Sami is sleeping beside Lucas at the Horton cabin and snuggles in his arms. She kisses Lucas, believing that he’s E.J. Sami quickly jumps out of bed and calls Lucas a jerk for kissing her. “Oh, my God what happened last night? What did we do?” asks a flustered Sami. Lucas mutters how it’s way too early in the morning for this kind of drama. “Well then you shouldn’t have kissed me!” accuses Sami.
Lucas recalls how exhausted she was and how she passed out on the bed, but nothing happened. Sami questions how she ended up wearing his shirt if that's the case. Lucas smirks how he wanted her to be comfortable. Sami is shocked to realize that he undressed her. “What? It’s not like I haven’t seen the goods before,” he smiles. Lucas apologizes for the kiss, stating that she’s in love with E.J. and he’s in love with Chloe. Sami asks him not to insult her before she’s had her tea.
Lucas reiterates his previous advice to tell E.J. about the baby. Sami notes how mature he’s being about the situation and wonders what’s in it for him. Lucas thought their days of hidden agendas were over. He implores Sami to tell the man she loves, E.J., that she’s pregnant with his child. Sami says she just needs to figure out a few things, like where E.J. stands with Nicole and Stefano. Lucas advises her to tell him soon, noting how she’s starting to show.
At the DiMera mansion, Stefano reads to Johnny. “You must be getting desperate if you’re recruiting soldiers that young,” remarks John. Stefano believes it’s never too early to teach a young child about loyalty and power. John experiences another headache, which Stefano notices. John claims they’re not bad, but it would help if Stefano would stop the construction, since the noises are making him crazy. Stefano simply suggests that he move out. John says it’s not an option and needs to find some champagne for his juice. Stefano advises him to see a doctor, but John believes his headaches will be a thing of the past once he reestablishes control of the DiMera empire.
After John walks out, E.J. barges into the living room and takes Johnny out of the playpen, asking where Samantha is. After E.J. puts Johnny down to sleep he expresses concern over how Sami disappeared and left Johnny without telling him where she went. Stefano smokes a cigar and offers to watch “Giovanni” for him, but E.J. insists that Mary can babysit. Stefano reveals that Mary is taking the rest of the day off. E.J. says he has a meeting to get to which he can’t miss. Stefano reiterates his offer to babysit, but E.J. still says no.
E.J. is later dressed and ready to go to his meeting, intent on taking Johnny with him. Stefano once again offers to watch Johnny. E.J. admits that he doesn’t like it, but reluctantly agrees to let Stefano watch Johnny.
Back at the mansion, John is popping pills as he makes a call to someone named Brad, hinting how he’s discovered something about Stefano.
John later hears the doorbell ring and appears to have another headache, then answers it to Marlena. She asks him to sign the divorce papers, wondering why she should stick around if he doesn’t care enough to go to the hospital and find out what’s wrong with him. He refuses to let her give up on their marriage and pulls her into a passionate kiss.
Back at the cabin, Lucas is later dressed and ready to go with Allie. He apologizes to Sami for what he said earlier, claiming she’s barely showing. Sami thanks him, but admits that she won’t be able to hide her pregnancy much longer. He assures her that she looks beautiful no matter what. “Are you flirting with me?” she smiles. Lucas jokingly tells her to get over herself. Sami’s phone rings, noting that it’s E.J. She answers it and E.J. demands to know where the hell she’s been. Sami claims she sent him a text message and needed some time to clear her head.
Stefano takes Johnny for a stroll to the cemetery, laughing how the place is more fun than a playground. He begins to talk about the DiMera legacy, but is interrupted by a phone call. “John Black is a liar!” states Stefano, who hears how John is pulling all of the board members on the idea of having a new CEO. He tells “Giovanni” that Uncle John is being a naughty boy, remarking how John will end up in one of the graves very soon if he doesn’t watch his step. Sami appears and demands to know what Stefano’s doing with her son. Stefano claims he just took Johnny for a walk and wanted to introduce the boy to his forefathers. “You are such a freak!” exclaims Sami.
Stefano questions what Sami’s doing there. Sami states that she came to the church to say a prayer and happened to see him when she was walking to her car. He questions what she was praying for. “I wish I had been praying for a stake so I could drive it through your heart right now while I had the chance!” she rants. Stefano is amused. Sami affirms that she doesn’t want him anywhere near her son. Stefano informs Sami that Elvis had a very important meeting to attend and there was no-one else around. Sami refuses to allow him to influence her son’s life. She answers her phone to E.J. and complains how she found Stefano taking Johnny for a stroll through the cemetery, calling him nuts for allowing Stefano to watch their son. E.J. points out that Mary was already gone for the day and Sami was nowhere to be found. Sami fears that Stefano could take Johnny and they would never see their son again. E.J. asserts that Johnny is his son too, so he doesn’t need to run everything by her. He asks her to come to Chez Rouge so they can talk.
After Sami hangs up, she intends on taking her son. Stefano expresses how he hopes that one day she and Elvis will bless him with more heirs. Sami looks daunted by his words and leaves. Stefano later makes a call to someone, deciding to let John Black have his audience with the board.
Lucas shows up at Chez Rouge and encounters E.J., asking if he talked to Sami. He quickly figures out that Sami didn’t tell him about the pregnancy. Meanwhile, Sami heads back to the cabin with Johnny, fearing that Stefano knows she’s pregnant.
