Tony's Evil Cousin
According to Soap Opera Digest (SOD), the Bradys meet to discuss the possibility that Andre DiMera, Tony’s evil cousin, is actually posing as Tony. Bo and Andre have a showdown on a rooftop, where Andre spills that Tony is on an island and the key to finding him is literally on Bart’s back. Andre suffers a fall, but survives. Roman finds Bart and discovers a tattooed map of an island on his back. John, Marlena, and Anna leave to find the real Tony DiMera. Thaao Penghlis explains that the last time anyone saw the real Tony was in 1998 when he disappeared into a fog screaming, “Anna!” All the years of Tony coming back since then has actually been Andre. Penghlis goes on to say that no one actually died in Aremid in 1995. “Everything was a trickery, a kind of illusion. It was the magical hand of Andre, knowing how to survive and how to disappear.”
John, Marlena, and Anna successfully locate Tony, but he’s not too keen on returning to Salem. John and Marlena are determined to get Stefano, and Tony’s the only one who is able to help him but he is reluctant to go back to Salem. He discusses how wonderful and simple his life now is. He does, though, provide them with information about a gold key that Stefano keeps on himself all of the time which is supposed to unlock the secret to ending the vendetta. Anna plants a kiss on Tony in order to ensure that he’s the real deal, which persuades Tony to return home.
Santo DiMera and Colleen Brady
According to Soap Opera Digest (SOD) summer preview, the DiMera vendetta goes all the way back to an ancient romance in Ireland between Santo, Stefano’s father, and Grandpa Shawn’s sister Colleen. Coincidentally, Santo and Colleen look exactly like EJ and Sami. The consequences of Colleen’s murder are what began the DiMera’s vendetta against the Bradys.
The DiMera Vendetta
Sami especially wants to end the life-long vendetta. Stefano’s standing in her way as well as Tony, Dr. Rolf, and Bart. John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, Doug, Julie, and Anna all bring with them a piece of the puzzle in regards to the mysterious vendetta. By summer’s end, there will be some resolution “but for Sami it’s incredibly costly.”
A Baby for Steve and Kayla?
Steve and Kayla have parental issues to deal with. Kayla expresses her desire to have another child.
Poor Nick
It’s a summer of “bad luck for Nick,” as Willow’s death has a lasting effect on him. In the end, his position in terms of his career will change as well as his relationship with Chelsea. However, he’ll still be very close to the woman he loves.
Shawn, Belle, and Philip Drama
The Shawn/Belle/Philip triangle will be revisited. Shawn feels as though he’s in his uncle’s shadow, so he discovers a way to distract Philip, which involves a pregnant woman named Lauren. Could this be the same Lauren who is carrying Philip and Mimi’s baby?
