Misty Circle

By , About.com Guide

At the police station, Abe tells his recipient on the phone how dangerous Stefano is, then expresses his frustration to Hope how nobody seems to care that Stefano’s running around free. Hope insists that there has to be a way to convince the governor and the D.A. to pursue charges. Bo enters and Abe rants how Stefano knows how to work the system. Hope brings up John’s civil suit against Stefano. Abe says John didn’t give any explanation as to why he decided not to press charges, which is bizarre. He recounts how he’s spent almost his entire career trying to put the monster behind bars, and nothing sticks. Hope tries to assure Abe that they’ll get him eventually. Abe is appalled over Stefano living a carefree, cozy life after all the pain he’s caused everyone else. “It makes me sick!” fumes Abe. Bo understands his frustration, but wonders if there’s something else bothering him. Abe picks up a photo of Lexie and Theo, expressing how he feels pretty useless, especially when it comes to his son. Lexie arrives and exchanges hugs and warm greetings with Hope. Hope hints for Bo to step outside the office with her.

After they exit, Lexie tries to assure Abe that Theo’s making some progress, but Abe isn’t so sure. He explains how hard he works at home trying to ensure that Theo has a normal life, but his frustration is bleeding over into work. Lexie admits that she feels pretty overwhelmed herself, and it’s not like they have any time to relax. Abe suggests a vacation, but Lexie doesn’t want to throw Theo off schedule. They are interrupted by Lexie’s phone, which is in regards to a meeting she missed. Abe tries to assure her that it’s going to be okay, but she stresses about how everything’s going wrong and she’s under so much pressure. Abe comforts her.

Abe later rubs Lexie’s shoulders, but it doesn’t seem to relieve her stress much. She expresses how she feels as though she’s being pulled in many different directions and complains how there are other women who manage to be perfect little mothers while maintaining successful careers. “I just feel like such a failure,” she desponds. Abe tries to assure her otherwise. She feels as though the hospital board is scrutinizing her every move, just waiting for her to make a mistake. Lexie wonders how their son is ever supposed to learn to socialize when she’s hardly ever with him to teach him. Abe tells her not to be so hard on herself and implores her to tell him what he can do to help, even offering to cut back on his work hours. Lexie urges him not to give that up and says she’ll just figure out a way to balance everything. She then receives a message on her phone, which reveals that she’s been summoned to the hospital board for review. Abe offers his full support. She kisses him and professes to love him for it.

Meanwhile, Bo and Hope do a search on their respective computers, and Hope discovers the name of Trent Robbins’s wife to be Misty Circle. Bo recognizes that name. They discover that Trent was married to a porn star. Hope isn’t sure she wants to know how Bo knew she was a porn star. A smirking Bo claims he never saw the video she was in, Locker Room Lolita. He reveals that Misty Circle was married to his biological father. Hope is stunned that Misty Circle is none other than Nicole Walker.

Outside the pub, Trent phones Melanie, urging her to call when she gets the message. He flashes back to asking Melanie to cozy up to Claude to pay off his debt. He encounters Nicole and reveals that he’s meeting John Black, but is hoping that Nicole had reconsidered giving him money. “You need money? Talk to the shrink inside. Maybe she’ll pay you to be part of some psychological test. I hear they use rats all the time,” she snarks. Trent goes inside and approaches Marlena, who gives him the third degree. He asks to join her. Marlena turns him down, as she’s not looking for company. He questions how it’s going with moving on with her life. “I’ve decided on divorce,” announces Marlena. He suspects that John wasn’t too happy about shelling about money for a divorce settlement, but Marlena affirms that she doesn’t care about his money. She declares that all she wants from John is her freedom.

Trent brings coffee to Marlena, but she declines. He notes her frosty behavior. “When was the last time you spoke to your son?” she questions. He states that all parents have issues with their children, as he knows she does. She affirms that her life is not a topic of conversation, and neither are her children. “Well then, don’t cast stones Dr. Evans,” he suggests.

John arrives outside the pub and sees Trent talking to Marlena inside. Nicole approaches John outside the pub and notes how disgusting it is that Trent’s flirting with Marlena. She asks if he ever followed up on the information which she gave him about Trent. John doubts that it will help much to know Trent has a gambling problem unless he lands behind bars. Nicole refers to Trent as scum and says jail is where he belongs. She pushes his buttons and warns him that Trent destroys lives, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get what he wants no matter who it affects. “Well then, he has to be stopped,” decides John. He then enters the pub and punches Trent, knocking him to the ground. “Get up!” bellows John as he kicks Trent. Marlena is appalled at his rage. John falls to the ground with fury in his eyes. Trent gets up and threatens to call the police.

Marlena implores John to explain himself to her. “I think I’m the one who deserves an explanation. I thought I made myself perfectly clear I didn’t want you associating with him,” retorts John. “That’s why you attacked him, because you were jealous?” she questions. She states that he has no right to interfere in her life and he has no claim on her. Marlena theorizes that he doesn’t understand love, only possession, and he just wants to own her. “Do you know who you are? You’re Stefano,” she states. “I am NOT my brother!” exclaims John. Marlena strongly disagrees and urges John to stay the hell away from her.
