The last time we saw Frankie Brady in Salem was on Thanksgiving in 2006. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Billy Warlock’s choice to leave the show. I thought this was one of the biggest mistakes in the history of DAYS to let this Emmy winning actor go. Frankie was heartbroken over Jennifer’s choice to stay with Jack and move to London. Therefore, he just couldn’t stick around in Salem where there were too many memories of the woman he loved for more than twenty years. He portrayed Frankie the good guy with such dignity, compassion, and unselfishness. He proved his love for Jennifer in the most noble way when he discovered a cure for Jack’s illness. Although he knew in his heart Jennifer would more than likely ultimately choose Jack over him, he had treasured Jack as a friend and wanted to help save his life so Jennifer could be with her true soulmate. It’s quite obvious why he won an Emmy back in 1988.
It doesn’t make sense that DAYS would let the character of Frankie go so they could have newbies like Jeremy, Jett, and Stephanie take up our screen time. What about Billie? She deserves a story of her own rather than being restricted to playing detective for her younger brother Philip. Julie Pinson and Billy Warlock are married in real life. Thus, the on-screen potential chemistry would be smoldering between Frankie and Billie as the next supercouple of DAYS. Frankie and Billie have both pined after other people who have always been taken, so these two broken hearts could come together and create magic together. Can anybody else picture the possibilities with the storylines between these two?
Now that Max has gotten in over his head with the Touch the Sky Airlines investment, it looks as though he’s going to need some legal help. How about giving his brother Frankie a call? Frankie is in Washington D.C., but we all know loyal Frankie would drop everything to help his little brother out. I would think Caroline could call Frankie begging him to come home and help Max. Obviously DAYS has a large cast, so they could put Stephanie, Jeremy, Jett, Chelsea, Shawn, and Belle on a plane and ship them off to Las Vegas, Tinda Lau, or one of Stefano’s islands in order to make room for the people many of us actually care about. I did actually root for Chelsea and Nick at one time but after she treated him like dirt in Vegas, Chelsea can take a hike. Shawn and Belle’s arguing is so redundant and predictable anymore, so maybe these two would be better off anywhere else but Salem.
Baby Pocket, A.K.A. Tyler Kiriakis, is absolutely adorable and I can understand why Kayla would get so attached to him. We all know Philip is going to eventually discover that Pocket is his son and Philip plays hardball the Kiriakis way. Thus, this predictable story will turn into a no holds barred custody battle with Steve and Kayla in one corner and Philip in the other corner. This will make for an obviously juicy story, especially since Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans have never had scenes with Jay Kenneth Johnson. Again, the Johnsons will need a good lawyer so why not phone Frankie? He would make a heartfelt plea on Steve and Kayla’s behalf since they once took orphans Frankie and Max in and gave them a home. This would put obstacles in the way of Frankie and Billie’s potential love story since Billie would obviously be on Philip’s side regarding the custody battle. I’m hoping DAYS will come to their senses and lure Billy Warlock back to the show. What is your opinion regarding Frankie Brady returning to Salem?
