glances over at Nick and claims it was so long ago. A clueless Jett wonders if he did something to hurt her and asks her out to dinner. She brushes him off and walks over to Nick. “I’m sorry about the boys,” she says. Nick admits it’s better this way, but it will be hard going back to an empty apartment.
