Back at the TV station, Steve implores Roman to get to the hospital and insists that Andre was lying about Sami. He says Lucas arrived at the pub in time. Roman instructs the officer on duty to escort Steve to lock-up in a single cell and to forbid him from speaking to anyone without a lawyer. “This maniac just held a gun to my head,” states Stefano. Steve admits he’d do it again. Stefano warns Steve that he’ll be spending the rest of his life in the mental hospital. “For what? Wanting you dead? He!!, that makes me the smartest dude in Salem,” retorts Steve.
Roman is later on a gurney and insists he needs to know about Hope. He finally thanks Steve for his heroics. Steve urges him to focus on getting better. “Get this human waste out of my sight,” Stefano orders the officers. Steve asks the officers for a minute with Stefano, who taunts how destroying Steve will be a pleasant distraction from the vendetta. Steve jokes how it would be fun if he and Stefano ended up in the same cell block together. “If someone sticks a chiv in you and lets all of the air out of that big fat ego,” adds Steve. “No-one talks to Stefano DiMera like that for very long,” replies the daunting DiMera.
EJ later arrives at the station and is embraced by a relieved Stefano. The two DiMeras sit down as EJ recounts how Andre tied him and Sami up in the Brady Pub kitchen and turned on the gas. EJ assures his father that Sami’s fine and implores Stefano to go home. Stefano fumes how Andre killed Benjy. He claims he didn’t want his children to be put through all of this madness. EJ urges him to quit talking and go home to rest. Stefano laments how he’s failed his father and now he’s failing his children. EJ assures him that’s not the case since he taught them about family and honor. “There is no honor in burying your children,” counters Stefano. EJ declares that this is the beginning of a new DiMera dynasty for them.
Stefano later admits that he was wrong to lose faith in Elvis. They discuss the fact that Sami is having Lucas’s twins, not EJ’s. EJ speculates that Lucas will have a part-time influence at best. He asserts that he can raise the children to be DiMeras in every way. Stefano predicts that Lucas will have something to say about that one. “Well then maybe Lucas needs to be silenced,” implies EJ.
Sami enters Roman’s hospital room, where they share an embrace. Roman wonders if Lucas found her at the pub. Sami is puzzled as to how Lucas would know where to look. Roman recalls how Andre was bragging about killing her and EJ. Sami then shares how tests have shown that the twins weren’t affected by the gaseous fumes she inhaled. “Daddy we have to stop checking into this place. The room service here sucks,” she jokes. Roman chuckles in agreement. She then presents a card she made for him and cries how he’s the best dad in the whole world. He comforts an emotional Sami and assures her that he’s fine. She expresses how worried she was and asks what happened to Andre. Roman reveals that Andre took Hope hostage. Sami insists that once she marries EJ, the DiMeras will never hurt them again. Roman tries to dissuade her from marrying Elvis. Sami, though, claims it’s the only way to end the vendetta. Roman disagrees, since violence and revenge are in the DiMera blood.
Lucas arrives in Roman’s room just as the good commissioner is wheeled out. Lucas and Sami embrace as Sami assures him that she and the twins are fine. She apologizes for missing him at the pub. He gives her the silent treatment as she wonders what’s wrong. “Well for starters, our children might be raised by the DiMeras,” replies Lucas. He forewarns her that they’ll end up in court regarding custody of the twins. He rehashes how she’s pouring her faith into a guy who raped her. She claims she doesn’t have a choice. He declares that he wants her to leave Salem with him and implores her to let him provide for her and protect her. She claims that Salem’s their home. Lucas attests that it doesn’t matter where they live as long as they’re together. They continue to argue about the prospect of leaving. Sami insists she won’t be with EJ forever. Lucas is convinced that EJ will never let her go nonetheless. Sami begs Lucas to wait for her, while Lucas coaxes her not to leave him. “Is Dad right? Are you walking out on us?” asks Will as he finally returns home.
Kayla later arrives at the TV station and embraces Steve. Kayla is flabbergasted when Steve reveals that Andre took Hope hostage on the rooftop and Bo followed them. Kayla yells to Stefano how her family has had enough terror in her family.
EJ later insists to his father that Sami showed him that her heart lies with him and suspects that Sami has a sense of duty to Lucas. EJ hints how he was hoping Stefano could help Sami sever ties from Lucas. Stefano asks EJ what his plan is for Lucas. EJ’s convinced that he can make Sami forget about Lucas in time. Stefano wonders what type of persuasion would be most effective in getting Sami to agree to a marriage with EJ.
Steve later apologizes to Kayla for upsetting her and assures her that he won’t be put away for long. She assures him she’ll stay close as the officers lead him away.
The other officers come back to the rooftop after Andre falls and reveal that Andre’s still alive, but in bad shape. They also inform the Bradys that Roman is back at the hospital and is stable. One of the officers compliments Bo on his good work. Bo and Hope conclude the drama with a kiss.
Hope and Bo are later on the ground after the traumatic experience on the rooftop. Bo assures a shaken Hope that they’re going home to their little girl. Hope asks Bo if it feels like the end of the vendetta to him. He states that the whole ordeal is far from over, then embraces her as they ponder what’s next for their family.
