2008 was quite a tumultuous year with new arrivals, shocking departures, annoying characters, couple swappings, and storylines that just didn't live up to our expectations. Take a look back at some of the worst moments on Days of Our Lives for 2008. Do you agree or disagree? Feel free to share your own opinions of the worst moments during the past year. (Read more).

OMG I can’t stand melanie she is nothing but trouble and sure doesnt do anything for the show, she is a Bch, she needs to get a reality check they gotta do something about her.
I agree with Gwen on everything. Lucas and Chloe…snore. Daniel’s infatuation with young ill patients…creepy. Kate’s cancer…miracle cure (unrealistic). She was so much more intersting when she was with Roman. Put the following couples back together: Chloe & Brady; Lucas & Sami; EJ & Nicole; Max & Stephanie; Roman & Kate. Show more of the following couples: Kayla & Steve; Bo & Hope; Doug & Julie, Mickey & Maggie. REHIRE Drake & Deidre! Get rid of Melanie, Daniel, Phillip, Dr. Baker. Get back to centralizing the show around it’s rich history.
I do think there will be an end to Nicole’s story, though. I think she will end up going to a certain orphanage/convent and getting a baby that was left there by Sami! Then when everyone involved finds out that “Nicole’s” baby is actually Sami and EJ’s baby, the stuff will hit the fan!
I agree with Scoutmom except I’m hoping that Nicole’s baby did not really die, But the good Dr sold Her. This way Nicole could buy her baby back without even knowing its really hers and Ej’s.

Get back to what DOOL was. Bring back Deidre and Drake!!! When they leave, it will be the last time I watch this show. Put the people we’ve invested years in back together! We want more of Steve & Kayla, Marlena & John, Bo & Hope, Roman & Kate…. We need our ‘villains’ too, Victor and Stefano….
If they didn’t hire all these youngsters to play twits we have no interest in, add nothing to the show, then they’d have the money to keep the fan favorites working.
But when you get right down to it, that’s what NBC and TPTB want. They don’t want to carry any soaps and this is how they are getting rid of them. Alienating their loyal viewers.
I agree that Melonie should go. The character is annoying and does not add anything to the show.
My thoughts are get rid of Danial omg that guy with his addicton to sex.
Bring back steve and Kayla, John and Marlaina Bo and Hope Max and Steph where cool to. No way for Chelsea and Max.
I must say I’m a Lumi fan but Rafe and Sami a fun to watch. He has her all figured out.
Melanie be gone and take Phillip with ya.

said. the show has lost its cohesiveness
and its like a bunch of shows inside one show
and none of them connect. where were Roman
and Victor during Kate’s illness and WHO looks
like that when they are sick and puking their
guts from chemo?? Daniel is gross, he looks
like one of the Geico cavemen, all the teeny
boppers can GO. no more Sami and Rafe, put
her back with Lucas, let EJ have Nicole and
another pregnancy-they started out so good and
now its like watching Kritter Blake trying to
snare John again.
I was a little kid watching with my Gramma on
Deidre Hall’s first day. I also saw Drake’s
first day. what has been done to them is an
abomination and they are getting no screen
time. they are leaving this month and it is
going to be a bum’s rush because there is
no time for the payoff all the J and M fans
have been waiting for since LAST January.
Ken Corday sucks it and none of this matters
to me, anyway. When Deidre and Drake go, so
does this lifelong viewer.
I agree with most the comments but, I would like to see Samantha and E.J together. I hate it that John (Drake) and Marlena(Deidra) are leaving the show. I have been watching from day one and the original actors are the best. I agree with stop bringing in cheaper actors they will never keep the show on the air. They will enforce why it is going off the air. I do like Phillip though. Nicole has played her final act and her story line is getting burnt out. Everyone can see it coming she will end up with Samaantha’s baby, which would be a very poor story line. Put her with Stephano they deserve each other. I would also like to see Steph back with Max and put cholie back with Phillip. At least they were realistic.
I agree with everyone.Days is getting real BORING.I watch the first ten minutes to see if anything is going to happen.They need to get rid of Daniel.He is a sex fiend.Melanie needs to be shipped back to where she came from.When John & Marlana leave,so will I.I have been watching since day one,but I willno longer watch.
I’m with Annie, Sami and EJ!!! I liked Sami and Lucas for a short while but it didn’t last. No one has brought this up, but I just really don’t like Stephanie. First of all she looks NOTHING like either one of her parents and she is sooooo annoying! Every time she and Max had a scene I had to FF to next scene. Now she is with Phillip and I can’t FF because he is too hot to miss, but I could really do without her. Never thought about Nicole getting Sami’s baby-that would be something to send Sami over the edge. I also agree with the comment on Kate-all made up while in the hospital battling cancer. At least Y&R knows how to make their actresses look down and out when they are sick/in prison/upset over loved ones dying.
I keep hopeing that Nichole will wake up and all the lost baby thing will have been a very long dream and learns that Nichole is still very pregnant and engaged to marry E.J. and the 2 leave Salem for good.
Sami needs to loose her baby, the killer needs to b caught and Sami&Lucas marry for keeps this time.
Melanie should take a long walk off the short end of a plank on the way out of Salem.
Brady&Cholie should open a branch of Basic Black overSeas and take flight.
Stephano should learn of a mericle drug for Kate’s cancer and the 2 go to Europe.
Doctor Dan cannot make up his mind about his women. He chases one untill she is caught and then he decides he doesnot want that one but another and the chase is on again. I guess the chase is better than the prise, and there must be something over powering about sick women. Those r the ones Doctor Dan always “goes for”.
We need lots more of Steve/patch and Kayla. Also bring back the old John and Marlena. How is it saving the show to take off the best couples? Bring back these 2 couples.
I agree that Melanie is a poor choice for the show. Judging from what others are saying here, I also cannot tolerate her and her character. IMO, she seems like a 15 year old in an adult world, a mediocre actress at best and not credible enough. I was disgusted with the way she constantly cleared her throat, but it doesn’t seem she does it anymore. Please don’t think that because some don’t like her that she must be good. Quite the contrary. She is a poor actor and it would be in the show’s best interest to remove her or change her character to something less visible.
I have watched for years but now its like they want us to turn against our show, keep john and marlana, steve/kayla, mickey and maggie, E.J/sammie belong together, find someone for roman, i can’t stand melanie or nicloe, get rid of them, i’m tired of the sami/lucas thing, its soo old, not really fond of kate and how shes always in someones business, they need to get back to the basic story line and keep it, we all love the old days but this new one makes me yawn
The viewers miss the old John&Marlena and Steve&Kayla. Bring back these 2 couples.
Give Melanie a one way ticket out of Salem.
Doctor Dan needs to grow-up and make-up his mind what woman he chooses. The Chelsea/Daniel/Kate thing was dumbo. What grandmother goes after the guy she advised her granddaughter to land and what guy lands his girlfriend’s grandmother? This storyline never should have been writter.
Brady take Cholie and get the heck out of Dodge, or in this case Salem.
Lucas get Sami back. Sami loose the bun in your oven and marry Lucas. Lucas&Sami and Brady&Cholie.
Ax Melanie. Bring back the old John&Marlena and Steve/Patch&Kayla.
Doctor Daniel never knows who he wants. He chases 1 and catches her then he is after another. my opion is: Docter Daniel you need to grow-up.
CANT STAND MELANIE. Everytime she is on, I just walk away from the tv. She is very annoying. The way she moves her mouth with that goofy grin is enough to make you sick.
I dont know if the actress is told to act that way or its just her nature, but she is got to go.
Daniel is a pervert – I can’t stand the way he leers at all the women/girls he interacts with – Don Juan he’s NOT!
And what’s up with that squeaky voiced Melanie – blech! Put Daniel and Melanie together – she’s his speed and give them a nice long vacation on that island Belle and Shawn were stuck on!
Thank God they’re getting rid of Marlena, too…John’s new character is a hoot – keep him onboard – great foil for his bro Stephano. Steve deserves better than boring old Kayla.
Sure missed Mrs H for Christmas – moment of silence for Alice Horton, please.
I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING!!! i have watched days my whole life and this last year has been the worst ever!!!!! i am soooo mad they let nicole miscarry that baby. although i would not be surprised if dr, baker took the baby and sold it!!! she just should have come clean with ej!!! i am furious that they let john and marlena go… we watched john get his memory erased by the dimeras and what is he suddendly going to have a huge breakthrough and him and blondie are going to leave salem probably go to colorado with brady and live happy ever after!!! they owe us more than that. melanie is soooo annoying!!!! they need to bring belle and shawn back form the fancy face. where was alice horton on christmas??? daniel drives me nuts too!!! ahhh!!!! help!!!!!
CANT STAND MELANIE EITHER!!! And it is not cuz she is a villain and a moron, but it is because she is not even good at doing that! She is SO boring, childish, annoying…and a waste of airtime and DAYS money that they could be using to keep amazing and longtime DAYS characters!
Also, there’s no way Nicoles baby is alive, she was only like 4 months pregnant when she lost if, there is no way possible that baby could have survived unless Dr Baker is Superman or something, sorry. Her baby is gone, and if they decide to make her come back to life, then the writers of Days and the watchers who fall for it are crazy! No baby has survived being born in the 16th week. It would be impossible for that baby to survive. Plus Nicole says she remembers losing her baby, she remembers going through it, and then fell asleep and dreaming her babty made it after all, but of course didn’t. The day an unborn baby can survive being born after being only in the womb for 16 weeks, then that would be a true miracle and one for the medicine books and Guiness book of world records. I certainly hope DAYS doesn’t play some silly game with us like that that would even try to have us believing a lame story like that. I am Sorry she lost the baby though, I felt so bad for Nicole that I cried along with her, her performace was incredible, and like I have been saying for months now, yes, Nicole is going to end up with Samis baby….saw it coming from a mile away, please, they made it way too obvious it is sickening. Want Steph and Phillip together, they are cute and funny and fresh, and she would be good for him. I want chloe to just leave and go sing somewhere…forever! haha! And I dont know who I want Brady with yet, just please NOT WITH MELANIE!!!! PLease send Melanie bye bye!!! For good!!!
Love the autism storyline and Bos new storyline, about time he is more front and center, don’t know about Chelsea and Max being back together….just don’t know if I like that. And would Daniel make up his mind already, and how is it that the former ghoul girl of Salem is now the Salem slut, she has slept with more men in Salem that most of the women in Salem put together, yikes! Just hate her with Lucas…no chemistry and boring as sin! Glad it looks like Kate and Daniel will be over..that was just a nasty pairing, and I agree with whomever said that Kates health being better now is unbelievable, it really is, I mean come on, in the stage she was in, and then boom she gets new bone marrow and shes better and not on her deathbed anymore!? I know this is a drama, but come on….they could have been at least a little more realistic! How does everyone feel about Sami and Rafe? I am still out on that one too…and boy would I HATE to be Nicole when the truth comes out about the baby…that girl better run!

Kate’s cancer, lying in bed with all her make-up on very unrealistic, no Roman or Victor by her side.
I hate Melanie too very phoney character and her stupid smile drives me nuts.
I think once Allison Sweeney delivers her real baby they will continue her story and get her back to Salem. I like her and rafe together. lucas and chole not working.
I want the old john and marlena to stay and have a great storyline with Brady too.
Enough with Nicole fake preg. she is doing a great acting job, but enough is enough already they always make the men so clueless in these storylines. It is getting old.
I want steve and kayla back and Bo and hope to all have and adventure they are so good together.
I agree with most of all the comments made. I have been watching this show for 30 years. There’s been good and bad, but this is the worst. I enjoy my friends soap more right now. Why did they even bring Philip and Chloe back! He is disgusting as an actor and to look at. Putting Stephanie with him makes me want to puke. And Chloe, she is just boring let her go back to singing far away. They let go the couple, Belle and Shawn, for them!! Give me a break. At least they were part of the main families. They were who we wanted to get together every time they split up. Daniel-OMG-he can’t make up his mind would he cares for. I have never seen any jump from women to women so fast with “supposedly” feeling for each. The Kate cancer thing was so badly done. I have lived with someone who went through cancer this past year and nothing about what they showed was anything close to the truth of what they go through. My god, she never even looked sick!!! Yes, we figured the Sammi and Nicole baby switch was coming. With Tom Horton gone, and Alice unable to be a main character, where is the history of this show going to come from after John and Marlena are gone too. Maggie is rarely on and Mickey even less. Caroline’s time is limited and Shawn pasted away too. So that leaves us with a bunch of kids that doesn’t really have connections to the show because they are letting the good ones go to bring in a bunch of kids. I realize they need younger people too. But if the network is trying to kill off this soap, they are doing a good job of it.
Don’t understand why everyone wants Phillip to go. I think he’s a keeper and was so happy when he came back. The other Phillip was awful. John & Marlena should stay for sure. I save a lot of time fast forwarding thru the Nicole stuff. That’s really getting old. She was getting to be a fun character and has a great sense of humor and now she’s just getting stupid thanks to the writers. She and EJ could be such a fun couple. It’s fun watching Sami & Rafe too, but that’s also getting old. Do hope Max & Steph are through. She is a lot better with Phillip. She annoyed Max enough already. I’ve already started watching another soap so I’ll have one when Days is taken off the air. When is the last award show that was fun for Days fans to watch? Can’t even remember. Maybe the next time there are new writers, it should be some fans.
I was watching the twilight zone and I love Rod Serling but Dr. Daniel Jonas has a resemblance to him. Especially around the mouth. Yeah Monkey face Jonas is a perv. Yea Melanie is a creep and whiny and Sami casn be whiny too. I hope like one of you said that Dr.El creepo pretended the baby died.And the baby is still alive. Same thing happened to Bo and Billie about Georgia (Chelsea) so it would not surprise me.
I too have watched Days since the show first aired. I can’t believe they let the two main chaccaters go! I suggest they keep them on and FIRE the most boring. Melanie,Max,Steph,Dr Jonas, Chloe to name a few. I have seen little or no Roman. What’s up with that? Also I wanted to know if anyone remembers Roman and Nicole getting it on before she left for California.

I don’t like Bo/Hope or Steve/Kayla…they sicken me actually, though I’ve also watched since I was a child. I used to dislike Marlena and John too, but I love newJohn so much I’ve changed my mind, and I’m devastated to see them leave.
I think Nicole’s baby is either still alive, or that she will somehow end up with Sami’s baby, since Sami’s contemplating leaving it at the orphanage.

BEST scene of 2008, hands down: when the plane crashed and newJohn was talking to Belle and called her “Dink” bahahahha too awesome for words!! hehe
Nicoles baby is dead, end of story, no way could be alive, was only 3-4 months prego when she lost it…impossible. With Billie and Bo, Billie was already 9 months pregnant, they just said she was stillborn, so that made sense (well, sorta, lol) with her turning up alive…
Crazy to not like Philip, I mean I disliked him when he came back and had the affair with Belle, but once they left, and he changed, I started to really like him, and LOVE Phil and Steph together, Stephanie is awesome! Could do without Chelsea, I don’t know, she has come a long way as a person, but really do like Stephanie, and like her with Phil! How could you not like Bo and Hope, next to Tom and Alice and Shawn and Caroline, they are the family and heart of the show without a doubt! And Melanie is SO much more annoying than anyone else on the show, makes me sick to watch her anymore…no depth, and so boring, whine whine whine and manipulate manipulate, manipulate which equals lame and pathetic, and Stephanie and Chels are nothing like that, at all! Yes, Chloe needs to go bye bye along with Melanie, and Kate and possibly Dr. Perv Jonas….where is Roman and Anna?!?! Dont see them at all anymore! Was nice to see Tony last week, finally!!! Need to see more of him!

Room for improvement: Let the fans have MORE storylines that make us cheer, real couples who belong together and weddings, and romance, and intriguing stories that draw us to watch day after day, I am still watching after almost 30 years now, and will stay devoted, however would like to be drawn into the stories more, and make me more anxious to watch!!!
I am 54 years old and I started watching Days with my mother when I was 12 years old. All the story lines have gotten oh so boring. When John & Marlena leave the show so will I.
It has been a fun 42 years watching and now I will have to start watching another soap.
Have not seen one positive statement about Melanie or Dr. Jonas.I bet their characters even nauseate them at times. Some of the writers have story lines that are unreal. Kate is too unreal too.
I agree as well Gwen. Except I must say I loved Melanie with a few things she called people on except not once did we ever get her calling Stephanie and Max on dating each other. I had to look up a marriage law the other day and in VA you are not allowed to marry a niece or nephew regardless if you were adopted. So even VA law wouldn’t allow a legal union of them. Now we get Chelsea and Max part 2. Come on, we didn’t like them the first time and why is it that Max has to date family. Find him someone new to date that he isn’t related too. I am surprised he hasn’t hit on Kayla by now since she is family.
BRING JOHN AND MARLENA BACK. BIGGGGGG MISTAKE LETTING THEM GO. They are part of the glue that has given the show meaning and focus. You’ve done away with Shawn and Belle already. Get rid of other that are tiresome. Nicole and Melanie are not needed. Nicole is the same old story line lie after lie and is old. Melanie is totally a waste of Day’s money. Somebody needs to get their priorities straight.
I think the show has SORASed (soap opera rapid aging syndrome for those of you not familiar) Nicole’s pregnancy. I think she was closer to 6 or 7 months along when she miscarried so possibly the fetus could have been viable. And since when do the writers follow convention and realism with their storylines anyway?

I think one of the worst things that happened in 08 was bringing Stefano out of his coma. I didn’t want him to come back at all. I think Days should get rid of Stefano and also get rid of head writer Dena again. Maybe Days should let Tony and Anna and EJ and Nicole be head of that empire now. I may quit watching Days after Marlena leaves and when Sami has her baby if the show doesn’t get much better than this.
Although, I did love over the holidays how Victor wanted Brady and Philip to work together. However, I guess I agree with most people about Melanie she is another person I wish Days would get rid of.
One more thing I missed not getting to see Alice over Christmas. I thought it was wild that Maggie said Alice was upstairs with Mckey the whole time.
I think Julie and Doug should be regulars again and eugene and Calliope. i liked Wayne Northrop and marlena together.new JOHN IS FUNNY WITH CALLING THE KIDS RUGRATS AND HE WAS GOOD WITH HIS GRANDAUGHTER.aaaaaaayep the fake pregnancy is a stomach turner/ On the old Carol Burnett show they used to have a skit as the stomach turns. Some of these scenes should be named that.

Sami was on there then as a teenager and in realality EJ could not be more than 12 or 13 and the same with phillip.both were artifically inseminated.I am a bit lost with the phillip birth. i thought Vivian carried him. so who would his real mother be?someone smarter than me please explain
Ya, I missed seeing Alice at Christmas also, they said that Frances Reid was not up to being on the show.. I am hoping we see her on the show again when she is better and feeling more up to it though.
And regarding Nicoles baby, yes, I know all about the rapid time advancement that Soaps have, however, even in the clinic she said she was only about 4 months along, and after she lost the baby, even the Dr. told Brady that a baby that small and only being 16 weeks old there was no way the baby could have survived. I lost a baby once, and I know it is not possible to have a baby that can survive when it is that young. They addressed that in the show that she was not far along enough to be saved, and Nicole even said it was too soon and that she would lose her baby if they could not get her contractions under control, and sadly they didn’t. Felt so awful for her character, but have not agreed with anything she has done since it happened. She should know by now that all secrets come out eventually,it is only a matter of time! Also, didn’t anyone notice that when she lost the baby she had like no belly at all, hardly anything a teeny tiny baby bump under her shirt but then when she lost the baby, she got that pregnancy pad and suddenly she is so much bigger over night! EJ is so stupid for falling for all of this!!!! I am so angry at him! I thought he was much smarter than I guess I had given him credit for. And if further down the road the writers decide to do the stupidest storyline of all in Days history and make Nicoles baby alive, then all women in the world should know that it is possible to have a healthy baby now at only 16 weeks pregnant!!! Cuz apparently Days will have changed developmental and health history forever!? Lame. I mean I know this is a soap opera but even this would be completely unbelievable and pathetic even for Days!
Lets get back to real stories, and quit with all the baby switching and fake pregnancies, etc. Where is the love and romance, and adventure?!!? I will still watch even after John and Marlena leave cuz I am a tue fan and have been for almost 30 years, and with as on again and off again as they have been on the show, I don’t think I will notice they are really gone that much, and they said they would bring them back from to time anyways for visits, so no biggie.

Oh and about Philip he was artificially inseminated and Kate and Victor are his real parents, Vivian was the surrogate Mommy….imagine all the trouble and drama Vivian could create if she came back to town!? Interesting thought…heck Daniel would probably want to sleep with her too…LOL
Another reason this storyline highly disappointed me was because Kate’s ex-husband, Roman Brady, was not involved, and it didn’t even appear that he had a clue she was sick. It would’ve made for a great story in bringing Roman and Kate closer together.

I’m a die-hard Kaman fan. The writer’s spent the later half of 2007 and an early part of 2008 laying the groundwork for them to get back together. There was constant reference to how much they cared for each other. A reunion was ripe. And then all of the drama with Daniel/Chelsea happened and we hardly saw Roman and Kate in each other’s company at all. When she was in the hospital for omental torsions he didn’t know, and when he saw her after she was released, he congratulated her on her BUSINESS. And then she was back in the hospital for cancer, and he was nowhere to be found, there was no mention of him even KNOWING she was sick.
WHAT THE HELL?

I agree with everything you said. I’ve watched Days for almost 40 years. The show is really going down the tube and it makes me so sad. I would like to see more Bo & Hope. Chelsea is a great new character and she’s on the back burner. I can’t stand the whole Lucas, Chloe, Kate, Daniel story line. I usually fast forward my Tivo thru that. The same thing with Lexi and Theo. Where are they going with that whole story line. I think the writers of the show must have NEVER been an actual watcher or fan of the show. They are killing it. We could do it better and maybe WE should.
Vivian Alamain was a good character. Never boring.Wish they would of kept shirleyn jones on a little longer/
I couldn’t agree more with you about Kate’s cancer storyline. Especially the part about Roman being left out. This could have been the perfect time to have Kate and Roman revisit their feelings for eachother. There is a lot of history between them which I’d very much like to see explored. I’m sick of all this new mix and match.
The nicole fake pregnacy story is more than tiresome.Dr Baker is a sleaze. hope there is a change soon. Notice there was more bedhopping on last nights episode, I watch at 11 on soapnet. Anyway i know Stephano is evil . Lexie is no angel but does she have to disrespect her father like that. he was genuinely concerned over Theo and he truly loves his grandkids.Life turned Stephano into a meanie. But he is interesting and keeps the show going. he is such a good actor you love to hate him/
Steve johnson is a hottie. He, Phillip and EJ and Rafe are all great looking.I dont care much for DR. jonas either. Those Geiko cavemen sure are ugly creatures.He makes me sick every time he gets one of those horny looks at different women. he is about as sexy as King Kong.If I was a man I would not go within a mile of Melanie.Ewww. Watched her last night and went into another room till she was off.
I watch Days on soapnet as well except I watch it at 10am. I am about done with NBC all together now. The only things I am watching on there now is The Biggest Loser and ER.
As I said before, I may quit watching Days when Marlena leaves and Sami has her baby. I almost quit watching back in August when they brought Stefano back but I stayed with Days through the end of the year to see the Christmas episodes. I really hope Days gets better this year.
What ever happen to Matt Brady? He was the youngest biological son of Shawn & Caroline. Back in the mid 80’s I remember him when he was with Ivy who got pregnant by Pete Jannings he then was with Melissa Horton(play by Lisa Trusal)who ended up who marrying Pete Jannings and plus I think he ran around with Jennifer Horton also. I thought when they had Granpa Shawn’s funeral, they would’ve brought him back at least for the funeral like they did with Kim Brady(Played by Patsy Pease)but they didn’t even mention his name at all. I remember that they had Matt Brady move to New York in 1988 to join the NYPD. What gives with Matt Brady? Did he die or just vanish into thin air? What also happened to Don Craig,Alex Marshall,Pete Jannings,Neil Curtis and Liz Chandlre? Bring back those characters,especially Matt Brady. That was when Days was awesome. 1980’s DOOL Rocked!
Yes the days of our lives of the seventies and eighties rocked. alot of the past stars were great. Alex Marshall was awesome and so was Don Craig and Mike Horton. I liked marlena of the early days but lately not so much. Poor Roman, maggie, and alot of the older stars are on the back burner and some of thes newer actors are making this great show creepy.

You’re right about DOOL rocked in the 80’s and I remember all those characters that you mention except Matt Brady. I don’t recall a Matt Brady who ran around with Melissa,Jennifer and Ivy. I remember Melissa & Pete broke up and she was with Lars who was her dance partner later on and that Pete fathered a baby boy with Ivy and Pete,Melissa and Liz’s brother Todd when they were on the run. Remember when Todd died with Liz at his side after the car accident? I remember Abe’s brother, Theo when he was killed by the crooked police chief Richard Cates.That was in Oct. 1985 and Abe & Lexie named little Theo after his deceased uncle.Talk about the good old “Days”.Does anyone else recall Matt Brady? Nope, never a Matt Brady, been watching since the mid 70’s, no Matt Brady..even double checked and researched to make sure I was not losing my mind, and I’m not. The only sons that Shawn and Caroline have are Roman and Bo, and then of course they adopted Frankie and Max. No Matt Brady. Sorry….
Almost sounds like you were thinking of Frankie?! I don’t know…but no listing on any Days site or anything about Matt. I do remember all the good ole days back in the 80s with Emilio and Ivy and Pete and Melissa and Jennifer, etc. Was so much fun to watch.
Wish Frankie would come back since Jennifer and Jack left town. He could hook up with different women there, but he had better watch out for Chloe the town tramp, LOL!

Poor Hilda being murdered! She was funny once they started to show more of her personality and even Sami likes her! I feel so bad for her!

This afternoon, I was on YouTube and there are alot of clips of Days from the 80’s on there. I was looking at Bo & Hope clips from “85 and I also looked at the day before Pete & Melissa’s wedding which air 2/13/1986 and there was Melissa’s old boyfriend Ian(I forgot about him) who stopped by to talk to her.Jennifer,Calliope and the original Mickey were also in it and Josh Taylor when he played Chris Kositchik.I also went to the family tree and see nothing on Matt Brady. As Penny said are you sure you’re not thinking of Frankie? Frankie was with Jennifer at that time. The only biological children Shawn & & Caroline have are Roman,Bo,Kim and Kayla. Frankie & Max are adopted,but no Matt.Can’t believe how long ago those episodes were.It only seem almost like yesterday.
I remember that Frankie & Max are adopted,but I seem to recall Matt Brady. He was in the same age range as Jennifer,Melissa(18 -22). Younger than Bo & Hope. I watched all of the soaps over the years but maybe I could be thinking of another show with a characyer by that name,but I seem to recall him on DOOL for some reason. I have to check out those 80’s clips on youtube.
Please bring back the old characters and out with the new ones. So disappointed that dear Frances Reid-Granny Horton was not there for the holidays Thanksgiving & Christmas. She’s the one that always held the show together with Gramps Horton. Such a beautiful lady as always. Broke my heart she wasn’t there for us if only to wish us the blessings of Christmas as she has always done over the past forty plus years. We love you Frances and miss you so very much. Wish I could say that for little miss Melanie. She should have been killed off the show and Nick should remain on the show. Trent Robbins did a better job with his character, but PLEASE do away with Miss Melanie. Let her and Philip go on a business trip on his jet disappearing into the ocean surviving the ordeal only to be captured by modern day pirates. Let Philip be put on an island far, far, away and little Miss Melanie Turmoil be taken away only to become the pirates sex slave since she is all that. Frankly my ear I don’t give a damn if she ever gets found. Maybe Philip for the remainer of his years can keep hunting for her. Now Julie, Doug, Maggie, Mickey, Bo, Hope, Steve, Kayla, Grandma Brady, Victor, Stefano, Tony, Anna, E.J., Nicole, Sami, Roman,Doc,John,and all the older cast need to be put into more action parts. Bring on the storms, bombs,murder schemes, disappearances, or anything with action to liven up the show. Abe, Lexie, Theo, need another part. The one they are playing needs to quit dragging on. I think Stefano is a very important character to the show and Joseph Mascolo is a great actor playing his part. Very talented. Nicole played her heart out and did a jam up job in making me feel the pain of her character losing the baby. She goes well with E.J. I figured like some others that Sami will mess up leaving the baby at the Church Orphanage an it will be just about impossible to connect the baby to her if it has E.J.’s bloodline.Kate’s part most definitely needs to be paired up with someone beside the doctor dog that went from riding the surf boards to riding all the women.Kate needs to go on the fishing boat again.Daniel’s character needs a more serious part than being a womanizer. Enough sex on Days. Let’s get the show on the road. Remember the girl that the Ford boy raped? She probably wound up pregnant so there’s an unfinished story in which a baby could be produced.Hope Days will be there for us to help ease the pain of this awful economy giving us comfort with an original comeback of the Olden Days which were the Golden Years for sure.Blessed be to all of you at the show.
