A Perfect Model Citizen

By Gwen Morett, About.com

Marlena runs into John outside the pub, where he questions if getting divorced is what she really wants. She confirms this and recalls how she spent months trying to get back the man she loves, but now realizes that it’s not going to happen. He assumes that she’s giving up, but she declares that she’s starting over without him. She believes she’s wasted too much time on him already. He simply suggests she just move back in with him, expressing how he now realizes how important she is to him. She appreciates hearing that, but she’s decided to accept a date with Trent Robbins. “We’re still married. And I don’t want you seeing him,” affirms John. Marlena wonders if he’s jealous. She calls him a hypocrite, reminding him that he was seeing Ava Vitali and even had a “sleepover” with her. John claims it was different, but doesn’t want to discuss it. She walks off.

Inside the pub, Kate asks Tony what’s bothering him and wonders if it has something to do with moving back into the DiMera mansion. He says he’s taking a stand against John and his father. Kate believes he’s asking for trouble, but Tony claims he doesn’t have a choice. Kate questions what Anna thinks about it. “She’s dead set against it,” replies Anna as she appears.

Philip sits with Lucas at the pub, where Lucas mentions how he heard his brother was cleared in the Hollingsworth case. Philip clarifies this and asks what’s going on with Lucas’s custody hearing. Lucas reveals that the judge granted joint custody. Philip guesses that Sami’s reaction won’t be good, but unfortunately she doesn’t have a choice.

Lexie arrives at the pub and asks Anna if she could have a moment alone with Tony. Anna gives Lexie her permission to tell Tony what a fool he’s being. Kate and Anna walk off as Lexie sits down with Tony. He says Anna’s having a difficult time adjusting to her new quarters. Lexie reveals that Anna called her and is very upset and worried about the situation. Tony claims that Anna’s overreacting, but Lexie counters that he’s completely out of his mind if he’s thinking of going up against Stefano. Tony is aware of the atrocities Stefano’s responsible for, which is why he has to stay in the mansion and fight. He informs Lexie of the injunction which E.J. obtained. Lexie still expresses her disapproval of Tony staying in the mansion. Tony asserts that it’s not about money, but about the next generation of DiMeras, including Theo.

Morgan sits with Anna, who apologizes for what happened to Paul. Morgan expresses how frustrated she’s been, since she’s convinced that her father didn’t commit all those crimes, but there’s nothing she can do. Anna encourages her not to give up, assuring her that she’s young and beautiful. Morgan shares how she’s looking for an internship for the fall and asks if Anna needs one. Anna reveals that her advertising company went under and she’s working for Tony now. Morgan expresses how wonderful that is, but realizes it’s not an option for her since she’s already interned for Tony. Anna proposes that she intern for one of their biggest clients.

Lexie affirms that she doesn’t want Theo anywhere near Stefano or his money. She argues that the DiMera name only conjures up hatred and fear and urges him to walk away now. Tony insists they need to fight for ultimate control and wrangle power from both John and Stefano. He appreciates Lexie’s concern, but insists he and E.J. need to bring Stefano and John to their knees. Lexie can’t support him and warns him that Stefano could annihilate him. They exchange hugs and Lexie reiterates her warning about him getting hurt

Meanwhile, Lucas notices his brother staring at Morgan across the room and encourages him to go talk to her. Philip walks over to Morgan, who rehashes how he threatened to kill her father. He asks if she’s ever said something in the heat of an argument which she didn’t really mean. “Well, I never threatened to kill someone,” she retorts. Philip apologizes and claims that he tends to get carried away in business, but what the two of them have isn’t anything like that.

Kate gets off the phone and starts coughing. Anna notes how terrible it sounds. She offers to take her to the emergency room, but Kate insists that she’s swamped today. Kate agrees to see a doctor if it doesn’t go away soon.

Philip tells Morgan that he misses her and asks her if they can start over. She vows that she’ll never be able to forgive him for threatening to kill her father. Philip wonders if she thinks they would’ve made it as a couple if it weren’t for all the bad stuff. “You know, I guess we’ll never know,” surmises Morgan, who then leaves.

Anna tells Kate that she believes she’s found the perfect intern for her and asks if she’d like to meet her. Kate says she can’t now, but Anna can have the potential intern talk to Chris, Kate’s assistant. She thanks Anna and says bye to Tony, who then sits with Philip wanting to talk about the future. Tony states his desire to align with Philip in bringing John down. He affirms that John has got to go, which Anna overhears.

Lucas speaks to Mickey on the phone, who apparently has great news for him. Lucas smiles and thanks Mickey for everything he’s done, then heads over to the DiMera mansion.

Bo meets Hope in the park, where she suggests a romantic picnic and kisses him. They joke about her lack of cooking skills, or lack thereof. He notes that she thought of everything. “Well, not everything. Otherwise I would’ve brought a tent,” she smiles.

The Bradys later share a kiss, where Bo smiles how he likes a little afternoon delight. Hope presents him with a liverwurst on rye. He enjoys his sandwich and gets playful with Hope. He questions where she went earlier. She reveals that she went to the hospital to find Daniel. She thought she could get some answers out of Daniel, recalling how upset Chelsea was before she left to see Max and Stephanie in France. Bo insists that he needs to talk to Daniel, but Hope implores him to just finish his sandwich, then take a mint so they can get back to what they were doing. Bo laughs how he doesn’t need a mint and smooches her.
