All's Well That Ends Well

By , About.com Guide

Nicole wanders outside the pub, flashing back to Bo and Hope confronting her about Trent. She worries about having to give all of Victor’s money back if he finds out she’s still married to Trent. Victor approaches her and demands to know what she’s babbling about.

Inside the pub, we see a brief replay of Max telling Bo that he was protecting his family. Bo notes that he was threatening to kill a man in a restaurant full of people. He urges Max to apologize, but Max refuses. “The only thing I’m sorry about is that I didn’t finish that bastard off!” admits an angry Max.

Nearby, Trent actually expects Melanie to forgive him, but Melanie yells that she hates him and would kill him with her bare hands if she could. Bo, Steve, and Kayla urge Max to stay back as Nick witnesses the scene. “What’s gotten into you, Dad? What sort of man pimps out his daughter to cover a gambling debt?” she cries. Trent denies doing any such thing. Melanie states that if Max hadn’t have rescued her, Claude would’ve raped her. Trent blames Max for turning his own daughter against him. He tells Max to keep away from Mel, but Steve pushes Trent back and tells him to take it easy. Max tells Trent to leave, but Trent refuses to go anywhere. “Trent. This is my pub. And I want you to leave,” asserts Caroline.

Bo offers to take care of the situation. A disgusted Caroline lays into Trent for using his daughter to pay off his gambling debt. An upset Melanie darts out of the pub and Nick follows her. Nicole and Victor enter. Caroline refers to Trent as a disgrace and is sick that he’s Max’s father. Steve tells Trent to go, but warns him not to go too far since the police will want to talk to him. Trent has the audacity to call his daughter a pathological liar. "Don’t you dare, try to talk your way out of this or put any blame on Melanie!” admonishes Max. Trent warns them that no-one smears his good name and gets away with it.

Nicole and Victor watch from afar as Steve implores Max to calm down. Stephanie reminds Max that Melanie’s safe, but Max doesn’t believe that Mel will be safe as long as Trent’s in her life. Max storms off, which only worries Stephanie.

Outside the pub, Nick approaches an upset Melanie. He comforts Melanie just as Chelsea arrives to witness the close moment.

Back inside, Bo brings Caroline and Hope coffee. Caroline is in disbelief as to how anyone could do that to their own child. Bo encourages her to not let Trent get to her like that. Caroline rants how angry Trent makes her. Meanwhile, Bo and Hope notice Victor taking a phone call and Hope insists that he need to tell Victor the truth now. Bo implores his ma to promise to stay away from Trent. He goes over to Victor, who is stunned to hear that Trent is Max’s father and tried to prostitute his own daughter. Bo tells Victor that he needs to know something about Nicole. Nicole asks for some privacy with Victor and brings him outside. Hope is dubious that Nicole will really tell Victor the truth.

Outside, Nicole reluctantly reveals to Victor that he wasn’t her second husband, but her third. Victor doesn’t seem surprised to hear that she was married to Trent Robbins and wonders why he should care. “Because Trent and I are still legally married,” she confesses.

Stephanie sits down with her parents at the pub and wonders how Trent could use his own daughter to pay off his own gambling debt. Kayla deduces that it’s because Trent doesn’t have a conscience. Steve asks Steph why she didn’t call and tell what was going on in France, as he could’ve called Interpol or the ISA. Steph claims it was just stupid stuff with Melanie before Trent set her up with the pervert. She says she’s just worried about Max. Steve assures her that he and Bo will keep an eye on Max. Steph expresses how horrible it is what Trent did to Melanie, but thinks the girl will be trouble.

Outside, Chelsea lurks in the background as Nick assures Melanie that he’ll be there for her. Melanie despairs how she’s lost everything, but Nick says she still has friends. “And family,” adds Trent as he emerges.

Chelsea enters the pub, muttering to Steph how Melanie’s outside crying all over Nick’s shoulder. Steph reveals that Max tried to kill Trent by putting a broken beer bottle next to his neck, but Grandma Caroline convinced him to stop. A jealous Chelsea questions what happened to Melanie. Steph says she got into a fight with Trent about what he did to her in France and had a complete meltdown. “Which Nick completely fell for,” assumes Chelsea. Steph implores her to admit that she’s jealous. Chelsea claims that it bothers her to know that Nick is a really good guy hanging out with Melanie. Stephanie questions if Chelsea is still in love with Nick. Chelsea admits that she cares about him, but they’re just friends. Steph advises her to let it go, reminding Chelsea that she’s the one who broke up with Nick.

Back outside, Victor doesn’t act at all surprised by Nicole’s revelation. She reveals that she married Trent when she was still in college, but went by a different name. Victor reveals that he did a background check before they got married and is amused to hear that Misty Circle was her name back then. She recounts how Trent abused her and how critical he was of her. Victor laughs at her survival story. He declares that he doesn’t owe her any money and relishes in knowing that she’s about to become dirt poor. “I think I’m gonna be sick,” she mutters before rushing off.

Meanwhile, Nick threatens to call the cops on Trent unless he leaves. Melanie offers to talk to her dad. Nick assures her that he’ll be inside. Trent apologizes for the misunderstanding in France and says he’ll speak to Claude. Melanie reveals that Claude is in jail for attempted rape and his friend is in jail for attempted murder. Trent is only worried about his gambling debt. Melanie refers to him as a piece of work. “Remember darling, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree,” he implies.
